Absorbent articles and methods of making the same

Methods of making disposable absorbent articles are herein. The method includes the steps: obtaining a carrier web; obtaining first absorbent core web and a second absorbent core web; cutting the first absorbent core web in a nesting configuration thereby forming a plurality of discrete first absorbent cores; cutting the second absorbent core web in a nesting configuration thereby forming a plurality of discrete second absorbent cores; joining a discrete second absorbent core to a discrete first absorbent core and to the carrier web, thereby forming a laminate structure web, wherein a leading edge of the discrete first absorbent core is spaced from a leading edge of the discrete second absorbent core in the machine direction; joining a backsheet web to the laminate structure web thereby forming an absorbent article web; and cutting the absorbent article web into a plurality of discrete absorbent articles.

Folded disposable absorbent articles

Disposable absorbent articles are disclosed herein having a first and second fold line. The disposable absorbent articles have a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent system disposed therebetween. The absorbent system has a first absorbent core and a second absorbent core which may be configured in an offset manner. And, the absorbent system and/or the first and second fold lines may be configured with respect to the absorbent article to effect a caliper change in the folded article.

Absorbent article with multi-layer folded absorbent core

Absorbent laminates and multi-layer, folded absorbent cores comprising the absorbent laminates for use in absorbent articles are presented. Specifically, multi-layer, folded absorbent cores are presented that are formed from an absorbent laminate comprising an absorbent layer between two tissue layers, in which the absorbent core includes a central channel running longitudinally along the core and crenellations profiled along the thickness of the core and providing enhanced liquid distribution across the core surface area or profile and improved liquid absorption into the laminate.

Absorbent article with recessed body conforming structure

An absorbent article includes a body side liner, a back sheet, an absorbent body positioned between the body side liner and the back sheet, and a distribution layer positioned between the absorbent body and the back sheet. The absorbent body defines a first opening having an opening length that is at least 50% the absorbent body length. The first opening has a median anterior portion width that is greater than a median central portion width that is greater than a median posterior portion width. The first opening includes a well, a channel, and a taper. The well transitions into the channel via a first convex transition and a concave transition. The channel transitions into the taper via a second convex transition.

DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH PROFILED ABSORBENT CORE

A disposable absorbent article has a central body defining a first waist end region including a first end edge, a second waist end region spaced longitudinally from the first waist end region and including a second end edge, and a crotch region positioned therebetween. An absorbent core is situated between the end edges, and includes a plurality of elastics incorporated therewith such that the core is substantially lat-erally contracted in a narrowed region about the elastics. The absorbent core includes at least one end region that is sub-stantially non-elasticized and has a lateral width substantially wider than that of the narrowed region.

DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING A CORE WITH MULTIPLE LAMINATES

Disposable absorbent articles suitable for providing leakage protection for users that experience relatively small to relatively large discharges of fluids are described. The article includes a primary topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent system disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent system includes a first absorbent core and a second absorbent core, and wherein the primary topsheet and at least the first absorbent core include a plurality of recessed areas.
