Once the urn is made, by use of a manufacturing method, the threaded lid is screwed into the threaded flange, thereby creating a one-piece, air-tight and water-tight cremation urn.

A casket comprises a casket shell adapted to receive a deceased, a casket lid closeable on the shell, a handling bar non-pivotally attached to the shell with a first attachment mechanism, a decorative cover overlying the first attachment mechanism and operably attached to the shell with a second attachment mechanism, the second attachment mechanism having a first portion mounted to the shell and a second portion mounted to the decorative cover, the first and second portions of the second attachment mechanism resiliently cooperating to operably removably attach the decorative cover to the casket shell.

A casket comprises a casket shell, a casket lid closeable on the shell, at least one keyhole groove in the shell, a medallion casket ornament having a rear side, the ornament including at least one magnet mounted on the rear side, and an adapter plate having at least one rearward facing fastener with a head thereon and having a forward facing annular magnetic plate. The adapter plate is removably secured to the shell by inserting the head of the fastener in the keyhole groove and seating the head of the fastener in the keyhole groove. The ornament is removably secured to the shell by positioning the at least one magnet of the ornament on the annular magnetic plate. A method of forming a pair of opposed side walls and a pair of opposed end walls of a sheet metal casket shell from a single piece of sheet metal. The piece of sheet metal has opposite ends and a length equal to the combined length of the pair of side walls and the pair of end walls of the casket shell to be formed. The opposite ends of the piece of sheet metal are secured together to form a tube. A roll forming roller is positioned in an interior of the tube. A female die configured to produce a desired profile for the side walls and the end walls of the casket shell is positioned around an exterior of the tube. The roller is moved outwardly so as to contact an interior surface of the tube and deform the tube toward a die cavity of the female die. The roller is rolled around a perimeter of the interior of the tube so as to deform the perimeter of the tube toward the die cavity of the female die. The desired profile for the side walls and the end walls of the casket shell is thereby produced.

A reusable metal casket is configured to receive a tray supporting the deceased. The casket includes a base, having a head end, a first side, a second side, and a foot end, and a lid. The lid is rotatably coupled to the first side or the second side. The foot end is rotatable relative to a bottom of the casket to enable insertion and removal of the tray. The head end and the foot end include curved corners. Accordingly, the interfaces between the head end and the foot end and the first side and the second side are formed separately from the curved corners.
