Automated orthostatic hypotension assessment

A system for automatically assessing orthostatic hypotension for a patient supported on a patient support apparatus. The system receives position data identifying a first position of a patient supported on a patient support apparatus, and after a delay, receives vital signs data of the patient. The system receives position data identifying a second position of the patient supported on the patient support apparatus, and after a delay, receives vital signs data of the patient. The system determines an orthostatic hypotension assessment based on a difference in the vital signs data between the first and second positions. Based on the orthostatic hypotension assessment, the system modifies one or more conditions on the patient support apparatus to mitigate a risk for patient fall.

Toilet with lid for sealing bowl for analysis and washing

An analytical toilet comprising a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; and a lid adapted to cover the bowl and form an airtight seal between the bowl and the lid forming a sealed chamber; and at least one fluid outlet for cleaning the bowl is disclosed.

A patient support apparatus comprises a plurality of load cells, a frame supported on the load cells, a mattress, a vibration sensor, and a control system. The mattress includes a plurality of inflatable zones positioned on the frame, the mattress and frame cooperating to direct any patient load through the mattress and frame to the load cells. The control system includes a controller operable to receive a separate signal from each of the plurality of load cells and the vibration sensor and process the signals to identify motion of the patient.

Patient support with selectable pivot

Devices, systems, and methods for patient support including adjustable longitudinal angle of attached patient support tops. The reference point for longitudinal angle adjustment is itself adjustable to accommodate particular patient positioning.

Hospital bed exit detection method and system

A method for detecting an exit of a patient from a hospital bed, the method comprising: detecting a presence of the patient on the bed, upon detection of the patient on the bed, monitoring an indication that the patient has moved from a predetermined patient area on a patient receiving surface of the bed to outside the predetermined patient area, upon detection that the patient has moved outside the predetermined patient area, activating a bed alarm to indicate to a user that an exit of the patient from the hospital bed has been detected, and after monitoring the indication that the patient has moved from the predetermined patient area and further upon receiving a pause command, suspending monitoring the indication that the patient has moved from the predetermined patient area. There is also provided a system for detecting an exit of a patient from a hospital bed.

COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING A POSTURE ADOPTED BY A SUBJECT
20220322972 · 2022-10-13 ·

A computer system for identifying a posture adopted by a subject is disclosed. The computer system includes a computer processor that is configured to execute the following functions: obtain a set of reference pressure images, each of the reference pressure images associated with a known posture; obtain a recorded pressure image of the subject; compare the recorded pressure image of the subject with a candidate pressure image from the set of reference pressure images; and repeat the comparing function until the recorded pressure image with the candidate pressure image.

POWER-ASSIST CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INTELLIGENT ROLLATOR, INTELLIGENT ROLLATOR, AND CONTROLLER
20230119433 · 2023-04-20 ·

A intelligent rollator has a vehicle body, a seat provided in the vehicle body for a person to sit or place items on, and front and rear wheels provided at the bottom of the wheels, driven by motors. A power-assist control method includes the following steps: obtaining the load weight of the vehicle body; and entering a first power-assist compensation mode to compensate the torque output of the motor according to a first power-assist compensation threshold, when the load weight is greater than a set threshold. The first power-assist compensation threshold is direct proportional to at least one of the following parameters: the load weight of the intelligent rollator, and the moving speed of the intelligent rollator. The intelligent rollator can be used safely even under the situations of huge different loads, as with load or not the motor torque output is prevented from being too large to drag the user to fall down, or when the user is seated the motor torque output is prevented from being too small and power is insufficient.

Wheelchair systems and methods enabling fine manual motion control

Systems and methods of wheelchair systems enabling fine manual motion control are disclosed. In one embodiment, a wheelchair system includes a wheelchair. The wheelchair includes one or more wheels, at least one actuator coupled to the one or more wheels, a processing device, and a non-transitory, processor-readable storage medium in communication with the processing device. The non-transitory, processor-readable storage medium includes one or more programming instructions that, when executed, cause the processing device to determine a wheel torque on the one or more wheels, determine a compensation value, and actuate the at least one actuator applying the compensation value to the one or more wheels to remove at least a portion of the wheel torque such that less external force is required to physically move the powered wheelchair than when the compensation value is not applied.

CASTOR BASE WITH LOAD SENSOR
20230110212 · 2023-04-13 ·

Systems and methods for a load sensing system that determines a mass on a bed. The systems generally are in the form of a castor base, particularly one that can be used as part of an adjustable hospital bed. The load sensing system serves to determine the mass of any object or objects (typically a human or animal patient) which is placed on the bed by having the mass create a force on lever arms of a plurality of load cells in the castor base. The load sensing systems are designed to work without hindering the adjustable functionality of the bed and can accurately determine mass (weight) at any position of the bed, and potentially even while the bed is adjusting between positions.
