ABSORBENT STRUCTURE COMPRISING CO-FORMED LAYER
An absorbent structure is disclosed, which may be or form part of an absorbent core of an absorbent article. The structure has a caliper, a fluid-receiving side and a non-receiving side. The non-receiving side occupies a first x-y plane; the receiving side occupies a second x-y plane. The structure has a first zone constituting a first portion of the caliper proximate the non-receiving side, and a second zone constituting a second portion of the caliper proximate the receiving side. Each of the zones includes a co-formed blend of constituents. The blend may include AGM particles, spun filaments and/or cellulose fibers. In examples including AGM particles, particles in the first zone may have an average particle size smaller than that of particles in the second zone. In examples including filaments, filaments in the first zone may have an average filament size smaller than that of the filaments in the second zone.
ABSORBENT CORE COMPRISING A HIGH LOFT CENTRAL LAYER AND SUPERABSORBENT PARTICLES
An absorbent core (28) for use in an absorbent article (20) having a high loft central layer (43) between a top layer and a bottom layer and superabsorbent particles (SAP) at least partially distributed within the high loft layer. The superabsorbent polymer particles have a time to reach an uptake of 20 g/g (SAP T20) of less than 220 s, and/or the absorbent core has a time to reach an uptake of 15 g/g (Core T15) of less than 200 s, and/or the absorbent core has a permeability (core K20) of more than 6.0×10.sup.−8 cm.sup.2. These properties are measured according to the K(t) Test Method as described in the application.
Unitary absorbent structures comprising an absorbent core and/or an acquisition and dispersion layer for absorbent articles
The present invention relates to a unitary absorbent structure and method thereof wherein said unitary absorbent structure comprises an absorbent core (5) and/or an acquisition and dispersion layers (2) (3) and comprising at least one non-woven fibrous substrate layer (23) having a void volume suitable to be penetrated by super absorbent particles. The super absorbent particles are dispersed in the substrate layer (23) according to a size distribution gradient by vacuum (8) and vibration along the depth direction or z-direction of said absorbent core (5) and/or acquisition (2) and dispersion (3) layers, the smaller particles are placed on the bodyside of the absorbent articles and the larger particles are located on the opposite side of the absorbent articles.
Unitary absorbent structures comprising an absorbent core and/or an acquisition and dispersion layer for absorbent articles
The present invention relates to a unitary absorbent structure and method thereof wherein said unitary absorbent structure comprises an absorbent core (5) and/or an acquisition (2) and dispersion (3) layer, said absorbent core (5) and/or an acquisition (2) and dispersion (3) layer comprising at least one non-woven fibrous substrate layer (23) having a void volume suitable to be penetrated by super absorbent particles, characterized in that said super absorbent particles are dispersed in the substrate layer (23) according to a size distribution gradient along the depth direction or z-direction of said absorbent core (5) and/or acquisition (2) and dispersion (3) layers.
Machine and method for making absorbent sanitary articles
A machine for making absorbent sanitary articles including an absorbent pad with at least one discrete layer of superabsorbent polymer material includes a unit for forming and applying a succession of absorbent pads, which includes a drum for forming the pad, a duct for feeding a charge of superabsorbent polymer material to the drum and intermittent valve mounted along a stretch of the duct and driven by an actuator. A device detects the superabsorbent polymer material and sends a signal to a control and drive unit connected to the device indicating that the superabsorbent polymer material has been detected. The control and drive unit is configured to drive the actuator to bring the valve into phase with the rotation of the drum when the deviation of the signal from a reference signal exceeds a defined threshold value.
TOPSHEET LAMINATES WITH TACKIFIER-FREE ADHESIVE
Absorbent articles having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the liquid permeable topsheet and the liquid impermeable backsheet is presented. The absorbent article further has an acquisition layer positioned between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The topsheet and the acquisition layer are joined by an adhesive to form a laminate, wherein the adhesive is substantially tackifier-free.
Meltfusion bonded absorbant structure comprising fibres and superabsorbant particles method for manufacturing such structure
The present invention is an absorbent structure comprising a fibrous matrix (110), meltfusionable material and superabsorbent polymer particles (140). The absorbent structure is bonded by a meltfusion bond point (200) pattern, which is preferably created by ultrasonic welding.
Sanitary article and method for making the same
A sanitary article includes an absorbent pad including an upper sheet layer, a lower sheet layer, and a pulp-and-SAP powder layer combination. The powder layer combination is constituted by alternate layers of pulverized pulp and superabsorbent polymer (SAP) powder. A method for making the sanitary article is also disclosed.
Absorbent article having absorbent body and diffusion layer
