POWER TRANSFER SYSTEM WITH PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND POWER TRANSFER DEVICE TO TRANSFER POWER TO THE PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS
A power transfer system comprises a patient transport apparatus and a power transfer device. The power transfer system provides convenience and ease of connection between a power source and the patient transport apparatus to provide power to one or more electrically powered devices on the patient transport apparatus or to provide energy for an energy storage device on the patient transport apparatus.
Relocatable power tap having integrated current monitor
A medical electrical equipment power tap has multiple sockets and a power cord with a maximum current rating. The power tap includes a display to indicate information related to an instantaneous current draw of the power tap. The power tap also includes an electrical circuit which determines whether the instantaneous current draw exceeds a predetermined maximum allowed current which is less than the maximum current rating. The display provides a visual indication when the power tap's current draw exceeds the maximum allowed value, signifying that at least one item of medical electrical equipment should be unplugged from the power tap. The electrical circuit includes a current loop which passes through a structural portion of the power tap's housing for independently gauging the instantaneous current draw using a clamp probe.
WALL MOUNT FOR MOUNTING A MEDICAL DEVICE
The invention relates to a wall bracket (1) for releasably securing a medical appliance and an appliance-specific connection element. The wall bracket comprises a housing (2) which has a front side (3), a rear side (16), two longitudinal sides (11a, 11b), a lower side (5) and an upper side (6). A connection geometry (4) for an appliance-specific connection element is arranged at the front side (3). A locking element (24) can be moved through an opening (23) of the connection geometry (4), wherein the locking element (24) can be moved by means of a lever (12) which is supported in the housing (2) between an open position and a locking position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AND IDENTIFYING ARCING BASED ON NUMERICAL ANALYSIS
Method and system allowing more accurate detection and identification of unwanted arcing include novel processing of signal voltage representing recovered power-line current. In one implementation, arc-faults are detected based on numerical analysis where individual cycles of line voltage and current are observed and data collected during each cycle is processed to estimate likelihood of presence of arc-event within each individual cycle based on pre-defined number of arc-events occurring within pre-defined number of contiguous cycles. In another implementation, fast transient current spikes detection can be done by: computing difference values between consecutive line-current samples collected over a cycle, average of differences, and peak-to-peak value of line-current; comparing each difference value to average of difference; comparing each difference value to peak-to-peak value; and, based on calculation of composite of two comparisons, using thresholds to determine if arcing is present within processed cycle.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH SPECTROMETER
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes a frame, a support surface, an emitter, a detector, and a controller. The emitter and detector are coupled to the patient support apparatus at first and second locations, respectively. The emitter is adapted to emit electromagnetic waves in a direction aimed toward the detector. The detector is adapted to detect the electromagnetic waves emitted from the emitter. The controller is adapted to perform a spectral analysis of the detected electromagnetic waves to determine a parameter associated with the gas exhaled by a patient positioned on the patient support apparatus. The parameter may refer to a carbon dioxide level of gas exhaled by the patient, the patient's respiration rate, the patient's metabolic rate, or the like. The emitter, detector, and controller may alternatively be separate from, but attachable to, and in communication with, the patient support apparatus.
STAND DEVICE RESPONSIVE TO FORCE OR MOVEMENT, CONTROL DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING THE STAND DEVICE
The invention relates to a stand device (1) for arranging in an operating room and for locally moving a medical device (20), comprising a braking device (50) having at least one brake (51) that is configured to adjust a degree of freedom of movement of the medical device (20) or a support system (10) holding the device, wherein the stand device (1) further comprises a control device (30) connected to the braking device (50) that is configured to evaluate an external force acting on the stand device (1) or a movement caused by the external force and configured to control the braking device (50) and to adjust the degree of freedom of movement. As a result, the medical device can be moved without operating a switch/pushbutton. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding control device and a method for positioning the medical device.
LOCKING RELEASE MECHANISM FOR AN ARTICULATED SUPPORT ARM
Various embodiments concern locking release mechanisms that allow an articulated support arm to be moved between various vertical orientations. A locking release mechanism may include a handle release mechanism positioned within the handle of the articulated support arm, and a gas spring release mechanism positioned within the body of the articulated support arm. The articulated support arm can include a gas spring that remains locked until the handle release mechanism is activated, e.g. by applying pressure to a grip actuator. Other embodiments concern cable management techniques for articulated support arms. Oftentimes, an articulated support arm will include cables routed through the arm that are configured to support an attachment. For example, the cable(s) may be adapted for audio signals, video signals, power, etc. The cable(s) can be readily cleaned and/or serviced when routed through an articulated support arm composed of one or more removable pieces.
Brake system for architectural arm
An arm is pivotally coupled to a support structure at one end and a patient care equipment support, such as a service head, is pivotally coupled to the arm at the other end. The arm has a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion for extension and retraction relative to the first portion. Brakes are provided to brake the extension and retraction of the portions of the arm, to brake the pivoting movement of the arm relative to the support structure, and to brake the pivoting movement of the patient care equipment support relative to the arm. Each of the brakes is releasable.
