Hand elevation device and methods of use

A hand elevation device is described that can position and secure a recovering hand and/or wrist for improved recovery. For example, the hand elevation device can secure a hand and/or wrist that has been operated on or injured in a therapeutic position. The therapeutic position can include the hand being positioned above an elevation line. The elevation line can include a horizontal line that intersects the heart of the user wearing the hand elevation device.

Shoulder sling with air abduction pad

A sling includes a strap assembly, and arm support cushion that includes: an inflatable bladder, valve, and hand-squeezable pump. The bladder has first and second surfaces corresponding to contours of the wearer's torso and arm, respectively. The valve permits air flow into or out from the bladder. The resilient bulb-shaped pump is squeezed to inflate the bladder, through the valve being in fluid communication with a hose, providing greater reach of the hand pump for each of the wearer's left/right hands. Alternatively, the bladder has first and second valves positioned on first and second sides of the bladder permitting left/right-handed use of the pump. The bladder's interior includes high-inflation foam to suck air therein to increase a rate of inflation of the bladder from a deflated condition. Decoupling of the resilient pump permits repetitive squeezing as exercise by the user. and/or blowing of air onto the wearer's arm.

Shoulder and arm restraint
11638656 · 2023-05-02 · ·

A therapeutic orthopedic device is described. The orthopedic device serves to restrain and limit movement of a human arm and shoulder. The device comprises a torso pillow, a padded forearm support attached to the pillow and a shoulder strap that traverses the clavicle region of the opposite shoulder. The pillow is positioned to rest against the torso of a user and the strap is positioned over the opposite shoulder. The forearm support acts as a shelf upon which the user's forearm may rest in a natural position. Flexible straps extend from the forearm support, over the user's forearm, and engage with the pillow to secure the forearm.

COOLING GARMENTS, WARMING GARMENTS, AND RELATED METHODS
20170367917 · 2017-12-28 ·

The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.

ARM SLING AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME

An arm sling includes a flat, elongated strap having a first end and a second end; a ring structure attached to the first end; and a double loop structure having a first loop and a second loop. The second end can extend through the first loop structure, then through the second loop structure, then back through the second loop structure, then through the first loop structure to define an arm loop and a remaining portion of the strap between the double loop structure and the second end. The second end can extend through the ring structure and attach to the remaining portion via an attachment element to define a shoulder loop.

Selectively adjustable arm and shoulder support

A contouring arm and shoulder support is provided that is secured to a supporting and stabilizing belt. The support system includes a belt support and an arm support that are operably interconnected and yet easily disassociated. The arm support provides dynamic support that allows the patient to move their injured arm if needed.

Arm sling apparatus and method

A system and method is used to monitor, control, and/or provide feedback relative to one or more factors related to a patient's body, such as a shoulder, pursuant to a treatment process. The system monitors, controls, and/or provides feedback relative to shoulder factors including shoulder motion, shoulder muscle contraction, and external pressure on the shoulder.

TUBE SUPPORT

A support for supporting a portion, external to a patient, of a tube partly embedded in the patient. The support includes a torso embracing portion for embracing a torso of the patient. The support also includes one or more tube holding portions for holding the tube. The tube holding portion(s) are fixable to, or part of, the torso holding portion.
