A patient securing overlay is provided that includes a sheet of fabric for supporting a patient's torso on a surgical table. The sheet of fabric has an upper surface configured to face the patient and a lower surface configured to face a surgical table mattress or underbody support. The sheet of fabric includes friction enhancing elements applied to at least a portion of the upper surface thereof. The sheet of fabric can include an extension at a foot end of the sheet of fabric that provides material to be tucked under a foot end of the surgical table mattress or underbody support for securing the foot end of the sheet of fabric to the surgical table mattress or underbody support. The extension can include one or more friction enhancing elements.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A BODY PART
Apparatus and methods for positioning a body part of a patient. An apparatus can comprise a portable support structure configured to be placed on a patient support surface under a body part of a patient and retention elements attached to the support structure. At least a portion of the support structure is configured to move from lowered position to a raised position above the lowered position. The retention elements are configured to receive the body part. Each retention element has a holding portion and an open region, and each retention element faces at least partially sideways in a retention position.
Human stabilization platforms and related mattresses
Mattresses for human stabilization may include a mass of foam material. A cover including a fabric material may at least partially surrounding the mass of foam material. Head blocks including a foam material may be located proximate to one end of the mattress. The fabric material of the cover may at least partially cover the head blocks, and the head blocks may be foldable relative to the mass of foam material to enable the head blocks to be positioned against lateral sides of a person's head. Human stabilization platforms may include a litter having a surface sized and shaped to support a person thereabove. Straps may be configured to restrain a person's head, the straps having releasable connectors at ends thereof. A track may be located on the surface of the litter, and may be configured to receive the connectors to affix the straps to the litter.
BRACKET ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING RESTRAINT BRACKETS FOR PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUSES AND PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUSES COMPRISING THE SAME
A restraint bracket of a bracket assembly mounted to a lower surface of a support frame of a person support apparatus is disclosed. The restraint bracket includes a bracket body having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface, a pair of flanges formed on the upper surface of the bracket body, and an attachment member extending from the lower surface of the bracket body, the attachment member having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end and the second end fixed to the lower surface of the bracket body.
GEL ELASTOMER FASTENING DEVICE
A user positioning apparatus is provided including a malleable pad including a first gel elastomer. The first gel elastomer is releasably connectable to the second gel elastomer, and an adhesive layer is connected to the second gel elastomer. Further provided is a user positioning method. The user positioning method includes providing a malleable pad including a first gel elastomer, providing a platform, connecting the malleable pad to the platform via the first gel elastomer, providing a user, and positioning a body part of the user on the malleable pad. Further provided are a releasable fastening system, a releasable band, and a method for connecting a user to a platform. Further provided is a user positioning device including a malleable pad including a gel elastomer, the gel elastomer including a reaction product of a composition including an isocyanate prepolymer and a polyether polyol.
Restraint assembly
The restraint assembly includes a mounting plate having a vertical slot. The plate covers an opening in a surface which is located to restrain a patient. An adapter buckle has a “T” stop which is releasably coupled to the vertical slot. The buckle includes an arm and a head. The head includes a horizontal slot for releasable receipt of a strap of the patient restraint. The arm includes an angular bend which positions the head relative to the plate during use. A lock may be used to prevent undesired separation of the buckle from the plate.
Accessory device, a patient immobilization system, and a method of forming a patient immobilization system
An accessory device and an immobilization system including the device are provided for positioning at least a portion of a patient's body relative to an immobilization device including a low temperature thermoplastic sheet. The accessory device may include a patient fixation portion and a lock portion. The patient fixation portion is attached to or inserted in the patient during use. The lock portion may extend distally from the patient fixation portion generally along a lock portion axis. The lock portion includes a shape, surface feature, or configuration, such that the low temperature thermoplastic sheet may be conformed to the outer surface of the lock portion of the accessory device, such that unintended separation of the accessory device from the low temperature thermoplastic sheet is prevented. Methods of forming the accessory device and immobilization system are also provided.
Limb elevation device with securement straps
A limb elevation device comprising a base having a proximal section with an angled upper surface and a distal section with a planar upper surface. The bottom surface of the distal section having one or more recesses with anchor points disposed within the one or more recesses. Securement straps may be selectively attached to the anchor points and the securement straps may be utilized to secure the limb elevation device to a table, bed, or other surface and/or to secure the patient's leg to the securement device itself.
