Patient Transport Apparatus With Electro-Mechanical Braking System

A patient transport apparatus includes a base, a patient support deck, a plurality of wheels, a plurality of brakes, and an electro-mechanical braking system. The electro-mechanical braking system includes a linkage, a manual actuator, and an electrical braking assembly. The linkage is operatively coupled to the brakes to place the brakes in a braked state, a released state, or other state. The manual actuator moves the linkage manually to place the brakes in one of the states. The electrical braking assembly includes an actuator assembly that moves the linkage with electrical power to place the brakes in one of the states.

Slidable post for a vehicle

An assembly for a vehicle includes a vehicle roof and a vehicle floor spaced from the vehicle roof. The assembly includes a post elongated from the vehicle floor to the vehicle roof. The post being slidable along the vehicle roof and the vehicle floor in a vehicle-longitudinal direction. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the post.

Incontinence detection method

An incontinence detection pad has an RFID tag in which an authentication code, such as an electronic product code (EPC), is stored. A reader in wireless communication with the RFID tag of the incontinence detection pad verifies that the incontinence detection pad is an authorized detection pad. Thus, unauthorized incontinence detection pads that do not have the proper authentication code are not able to be used in an incontinence detection system.

Patient Support Systems And Methods For Assisting Caregivers With Patient Care

A patient support system comprises a patient support apparatus for patients. The patient support apparatus also comprises an actuatable device that perform one or more predetermined functions on the patient support apparatus. A controller is provided to control the rate of operation of the actuatable devices based on a user input or a patient condition.

STRETCHER

A stretcher, which comprises: a support frame for supporting a patient; a pair of front legs rotatably coupled to the support frame around a first rotation axis, wherein each front leg supports a front wheel holder frame hinged to the respective front leg around a first oscillation axis parallel to the first rotation axis and supporting a front wheel resting on a rest plane, wherein the front wheel pivots around a respective first pivot axis orthogonal to the first oscillation axis; a pair of rear legs rotatably coupled to the support frame around a second rotation axis, wherein each rear leg supports a rear wheel holder frame hinged to the respective rear leg around a second oscillation axis parallel to the second rotation axis and supporting a rear wheel resting on a rest plane, wherein the front wheel pivots around a respective second pivot axis orthogonal to the second oscillation axis; a handling arrangement for the front wheel holder frame and the rear wheel holder frame; a control module configured to keep the first pivot axis and the second pivot axis always orthogonal to the rest plane on which the front and rear wheels roll.

PATIENT CARE SYSTEM WITH UNAUTHORIZED USE DETECTION
20230233388 · 2023-07-27 ·

A system and method to detect an unauthorized device coupled to an interface of a control system for a patient support apparatus. The interface may be wired or wireless, and the system and method may involve determining an operating signature of a device coupled to an interface. Based on the operating signature being consistent with a device signature stored in memory, the system may determine the device coupled to the interface is an authorized device.

PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS SYSTEMS WITH DYNAMIC CONTROL ALGORITHMS

A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, cot, or the like, includes a frame, a support surface, a control, a controller, and a transceiver. The patient support apparatus employs one or more machine learning techniques to perform one or more of the following: automatically implement one or more user-preferred settings, automatically predict the occurrence of one or more events based on analyses of prior events, and/or automatically improve one or more algorithms based on analyses of additional sensor data. The machine learning techniques may be implemented onboard the patient support apparatus and/or may be implemented at a remote computer device (e.g. a server) that collates and analyzes data from multiple patient support apparatuses, and then sends the results of the analyses back to the patient support apparatuses.

EXIT DETECTION SYSTEM WITH OBSTRUCTION REACTION
20230233102 · 2023-07-27 ·

A person support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, cot, recliner, or the like, includes an exit detection system having a plurality of force sensors that support the weight of an occupant positioned on a support surface and obstruction detection system having one or more obstruction sensors. The force sensors are part of an exit detection system that issues an alarm when the occupant exits, or is about to exit, the person support apparatus. The bed exit system can react to detection of an obstacle. The distribution of weight applied to the force sensors is used to determine if the occupant is about to exit the person support apparatus. Compensation is made to the exit detection system for changes in the weight distribution that are not caused by movement of the occupant. Such changes may be due to not only movement of the person support apparatus or components thereof, but obstacles encountered by the person support apparatus or components thereof.

Balance Assist And Fall Prevention Assembly
20230022891 · 2023-01-26 ·

A balance assist and fall prevention assembly for preventing falls and providing balance assistance includes a plurality of rails and a harness. The rails are mountable to a ceiling of a structure and are selectively interconnectable so that respective rails are extend along an associated route in the structure that is routinely traversed by a user. A trolley is rollably engaged to the plurality of rails. The harness can be selectively donned by the user so that the harness is removably engaged to the user. A tether is engaged to and extends between the harness and the trolley. The tether is selectively length adjustable so as to extend substantially linearly between the harness and the trolley with the user standing substantially upright and beneath the trolley. The tether thus improves balance of the user and to prevents falling of the user.

Nursing machine and wearable working head thereof

Disclosed is a nursing machine that includes a wearable working head and a urine detection circuit. The urine detection circuit includes at least two first urine sensors and at least two second urine sensors that are arranged on the working head. In response to more than one first urine sensor each outputting a liquid detected signal or in response to more than one second urine sensor each outputting the liquid detected signal, the urine detection circuit is configured to output a urine signal. In response to only one first urine sensor or only one second urine sensor outputting the liquid detected signal or in response to only one first urine sensor and only one second urine sensor each outputting the liquid detected signal, the urine detection circuit doesn't output the urine signal.
