Multi-Speed Ergonomic Wheelchair And Devices And Methods Therefor

A wheelchair having a frame and a drive wheel coupled to the frame. The drive wheel rotates relative to the frame about a first axis of rotation. A first push rim is coupled to the frame. The first push rim rotates relative to the frame about a second axis of rotation that extends substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation. A second push rim is coupled to the frame. The second push rim rotates relative to the frame about a third axis of rotation that extends substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation. A transmission transmits rotation of each of the first and second push rims to the drive wheel. Movement of the first push rim by a first arc length causes the drive wheel to rotate by a first angular displacement, and movement of the second push rim by the first arc length causes the drive wheel to rotate by a second angular displacement that is greater than the first angular displacement.

MECHANICAL WHEELCHAIR DRIVE AND WHEELCHAIR HAVING SUCH A MECHANICAL WHEELCHAIR

The invention relates to a mechanical wheelchair drive, comprising a rotatably mounted lever, a handle fastened to the lever, and a force transfer unit for transferring rotational motion of the lever to a wheelchair wheel, wherein the lever has a variable length and is guided along a closed guide of a guide plate, said guide deviating from the circular form, such that the length of the lever changes during the rotational motion.

Patient Transport Apparatus User Interface

A patient transport apparatus operable by a user for transporting a patient along stairs. A seat section is coupled to a support structure supporting a track assembly having a belt. A motor selectively generates torque to drive the belt. A user interface is arranged for engagement by the user, and has a direction input control for selecting a drive direction of the motor, and an activation input control for operating the motor to drive the belt. A controller in communication with the motor and the user interface is configured to limit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control preceding engagement of the direction input control to prevent driving the belt, and to permit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control following engagement of the direction input control to drive the belt in a selected drive direction.

This invention is a rotational manual propulsion wheel chair hand pedal to be fitted to the axles of both wheels of a wheel chair. The rotational wheel chair hand pedal is attached to the two large wheels of a wheel chair by means of being directly attached to the axles and or hubs securely of the wheel chair's wheels, or surrounding the hubs of the wheel chair's wheels. The rotational wheel chair hand pedal has an arm, which fits from the wheel chair's axle and or hub to the wheel chairs wheel's rim. The position of the handles is fixed by retractable and is adjustable by pressing a button at the end of the handle to retract the pins.

A reciprocating drive motion wheelchair is provided. The wheelchair device includes a low-profile wheelchair that utilizes push bars pivotally connected to the wheelchair frame and operably connected to a crank bar, which run parallel to the ground and connects back to a crank on each wheel. An additional pair of wheels is disposed rearward of the drive wheels and prevents the wheelchair from tipping, thus allowing the user to utilize the push bars to move the wheelchair quickly and easily.

Wheel frame of driving wheel of a wheel chair including an ergometer including improved stabilization for increasing torque measurement of a user

A wheel frame (16a) includes a cylindrical hub (16c) into which an axle (11b) is rotatably inserted, a six-axis force sensor (16e) having an insertion hole (16e1) into which the hub (16c) is inserted, and an outer flange (16f) extending radially outward from an input section (16e2) of the six-axis force sensor (16e), wherein a hand rim (17) is attached to the outer flange (16f).
