Access port having a cover
A port assembly (100) is generally disclosed that has an annular port ring (110) configured for placement in a barrier wall (10). The annular port ring (110) defines a port opening (20) extending from a first end (22) to a second end (24) and an annular sealing surface (118) about the port opening (20) on the second end (24). A port cover (120) is mechanically coupleable to the annular port ring (110). The port cover (120) defines an annular mating surface (124) configured to couple to the annular sealing surface (118) of the annular port ring (110). A manually actuatable handle (130) is in mechanical communication with the port cover (120). The handle (130) extends from the first end (22) of the annular port ring (110) away from the second end (24).
System And Method Configured To Provide Extracorporeal Support For Premature Fetus
A system configured to enclose a premature fetus within an extracorporeal environment to promote growth of the fetus and increase viability of the fetus. The system includes a chamber having an interior space configured to enclose the fetus, a first fluid circuit that delivers sterile fluid to the chamber, and a second fluid system that transfers oxygen to the fetus. The system chamber includes a stop mechanism including a clamp and an actuator, the clamp positioned in the interior space, the actuator coupled to the clamp such that movement of the actuator moves the clamp, and the actuator positioned at least partially outside the interior space.
MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MAKING MEDICAL DEVICES FOR WARMING A PATIENT
A medical device for warming a patient. The medical device includes bed configured to support the patient thereon and a heater configured to produce heat for the patient when supported on the bed. A temperature sensor is configured to detect an ambient air temperature apart from the bed. A controller is provided in communication with the temperature sensor, where the controller produces a signal based on the ambient air temperature from the temperature sensor.
INCUBATOR
The present invention relates to an incubator comprising: a main body part which has a space formed therein for accommodating an infant; supports of which the lower portions are connected to one side of the main body part; a hood driving part provided with one or more multi joint link units and pivotably coupled to the supports; a hood which is disposed above the main body part, and opens and closes the main body part by means of the operation of the hood driving part; and a heater which is mounted to the hood driving part and changes position so that a heat radiating part faces away from the main body part when the main body part is closed, and faces the main body part when the main body part is open. Thus, the present invention can be easily converted for use as a warmer.
Systems and methods for indicating an open porthole in an infant care station
A system for safely containing an infant on a mattress is described. The system includes a base that supports the mattress and panels that extend upwardly from the base and together form an enclosure around the mattress. A porthole is defined through at least one of the panels, where the porthole provides access into the enclosure. A porthole door has locked and unlocked positions and covers the porthole only in the locked position. A detection system detects when the porthole door is in the unlocked position. A lighting system is operatively coupled to the detection system and is configured to emit light when the porthole door is detected to be in the unlocked position. A power system provides energy to the lighting system for emitting the light.
NEONATAL CARE SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD
A neonatal care system includes an enclosure configured to provide a microenvironment for a neonate, one or more physiological sensors configured to sense a plurality of physiological parameters of the neonate, one or more microenvironmental sensors configured to sense a plurality of microenvironmental parameters within the enclosure, and at least one external environmental sensor configured to sense at least one external parameter outside the enclosure. A control system is configured to control the microenvironment based on a plurality of control settings, track at least one setting change to any of the control settings and in corresponding time of change, and store at least one event and a corresponding time for each event. A longitudinal log is generated including each of the physiological parameters, microenvironmental parameters, external parameter, setting change, and event with respect to time. A display is then generated and displayed based on the longitudinal log.
ROTARY LATCH FOR PORTHOLE DOOR OF AN INCUBATOR
A neonatal incubator system includes an enclosure having a series of side panels that create a chamber that receives an infant. At least one of the side panels includes a porthole having a porthole door that is movable between open and closed positions. A rotary latch is positioned to engage the porthole door to retain the porthole door in the closed position when the latch is in a latched position. The rotary latch is designed such movement of the rotary latch to an unlatched position creates physical separation between the porthole door and a sealing gasket or bumpers located between the porthole door and the side panel. The rotary latch is designed such that a control knob can be moved to a cleaning position in which the control knob is spaced from the side panel to expose a liquid gutter that is formed as part of a stationary base.
System for limiting exposure of a selected area from contaminated and adverse environments
An access control apparatus having a protective covering configure to cover at least one of a subject or an object inside said protective covering is provided, where an opening is configured to provide access to the at least one of a subject or an object and a covering element configured to selectively cover said opening. A receiving element is provided on the protective covering and an activating device with an activating element is provided external to the protective covering. A motor is coupled to the covering element, wherein said motor selectively moves the covering element to at least partially unblock the opening based on a wireless activation signal and a distance between the activating element and the receiving element being within a predefined distance and to completely block the opening based on the wireless activation signal and the distance between the activating element and the receiving element being greater than the predefined distance, effectively limiting the exchange of contaminated or adverse environments between an internal area of the protective covering and an area outside the protective covering. The covering element can be an integral covering or an iris diaphragm arrangement.
