ENDOPROSTHESES WITH INTERLOCKING STENTS HAVING VARYING STIFFNESS
20230050078 · 2023-02-16 ·

An endoprosthesis having a length, a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis is disclosed herein, where the endoprosthesis is expandable from a compact, delivery configuration to an enlarged, deployed configuration. The endoprosthesis includes a plurality of rows of stent elements along the length of the endoprosthesis, where the plurality of rows include a first row and a second row located adjacent to the first row. The first row of stent elements has a first plurality of alternating apices, and the second row of stent elements has a second plurality of alternating apices. The first and second pluralities of alternating apices define a spaced apart, interlocking arrangement. The endoprosthesis also includes a discontinuous web of material comprising a plurality of web elements spaced from one another and interconnecting the first and second pluralities of alternating apices. The plurality of web elements are arranged along a first, common circumference such that the plurality of web elements restrict torsion and axial compression of the endoprosthesis between the first and second rows of stent elements when the endoprosthesis is in the enlarged, deployed configuration.

Atraumatic stent and method and apparatus for making the same

A method of braiding a stent includes braiding a number of elongate filaments around a mandrel using tensioned braiding carriers without spooling the filaments to the tensioned braiding carriers to form a braided stent having atraumatic ends.

In some embodiments, a real-time event is detected and context is determined based on the real-time event. An application model is fetched based on the context and meta-data associated with the real-time event, the application model referencing a micro-function and including pre-condition and post-condition descriptors. A graph is constructed based on the micro-function. The micro-function is transformed into micro-capabilities by determining a computing resource for execution of a micro-capability by matching pre-conditions and post-conditions of the micro-capability, and enabling execution and configuration of the micro-capability on the computing resource by providing access in a target environment to an API capable of calling the micro-capability to configure and execute the micro-capability. A request is received from the target environment to execute and configure the micro-capability on the computing resource. The micro-capability is executed and configured on the computing resource, and an output of the micro-capability is provided to the target environment.

A prosthetic mitral valve includes an anchor assembly, an annular strut frame, and a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame. The anchor assembly includes a ventricular anchor, an atrial anchor, and a central portion therebetween. The annular strut frame is disposed radially within the anchor assembly. An atrial end of the annular strut frame is attached to the anchor assembly such that a ventricular end of the annular strut frame is spaced away from the anchor assembly.

PERSONALIZED PROSTHESIS AND METHODS OF USE

A personalized prosthesis for implantation at a treatment site of a patient includes a self-expanding mesh or membrane having collapsed and expanded configurations. The collapsed configuration is adapted to be delivered to the treatment site, and the expanded configuration engages the personalized prosthesis with the treatment site. The mesh or membrane is personalized to match the treatment site in the expanded configuration, and has an outer surface that substantially matches the treatment site shape and size. The self-expanding mesh or membrane forms a central lumen configured to allow blood or other body fluids to flow therethrough. Methods of manufacturing and delivery of the personalized prosthesis are also disclosed.

STENT PUSHER ASSEMBLY

Provided is a stent pusher assembly for positioning a ureteral stent, the stent pusher assembly having an inner and outer stent pusher. The stent pusher assembly positions the ureteral stent in a patient's kidney and bladder without a bladder fixing portion of the stent entering a ureteral passage-way, thereby minimizing irritation to the patient.

Actively controllable stent, stent graft, heart valve and method of controlling same

A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame, a valve, and an expansion element. The frame is movable between contracted and expanded configurations and includes first struts and second struts non-hingedly coupled together. The second struts are configured to pivot relative to the first struts as the frame moves between the contracted and expanded configurations. The valve is coupled to the frame and includes leaflets. The expansion element extends through a lumen of the first struts. The expansion element is slidable relative to the lumen of the first struts and is configured to move the frame incrementally from the contracted configuration and the expanded configuration and from the expanded configuration to the contracted configuration.

MULTI-STAGE BALLOON CATHETER, AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME IN A CURVED PASSAGEWAY
20180008444 · 2018-01-11 ·

A multi-stage balloon catheter has a deflated state, a first inflation state at a first pressure and a second inflation state at a higher fluid pressure. In the first inflation state, the multi-stage balloon has a plurality of bulb segments separated by waist hoops that allow the multi-stage balloon to conform to match the curvature of a passageway. When pressure is increased in the multi-stage balloon from the first inflation state to the second inflation state, the waist locations expand either by breaking or stretching the waist restraints or by overcoming expansion resistance incorporated into the balloon material at the waist locations. The multi-stage balloon catheter may be used to implant a stent in a manner to conform and match a curved passageway rather than tending to straighten the passageway.

Thrombus Management And Structural Compliance Features For Prosthetic Heart Valves

A prosthetic heart valve can include an outer support assembly, an inner valve assembly, which define between them an annular space, and a pocket closure that bounds the annular space to form a pocket in which thrombus can be formed and retained. Alternatively, or additionally, the outer support assembly and the inner valve assembly can be coupled at the ventricle ends of the outer support assembly and the inner valve assembly, with the outer support assembly being relatively more compliant in hoop compression in a central, annulus portion than at the ventricle end, so that the prosthetic valve can seat securely in the annulus while imposing minimal loads on the inner valve assembly that could degrade the performance of the valve leaflets.
