Head Stabilizer Device
A head stabilizer device includes a hood having a front, a back, an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a perimeter edge extending between the interior surface and the exterior surface. The interior surface is concave. A tail is elongated having a first end coupled to the back of the hood wherein the tail extends downwardly from the back of the hood. The tail has a length for extending between a seat and buttocks of the person such that the tail is taut extending from the seat to the head such that an upper front section of the perimeter edge of the hood extends across the head of the person to inhibit the head from tilting forward.
IMMOBILISATION ELEMENT AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
This invention relates to a method for manufacturing an individualized immobilization element for the non-invasive immobilization and/or mobilization of at least a segment of a body part of a patient in a predetermined position relative to a reference and/or in a pre-certain configuration. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a data set that comprises a three-dimensional image of an outer contour of at least a part of the segment of the body part to be immobilized and/or mobilized and (ii) the manufacture of at least a part of the immobilization element by rapid manufacturing of a shape on the basis of said data set using a polymeric material containing a thermoplastic polymer having a melting point less than or equal to 100° C., wherein the polymer material contains a nucleating agent for enhancing the of the crystallization of the thermoplastic polymer.
HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system for a patient to be exposed to a radiation beam is disclosed. The system includes a patient support panel and a head restraint assembly in the form of a face mask to which plural clips are secured. The patient support panel includes plural connectors, which may include fixed or adjustable connectors. The clips include are configured to engage the plural connectors in a snap-on manner, without the need for tools or separate fastening devices.
Head and jaw immobilization device
Methods of immobilizing the head of a patient include heating a thermoplastic mask preform to a formable temperature, forming the thermoplastic mask over at least a mouth of the patient, and pushing a mouth receiving end of a bite piece into a portion of the thermoplastic mask preform that is positioned over the mouth of the patient, which moves the portion of the thermoplastic mask preform into the mouth of the patient. The methods also include allowing the thermoplastic mask preform to cool from the formable temperature, causing the portion of the thermoplastic mask moved into the mouth of the patient to harden.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING USER POSITION USING MULTI-COMPARTMENT BLADDERS
A method includes receiving data associated with a sleep session of a user. The method also includes determining that the user is experiencing or has experienced an event based at least in part on the data. The method also includes causing pressurized air to be directed from a respiratory device to a multi-compartment bladder in response to determining that the user is experiencing or has experienced the event to aid in modifying a position of a head of the user.
ASSEMBLY FOR HELPING TO RESTRAIN A SUBJECT
A head restraint assembly includes a restraint platform configured to receive a head of a subject. First and second head restraints are attached to the restraint platform and configured to selectively engage first and second sides of the subject's head. The first head restraint has a first cheekbone flange configured to selectively engage a cheekbone region of the subject's head on the first side of the subject's head. The second head restraint has a second cheekbone flange configured to selectively engage a cheekbone region of the subject's head on the second side of the subject's head. A cheekbone strap extends between the first and second cheekbone flanges and is configured for selectively tightening the cheekbone flanges against the subject's cheekbone regions. The cheekbone strap is configured to be spaced from the subject's head when the subject's head is restrained by the head restraint assembly.
Accessory device, a patient immobilization system, and a method of forming a patient immobilization system
An accessory device and an immobilization system including the device are provided for positioning at least a portion of a patient's body relative to an immobilization device including a low temperature thermoplastic sheet. The accessory device may include a patient fixation portion and a lock portion. The patient fixation portion is attached to or inserted in the patient during use. The lock portion may extend distally from the patient fixation portion generally along a lock portion axis. The lock portion includes a shape, surface feature, or configuration, such that the low temperature thermoplastic sheet may be conformed to the outer surface of the lock portion of the accessory device, such that unintended separation of the accessory device from the low temperature thermoplastic sheet is prevented. Methods of forming the accessory device and immobilization system are also provided.
Head and neck support apparatus
A neck support apparatus has a frame with a pair of risers spaced apart from each other and each having a bottom end and a top end. The frame is positioned on the back of a wearer. A harness maintains the frame in position. A flexible panel spans between the two risers. The shape of the two risers, the initial tautness of the flexible panel, and the material of the flexible panel, and other factors, contribute to the shape of the support surface that the flexible surface presents to the head and neck of a wearer of the apparatus. The flexible panel provides support to the head and neck of a wearer when the head of the wearer is tilted back, such as when a person is doing overhead work.
Disposable kit
Arrangements described herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a disposable kit containing medical items configured for a medical device including a head cradle to support a head of a subject, the disposable kit includes a container that encloses a head cradle pad configured to be affixed to the head cradle, at least one fiducial marker configured to be disposed on a location at the head of the subject, and at least one enclosure configured to cover a portion of the medical device.
