EXOSUIT HAVING ADJUSTABLE MODULAR STRAPS AND BANDS
A wearable assistance device, such as an exosuit/exoskeleton, for providing assistance (e.g., assistive force or assistive torque) while reducing lower back muscle stress, fatigue, injury risk and/or pain is disclosed. The wearable assistance device includes adjustable modular straps and/or elastic bands. The modular straps allow swapping of different straps to achieve a custom fit of the wearable assistance device. The modular elastic bands allow swapping of different elastic bands to achieve a preferred level of assistance by the wearable assistance device.
Posture Control and Therapy System
A garment for wear by a person and a garment system of garments includes bands and elastic portions to apply tension and support to muscle groups when the garment is worn by a wearer. The garments include a vest with crossed back bands within the garment that are selectively fastenable to the exterior of the vest to exert tension from the shoulders to the hips. Also included is a cape with shoulder straps and hip straps to apply further tension when attached to the vest or another garment. A shirt includes a central back panel and one or more shoulder straps, the central panel extending to side straps at the hip. Shorts with a spiral strap apply tension from the body core to the leg of the wearer. Shirts and tops for women including for maternity wear include support specific to a woman's body. Some of the shirts, tops, shorts and vests have wearer adjustable straps to vary the tension applied by the straps. Auxiliary straps with fasteners are available for applying additional tension when mounted on the garments.
Core training suit for scoliosis
A core muscle strengthening suit for scoliosis is described. The suit uses pieces of material constructed and assembled to transfer force generated by the wearer while walking to rotate the wearer's trunk in the direction of an existing axial twist to exercise and strengthen countervailing muscles in an attempt to maintain a normal gait. The resulting stronger rotational muscles persist in pulling the wearer's spine into alignment when the suit is removed.
Shoulder Brace Device
A shoulder brace device includes: a torso band, an arm band, and a brace mechanism, such that the brace mechanism is configured to connect to the torso band and the arm band; wherein the brace mechanism includes a ball joint assembly, such that the shoulder brace device enables free range of movement; wherein the brace mechanism can be locked in place or tightened for reduced range of movement.
REHABILITATION DEVICE TO CORRECT POSTURE
A device and corresponding method to position a patient’s shoulders and hips into a proper posture alignment for neuromuscular re-education and rehabilitation is disclosed. The device may include a base for supporting a back of a patient, the base extending along a length in a longitudinal direction and a width in a lateral direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The device may include a first adjustable pad and a second adjustable pad opposite the first adjustable pad, and each of the first and second adjustable pads may be configured to independently move towards and away from the base in a vertical direction thereby urging respective shoulders of the patient against the base. The device may further include an adjustable strap configured to surround the waist and/or hips of the patient and thereby urge the patient against the base.
Adjustable Posture Resistance Band
An adjustable posture resistance band is an apparatus that is used to strengthen posture with wear and exercise. The apparatus includes a left trap band, a right trap band, at least one ring, a left abdominal strap, and a right abdominal strap. The left trap band and the right trap band wrap around the shoulders creating tension against which the user can work to strengthen postural musculature. The at least one ring connects the left trap band with the right trap band. The left abdominal strap and the right abdominal strap wrap around the back to the abdominal region to safely position the trap bands in the axilla and enhance comfort. The left trap band and the right trap band are each length adjustable from the shoulders to the chest with a fastener mechanism. The left abdominal strap and the right abdominal strap are each length-adjustable around the abdominal region.
Trunk supporting exoskeleton and method of use
A trunk supporting exoskeleton comprises: a supporting trunk; thigh links configured to move in unison with a wearer's thighs; and first and second torque generators located on both left and right halves of the wearer substantially close to the wearer's hip. The torque generators couple the supporting trunk to the thigh links, and generate torque between the thigh links and the supporting trunk. When the wearer bends forward such that a predetermined portion of the supporting trunk passes beyond a predetermined angle from vertical, a torque generator(s) imposes a resisting torque between the supporting trunk and the thigh link(s), causing the supporting trunk to impose a force against the wearer's trunk, and the thigh link(s) to impose a force onto the wearer's thigh. When the predetermined portion does not pass beyond the predetermined angle, the torque generators impose no resisting torques between said supporting trunk and respective thigh links.
Device for Assistance in Carrying Loads
A device for load bearing support with a hip belt with an inner side for application in contact on the body of a person, and an outer side, with a first end and a second end which are connectable with one another by means of a closure element, wherein the hip belt comprises a back element for application in contact on a section of the back of the person, and wherein on the back element a first hip belt section is disposed, wherein on the outer side of the first hip belt section at least one, outwardly projecting first deposition element or elements is or are disposed at such distance from the back element that in condition of application in contact on the body of the person it is or they are disposed laterally on the body of the person.
HELMET SUPPORT EXOSKELETON (HSE) AND HARNESS THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a helmet support exoskeleton and harness therefor that allow offloading the weight of head mounted equipment such as helmets and other equipment related to helmets in order to prevent and reduce neck fatigue, strain, and injuries without causing discomfort or impeding mobility of an operator. Through the use of a helmet- and harness-mounted linkage assembly, the weight is translated from an operator's head to his or her torso. This further allows the operator to wear additional and heavier equipment without causing discomforts and reduces the risk of neck injuries.
Scoliosis Brace
A scoliosis support system designed to relieve pain and improve spinal balance in scoliosis patients with different curve types is disclosed as a tension-based scoliosis orthosis, known as a scoliosis brace or bracing system, that comprises a back panel having a Y shape formed of three sections and a central portion, each section having a rigid de-rotational pad at the section's distal end, and the sections are joined to and/or at the central portion. This scoliosis brace includes inelastic straps adapted to be connected to the de-rotational pads and to be attached to a front of a lumbar belt adapted to be attached to the central portion of the back panel. The bracing system is adapted for multiple types and degrees of adjustment to accommodate different sizes and deformations, adapting the brace to be fitted and adjusted to multiple scoliosis curve types and patient characteristics.
