Disclosed is an intrauterine system (100, 300, 400, 500, 600) comprising a frame (102, 302, 402, 502, 602), a removal thread (218, 326, 436, 626) and at least one pharmaceutically active agent. The frame has a first end (104, 304, 404, 504, 604), a second end (106, 306, 406, 506, 606) and a length L. The first end of the frame comprises a first locking part (108, 308, 408, 508, 608) and the second end of the frame comprises a second locking part (110, 310, 410, 510, 610), the first locking part and the second locking part being arranged to form a lock (202, 312, 432). The removal thread is attached to the first end of the frame. The removal thread is configured to guide the first locking part to the second locking part. Further, disclosed is a kit comprising the aforementioned intrauterine system and an inserter.
Device positionable in the uterine cavity and method of treatment thereof
A delivery vehicle for a silver ion source such as silver nitrate and the like, suitable for use in the treatment of menorrhagia, comprises a plurality of beads bearing a tissue cauterizing amount of a silver ion source. In some embodiments, the silver ion source is silver nitrate, in combination with a binder of hydroxy propyl cellulose and a diluent of potassium nitrate. In some embodiments, the plurality of beads is useful in treating menorrhagia of a mammalian uterus. Silver ions are delivered in a sufficient amount to the endometrium to cause necrosis of the endometrial tissue.
INTRAUTERINE SYSTEM
The present invention relates to novel intrauterine systems and to methods for manufacturing these systems. An intrauterine system according to the invention comprises a reservoir and a continuous, closed and flexible frame.
Estrogen ring removal tool
A drug dispensing ring removal tool with a rigid elongate member, a rigid hook member, a rigid flat plate member, a hook tip resilient member, a hook front end resilient member and a plurality of flat plate resilient members. The hook member is fixedly attached to the proximal end of the elongate member. The flat plate member fixedly attached to the distal end of the elongate member. The hook tip resilient member is fixedly attached to the end of the hook member. The hook front resilient member fixedly attached to the forward most end of the hook member. The flat plate resilient members fixedly attached within cutout portions of the flat plate member. The flat plate resilient members extend approximately one sixteenth of an inch above and below the planar surface of the flat plate member.
Instrument for the insertion of a bioactive frameless or framed intrauterine device or intrauterine system through a hysteroscope
A disposable IUD/IUS inserter is for use in conjunction with a hysteroscope, or blindly, including an inner part which has a flexible metal inner tube, between 1 and 2 mm in diameter. The inner tube has a front end portion including a stylet, the stylet being less than 1 mm in diameter, and the stylet being provided with a stylet tip. The IUD/IUS inserter is further provided with a handle at a rear end of the inner tube, a handle unlocking mechanism for positioning of an IUD or IUS, a release mechanism for releasing of a tail of the IUD/IUS, and an outer tube sized to allow passage through a hysteroscope working channel, the handle unlocking mechanism being connected to the outer tube.
INSERT FOR HUMANS AND ANIMALS AND THE PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The object of the invention belongs to the field of contraceptive devices, more precisely to the field of inserts for humans and animals intended for contraception.
The essence of the insert according to the invention is that the intra-vaginal or uterine insert is shaped as a letter V, wherein the insert is made of into a spiral coiled stainless steel, which is galvanized with one or more different metals selected in the group consisting of copper, silver and copper in combination with gold. The insert has two modes of function, contraceptive and healing, wherein contraceptive function is more important for human females, while the healing effect has higher importance for female animals.
Described insert for humans and animals according to the invention allows safe use. In addition, the insert with added gold has healing properties. At the same time, adjustment of dimensions depending on human or animal needs is possible, so that the insert fits perfectly, and therefore has optimal activity. Furthermore, insert insertion can be carried out according to standard and already known methods.
DEVICE POSITIONABLE IN THE UTERINE CAVITY
An intrauterine device and method of delivering and using same are provided. The intrauterine device includes a wire having a portion capable of forming a three dimensional (3D) structure. The 3D structure is elastically deformable to a partially collapsed configuration via a crush force larger than a force applied thereto by a relaxed uterine cavity. The three dimensional structure is also capable of elastically contracting and expanding in response to contraction and expansion of the uterine cavity.
AN INTRAUTERINE DEVICE WITH A RESTRICTED MOVEMENT OF A STRING KNOT
An intrauterine device (20) with a restricted movement of a knot (5) of the string (4) due to a region (3) having such differed shape and size at a distal end (12) of central vertical stem (1) and due to a trajectory for string (4) in the region (3) that the length of the string (S) is shorter than the distance (r) of the region (3); and the loop (15) of the string and therefore the knot (5) is unable to pivot around the axis (14). The lateral shift of the knot (5) is also prevented. Consequent to restricted pivoting and restricted lateral shift of the knot (5), the hanging portion (9) of the string (4) continue to project downwards and do NOT develop tendency to get retracted and thus do not curl up in the uterus (16) through the cervix (17).
INSERTER
The invention relates to an inserter for an intrauterine system, comprising a handle (3) having a longitudinal opening (8) at its first end, said opening (8) having a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inserter, a first end (8a) and a second end (8b), a moveable slider (5) arranged in said longitudinal opening (8) and having a first end (5a) and a second end (5b), a plunger (2) attached to the handle (3), an insertion tube (6) arranged around the plunder (2) having a first end and a second end, with its second end attached to the slider (5), wherein the inserter further comprises locking means for reversibly locking the intrauterine system in relation to the plunder (2) via a removal string of the intrauterine system, said locking means being controllable by the slider (5) and/or the insertion tube (6).
