ARM SUPPORT
20230028751 · 2023-01-26 ·

Various embodiments of an arm support are disclosed. An arm support may include a support member having a forearm section and an elbow section. An arm support may have a plurality of opposed longitudinal slots adapted for engagement with releasably attachable straps for securing the arm support to a person's forearm. A support member may bend upwardly at a transition point between the forearm section and the elbow section. A forearm pad may be attached to the forearm section. An elbow pad may be attached to the elbow section. The elbow pad may include an upwardly inclined surface. A support member may include a concave upper surface. An arm support may be useful to prevent hyperflexion or hyperextension, such as hyperextension of the elbow joint of a bowler.

NON-FIXED SHOULDER BRACE

A non-fixed shoulder brace is provided comprising: an affected shoulder support which is supported on an affected shoulder of a wearer; a waist support coupled to the wearer's waist; an affected arm mounting part in which the wearer's affected arm is inserted and which is supported by means of an affected shoulder strap member from the affected shoulder support; and an affected upper limb exercise assistance apparatus coupled to both ends of the waist support and disposed between the wearer's waist and the affected arm mounting part.

A DEVICE FOR ASSISTING WITH EXTENSION AND/OR FLEXION

A device is provided for manipulating an arm of a user, thereby providing extension or flexion assistance to the arm about an elbow. The device has an arm engagement system, having an upper arm member with an upper arm frame having a pivot end and a distal end, a posterior elbow pad, a forearm member with a forearm frame having a pivot end and a distal end and a distal wrist pad, and a pivoting connection operatively coupled with the pivot end of the upper arm frame and the pivot end of the forearm frame. A force application system having a force applicator is connected between the distal end and the pivot end of the forearm frame. A force application mechanism is connected at or near the distal end of the upper arm frame.

Pediatric lithotomy positioning splint

A positioning splint for safely and securely positioning a pediatric patient into a lithotomy position. The splint comprises a toroid, wedge-shaped splint having an anterior and posterior jaw which is attached to shoulder straps or a jacket/vest that holds the splint in place during use. The wedge splint and shoulder attachments are padded. The wedge splint may have a disposable covering. Methods of using the splint to position a patient for urinary catheterization as well as for other procedures, exams and surgeries requiring unobstructed access to the perineal and anorectal areas. Additional wrist/hand and ankle/leg straps are used for conscious patients who are uncooperative or incompetent patients or in the case of a patient with involuntary movement disorders.

Dynamic arm brace assemblies and methods of use

Dynamic arm brace assemblies and methods of use are provided herein. An example device includes a torso connection member securable to a torso of a patient, a forearm support member that couples with at least a forearm of an patient, the forearm support member couples with the torso connection member so as to fix an elbow of the patient proximate the torso, the forearm support member being pivotally coupled to the torso connection member to allow for an angle between the forearm support member and a coronal plane of the patient, and a dynamic tensioning assembly that externally rotates the forearm support member and selectively sets the angle so as to stretch a shoulder capsule (capsule and adjacent tissue(s)) affected with adhesive capsulitis, reducing the adhesive capsulitis.

System and method for infant swaddle transition and alternative

The disclosure provides infant swaddling device or system in the form of two sleeves to help dampen the moro reflex—one for each arm—with the option of a non-flexible backing (or splint) and weighting. This device safely mimics the swaddling effect by adequately reducing the moro (twitching) reflex and flailing of arms, thus helping baby sleep for longer periods of time. The infant swaddle device may eliminate or reduce the risk of suffocation or overheating that other swaddle transition suits, garments, methods, or devices pose. This device can be used as a swaddle alternative; in conjunction of a swaddle blanket or sack, pod, etc. or without; or as a transition device to easily wean infants from the swaddle.

REMOVABLE PARTIAL ARM RESTRAINT

The present invention is an arm restraint used in dialysis primarily when the fistula is located at or near the elbow. The restraint supports the arm and allows a limited amount of movement of the restrained arm to mitigate discomfort during a dialysis procedure, while simultaneously allowing unrestricted blood flow in the supported arm. The restraint includes an adjustable fastener that allows the restraint to be attached to the upper arm in a loose and adjustable manner. The restraint includes a cover at its lower end that allows a limited degree of arm movement. It also includes an open upper area that enables access to the arm for placement and adjustment of dialysis syringes and associated tubing.

Intended to prevent self-extubation of nasal or oral tubes of an awake patient who may reflexively attempt removal of such and allow the early mobilization and exercise necessary for preservation of as much muscle strength as possible, promotion of diaphragmatic motion necessary for liberation from a ventilator, reduction of patient stress allowing for sedation minimization and improved cognition for reduction of delirium and post-intensive care syndrome, and relief of medical staff and healthcare dollars to focus more on healthcare rather than on protection from self-harm.
