Water-absorbing resin
Provided is a water-absorbent resin which is capable of giving an absorbent material improved gel-shape stability and which has excellent water-absorption capacity. A water-absorbent resin of the present invention is a polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and has the following properties (1) and (2): (1) A disintegration amount at 20-fold swelling is 30% by mass or less; and (2) a solubility in physiological saline is 25% by mass or less. (Determination Method for Disintegration Amount at 20-Fold Swelling) 5 g of the water-absorbent resin is added to 100 g of physiological saline to allow the water-absorbent resin to absorb the physiological saline, thereby obtaining a gel. The obtained gel is divided approximately equally into five portions, and these portions are introduced respectively into cylindrical molds having a length of 3.6 cm and a radius of 2.8 cm and molded. The masses of the five molded cylindrical gels are measured. The heaviest and the lightest of the five gels are removed, and the remaining three gels are used as samples. A mass Wa (g) of each sample is measured. Each weighed sample is placed on the uppermost sieve of a combination of JIS standard sieves having a mesh size of 5.6 mm and a receptacle in this order and shaken for 10 minutes using a Ro-Tap shaker (rotation speed, 290 rpm; number of taps, 165 rpm). A mass Wb (g) of the gel which has passed through the sieves is measured. The disintegration amount of each sample is calculated using the following equation: Disintegration amount of sample (%)=Wb (g)/Wa (g)×100. An average of the disintegration amounts for three samples to be measured is regarded as the disintegration amount at 20-fold swelling of the water-absorbent resin.
ABSORBER AND DISPOSABLE DIAPER
A sheet-like absorber including: a channel portion that is formed over an entire length of one sheet face; a first absorption layer that forms another sheet face; and plural second absorption layers that form the one sheet face, wherein, where the first absorption layer and the second absorption layers are each fiber layers formed of heat-fusible fibers and have an absorbent polymer incorporated inside the fiber layers, a content of the absorbent polymer per unit area in the second absorption layers is greater than a content of the absorbent polymer per unit area in the first absorption layer, and a more durable hydrophilicity for maintaining hydrophilicity of the fibers is imparted to fibers that form portions of the second absorption layers on an opposite side from a first absorption layer side than to fibers that form portions of the second absorption layers on the first absorption layer side.
DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT PANTS WITH CONTAINMENT SYSTEM
An absorbent pant is provided with a containment system defined by a wearing-facing surface of the absorbent pant. The containment system comprises at least one of the following: a pleated section comprising a plurality of pleats; a channeled section comprising a plurality of alternating ridges and channels; and/or a bubbled section comprising a plurality of hemispherical-shaped bubbles aligned in a plurality of rows.
ABSORBENT PADS AND GARMENTS
A pad for a garment includes a body and capping. The body has a front, a rear and a periphery and includes one or more absorbent layers for absorbing liquid and a gas-permeable barrier overlying the one or more absorbent layers to block the liquid. The capping runs along and caps at least a portion of the periphery to block the liquid. The capping has a front portion overlying the front, a rear portion overlying the rear, and a mounting portion, projecting away from the body, for mounting the pad.
Absorbent article with strong and weak bonded portions
An absorbent article includes an absorber including cells, each of which is surrounded by bonded portions of a front surface side sheet and a back surface side sheet and in each of which the front surface side sheet and the back surface side seat are not bonded, and including superabsorbent polymer particles contained in each of the cells. The bonded portions are arranged in dotted line shapes according to a pattern in which same-sized octagonal portions having all interior angles of 135°, and having two pairs of opposite sides whose facing directions are mutually orthogonal are equal in length, and diamond-shaped portions each having equal length of all sides and being formed in portions among the octagonal portions, are arranged without any space in the front-back direction (LD) or the width direction (WD).
URINE QUANTIFYING BED PAD
An absorbent pad including a top layer. The top layer including a first sheet, the first sheet including an outward face and an inward face, wherein the first sheet comprises a wicking material, the first sheet further including a volume approximation grid having a plurality of fluid volume estimation regions. The top layer including a second sheet, the second sheet comprising an absorbent material, the second sheet attached to the inward face of the first sheet. The absorbent pad including a bottom layer including an outward face and an inward face, the inward face of the bottom layer attached to the second sheet. The absorbent pad including a visual fluid indicator disposed on at least a portion of the top layer or the bottom layer.
INCONTINENCE AND MENSTRUAL APPAREL
Disclosed are apparel designed for use during menstrual cycle, incontinence or when involuntary discharge of bodily fluids is expected. Various styles of absorbent undergarments with various layering and structures therein are disclosed. In one embodiment, the disclosed absorbent undergarments include one or more absorbent liners. The absorbent liners can have one or more hydrophilic layers and one or more breathable, waterproof layers in the crotch region of the undergarments.
