Patient Transport Apparatus For Traversing Stairs

A patient transport apparatus for transporting a patient. A seat section is pivotably coupled to a support structure about a seat axis. A front wheel is operatively attached to a front strut of the support structure, and a carrier is arranged for movement relative to the support. The carrier includes a shaft defining a wheel axis, a rear wheel supported for rotation about the wheel axis, a track having a belt, and a hub supporting the shaft and the track for concurrent pivoting movement about a hub axis defined by a upright of the support structure. The hub axis extends through a plane intersecting the seat axis, fixed relative to the upright, and defining opposing first and second sides. Movement of the carrier from a chair configuration to a stair configuration simultaneously deploys the track and moves the wheel axis from the first side to the second side.

Patient transport apparatus with multiple mode handle assembly

A patient transport apparatus for transporting patients in a stair configuration and in a chair configuration. A multiple mode handle assembly is provided for user engagement, and is movable between a first handle configuration, a second handle configuration, and a third handle configuration.

In an electric vehicle, a seat on a mobile base can move between a sitting position in which a sitting surface faces the vehicle upper side, and a retracted position in which a seating portion having the sitting surface is retracted from the sitting position to the vehicle front side, a back plate on the mobile base can move between a raised position on the vehicle rear side and the vehicle upper side with respect to the seating portion in the sitting position, and a laid down position on the vehicle front side with respect to the raised position, a cargo bed portion on the mobile base is positioned on the vehicle lower side with respect to the seating portion of the seat in the sitting position and is positioned on the vehicle rear side with respect to the seating portion of the seat in the retracted position.

Electric vehicle

An electric vehicle includes: a mobile base capable of traveling by an electromotive drive; a seat including a seating portion having a sitting surface; and a battery capable of supplying electric power used in the electromotive drive. The seating portion of the seat includes a receiving portion capable of receiving the battery and arranged on a seat lower side with respect to the sitting surface. The mobile base is changeable between an expanded state in which a wheelbase is expanded and a contracted state in which the wheelbase is more contracted than in the expanded state. The seat is movable between a sitting position that the sitting surface faces a vehicle upper side in an expanded state of the mobile base, and a retracted position that the seating portion is retracted from the sitting position to a vehicle front side in a contracted state of the mobile base.

Collapsible mobility scooter

A collapsible mobility scooter includes a chassis and a transformation actuator. The chassis includes a rear frame a front frame pivotally connected to a rear frame. The front frame is pivoted to the rear frame when the chassis is in a collapsed position. The front frame is pivoted away from the rear frame when the chassis is in an extended position. The transformation actuator includes a rear end connected to the rear frame and a front end connected to the front frame.

Convertible wheelchair

A convertible wheelchair is provided. The convertible wheelchair can have a wheelchair configuration and a walker configuration to allow a user to alternately sit and stand, and can include a frame supporting a chair. The chair can be foldable and can include a chair back and a chair seat. The convertible wheelchair can include support and stability mechanisms accessible in the wheelchair configuration and the walker configuration including one or more torso supports, a fall seat, and stability bars.

Patient Transport Apparatus Having Caster Assembly Biasing Mechanisms

A patient transport apparatus including a support structure movable between a chair configuration for traversing floor surfaces and a stowed configuration for storage. A seat section is pivotably coupled to the support structure. A caster assembly includes a pin coupled to the support structure and defining a swivel axis, a caster frame arranged to pivot about the swivel axis between a plurality of caster orientations, a wheel coupled to the caster frame and arranged for engagement with the floor in the chair configuration, and biasing mechanism interposed between the caster frame and the pin. The biasing mechanism urges the caster frame toward a stowed aster orientation in response to disengagement between the wheel and floor surfaces occurring as the support structure moves from the chair configuration to the stowed configuration.

SELF-ALIGNING COLLAPSIBLE FRONT ADD-ON FOR A WHEELCHAIR

An alignment system for a wheelchair based steering column includes a fork assembly configured to carry a front wheel, a bearing coupled to the fork assembly, a tube member that receives the bearing and a portion of the fork assembly, a cam defining sloped cam surface leading to a recess, the cam positioned in the tube member, a biasing member configured to apply a restoring force onto the cam, the biasing member positioned in the tube member, and a steering device coupled to the fork assembly. In response to applying a rotational force to the steering device, the fork assembly rotates, responsively rotating the front wheel and sliding the bearing along the cam surface away from the recess, the cam responsively linearly translates relative to the fork assembly overcoming the restoring force.

Patient transport apparatus user interface

A patient transport apparatus operable by a user for transporting a patient along stairs. A seat section is coupled to a support structure supporting a track assembly having a belt. A motor selectively generates torque to drive the belt. A user interface is arranged for engagement by the user, and has a direction input control for selecting a drive direction of the motor, and an activation input control for operating the motor to drive the belt. A controller in communication with the motor and the user interface is configured to limit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control preceding engagement of the direction input control to prevent driving the belt, and to permit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control following engagement of the direction input control to drive the belt in a selected drive direction.
