11547617 · 2023-01-10 ·

A patient litter basket spin control assembly for use on a patient litter basket is provided. The assembly comprises thruster unit for discharging an air stream and is mounted on the patient litter basket. At least one sensor is associated with the thruster unit for sensing rotational movement or spin of the patient litter basket, and a power source is provided for powering the thruster unit and the sensor. A clamp member mounts on the patient litter basket and releasably receives the thruster unit. The sensors modulate the force of the air stream from the thruster unit so that the air stream counters the rotational movement of the patient litter basket to stabilize the patient litter basket by preventing the spin.

Automatically inflatable patient transfer air mattress
11471347 · 2022-10-18 ·

Provided is an automatically inflatable patient transfer air mattress designed to enable immobile persons, such as patients with mobility difficulty, to be rapidly laid and transferred thereon in the event of a disaster or an accident, prevent an injury to the patient caused by a falling object dropping from a ceiling or any other place, and reduce impact in the case of movement via stairs. The automatically inflatable patient transfer air mattress includes a main mattress portion forming a plate shape having a predetermined thickness when charged and inflated with air, a protective cover portion provided on one side surface of the main mattress portion in a longitudinal direction, and configured to cover one surface of the main mattress portion when deployed, and a cushion wheel unit disposed on a bottom portion of the main mattress portion to absorb impact from below.

LITTER WITH CURVED FEET FOR EASY LOADING
20230143561 · 2023-05-11 ·

A litter for carrying an injured person and method of making the same is provided. The litter comprises a pair of frame rails defining a middle space therebetween. A carrying structure is supported by the pair of frame rails in the middle space and defines a top surface and a bottom surface. The carrying structure is configured to support an injured person on the top surface. The litter further comprises at least one spreader bar disposed between the pair of frame rails. At least one foot defining a top and a bottom may be attached to a bottom side of either the at least one spreader bar or at least one of the pair of frame rails. The at least one foot defines a curved surface leading downwardly from the top to the bottom vertically away from the top surface of the carrying structure and horizontally towards the middle space.

Device for moving a load

Techniques for mitigating dominant frequency imparted to object
11259972 · 2022-03-01 ·

A spring supported tray for mitigating a dominant frequency imparted thereto is provided. The spring supported tray includes a tray including a topside and underside, and configured to support an object on the topside, and N springs supporting the tray, N being a positive integer. A first end of each of the N springs is disposed at the underside of the tray. A second end of each of the N springs is disposed so as to receive vibrational motion imparted to the second end of each of the N springs from a source of the vibrational motion, the vibrational motion having a dominant undesired frequency f.sub.dom. Each of the N springs has a spring constant k defined by the equation: k = f n 2 4 π 2 w Ng
where w denotes the collective weight of the tray and the object, g denotes the force of gravity, and f.sub.n denotes a natural frequency of the spring supported tray supporting the object, wherein f.sub.n is a lower frequency than the dominant undesired frequency f.sub.dom.

Vibration-Damping Spineboard Securing System

A pad of vibration-reducing foam is interposed between a spineboard and a litter that are secured together by straps. The pad has a pad upper surface contoured to receive and substantially mate with a spineboard lower surface to block horizontal motion therebetween, and a pad lower surface with a substantially planar support region. The pad can be formed of more than one layer of foam, with each layer having different vibration-damping characteristics. Material costs can be reduced by employing a discontinuous pad formed by a pad head segment and a pad foot segment. When a full-length pad is employed, separate straps for engaging the spineboard and the litter can be provided, with the pad interposed between the straps to prevent transmission of vibrations through the straps. The pad can be configured to offset the spineboard on the litter and allow a portable ICU to be placed alongside the spineboard.

Patient Transport Apparatus With Controlled Auxiliary Wheel Speed

A patient transport apparatus transports a patient over a floor surface. The patient transport apparatus comprises a base and support wheels coupled to the base. An auxiliary wheel is coupled to the base to influence motion of the patient transport apparatus over the floor surface to assist users. A wheel drive system is operatively coupled to the auxiliary wheel to rotate the auxiliary wheel relative to the base at a rotational speed. A throttle assembly having a throttle operably coupled to the actuator. The throttle is movable in a first position, a second position, and intermediate positions between the first and second positions. The rotational speed of the auxiliary wheel changes in a non-linear manner with respect to movement of the throttle.
