OSSICULAR REPLACEMENT PROTHESIS WITH CONTROLLABLE STAPEDIAL CONFORMING FUNCTION, MANUFACTURE METHOD THEREOF AND APPLICATOR DEVICE THEREFOR
A system for partial ossicular replacement with controllable stapedial engaging function is described; a respective process of manufacturing a partial ossicular replacement prosthesis with controllable stapedial engaging function and a partial ossicular replacement prosthesis are further described; the system comprises: a partial ossicular replacement prosthesis comprising a stapedial part and a tympanic part, an applicator device comprising a handpiece, an essentially planar static face, an elongated essentially cylindrically shaped plunger; the process comprises: providing a preform of at least stapedial part, forming a plurality of elongated cuts, shaping a centrical portion, shaping a distal portion; the partial ossicular replacement prosthesis comprises a stapedial part and a tympanic part.
PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE DEVICES AND METHODS OF VALVE REPAIR
A mechanism for adjusting the chordae connecting the leaflets of a mitral valve to the papillary muscles in order to restore normal functioning of the mitral valve. The devices or mechanisms can correct problems associated with both prolapsed leaflets and restricted leaflets to allow the leaflets to properly coapt, thereby preventing or minimizing regurgitation. In accordance with the invention, the mechanisms or devices used for adjusting the chordae can be delivered and implanted in a minimally invasive and/or percutaneous manner, such as via transapical methods, transfermoral methods, or trans-septal methods.
Anchor apparatus
An anchor for anchoring tensile members to bone includes: a housing extending along a central axis, with a hollow interior; a collet in the hollow interior having a central bore for accepting tensile members and an exterior surface, the collet being configured to swage around and against tensile members; a sleeve having a peripheral wall defining interior and exterior surfaces, the sleeve disposed in the housing's hollow interior axially adjacent to the collet, and movable parallel to the central axis between first and second positions; and wherein at least one of the collet exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface is tapered and the sleeve and the collet are arranged so movement of the sleeve from the first position to the second position causes the sleeve interior surface to bear against the collet exterior surface, causing the collet to swage radially inwards around and against one or more tensile members.
Actively controllable stent, stent graft, heart valve and method of controlling same
A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame, a valve, and an expansion element. The frame is movable between contracted and expanded configurations and includes first struts and second struts non-hingedly coupled together. The second struts are configured to pivot relative to the first struts as the frame moves between the contracted and expanded configurations. The valve is coupled to the frame and includes leaflets. The expansion element extends through a lumen of the first struts. The expansion element is slidable relative to the lumen of the first struts and is configured to move the frame incrementally from the contracted configuration and the expanded configuration and from the expanded configuration to the contracted configuration.
TRI-LOCK ADJUSTABLE BUTTON LOOP
A suture assembly, including a button having two apertures and a suture defining a lumen and forming a double loop, formed by a double trap having a first end and a second end, opposed to the button. A first portion of the suture is threaded through the trap from the first end to the second end, and a second portion of the suture is threaded through the trap from the second end to the first end. The assembly further defines a first single trap, in which the first portion of the suture is threaded through the lumen between the second end and the button. Also defined by the assembly is a third trap, in which the second portion of the suture is threaded through the lumen between the first end and the button. Finally, the double loop is threaded through the two apertures of the button.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TISSUE SUSPENSION AND COMPRESSION
Suture passer systems for tissue suspension and tissue compression are described. The system can include a shaft and a needle, wherein the needle is freely rotatable with respect to the shaft. The suture may include an overmolded segment. Methods of placing one or more implants, sutures, fastener, bone anchors and other devices are also described. The methods include moving tissue, including the superior pharyngeal constrictor muscle, palatopharyngeal arch, and palatoglossal arch. The methods include hyoid bone suspension.
Adjustable length infusion cannula
Certain embodiments provide an adjustable length infusion cannula having a cannula including a first proximal end and a first distal end, and a hub having a second proximal end, a second distal end, and a central aperture that extends between the second proximal end and the second distal end. The central aperture is configured to accept the first distal end of the cannula and allow the cannula upward movement and downward movement through the hub. The adjustable length infusion cannula also includes a locking mechanism configured to lock the cannula within the hub such that the first distal end extends a first distance past the second distal end of the hub.
Apparatus and methods for ocular injection
An apparatus includes a housing coupled to a medicament container, which is coupled to a needle. An injection assembly is disposed within the housing and includes an energy storage member and an actuation rod. A distal end portion of the actuation rod is disposed within the medicament container. The energy storage member can produce a force on a proximal end portion of the actuation rod sufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container. This can convey at least a portion of a substance from the medicament container via the needle when a distal tip of the needle is disposed within a first region of a target location. The force is insufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container when the distal tip of the needle is disposed within a second region of the target location.
VARIABLE SLING FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE
The present invention relates to apparatus for treating urinary incontinence in a patient. In the apparatus, there is at least one adjustable lifting device adapted to lift the urethra or neck of the urine bladder, thereby affecting the patient’s incontinence. The lifting device is provided with first and second fixation devices and an interconnecting part extending uninterruptedly between the first and second fixation devices.
GUIDED ADVANCEMENT OF AN IMPLANT
A tissue-engaging element is advanced to a heart, while coupled to a guide member. The tissue-engaging element is then coupled to tissue of the heart. An elongate implant is subsequently slid distally along the guide member toward the tissue-engaging element, and the elongate implant is subsequently locked to the tissue-engaging element. Other embodiments are also described.
