APPARATUS FOR STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION OF AN EXOSKELETON
20220378644 · 2022-12-01 ·

Disclosed herein is a system/apparatus for storing, use in therapy, and transporting a (bionic) exoskeleton. The apparatus includes a frame comprising a plurality of legs, a seat, and a back which are operable for being moved between one or more configurations. The seat of the frame defines a seat surface configured for engagement with an exoskeleton. Furthermore, the back of the frame is operably engaged with the seat such that the back of the frame may be folded over, into, or extended from the frame to reduce an overall profile size of the apparatus in a collapsed or folded configuration. The apparatus may further include a pair of footrests defined along the legs that rotate in a lateral direction relative to the frame for the patients ease of transition into the exoskeleton. The frame also includes a locking mechanism that aids to from a storage configuration or a ready configuration.

A locking system of a wheelchair is disclosed. The locking system includes a locking member, an actuator, a locking frame, and an opening. The opening is disposed within the locking frame. The actuator is in communication with the locking member and is configured to move the locking member within the opening. The actuator is operable in a retracted operation state and an extended operation state. The actuator is configured to move the locking member in an upward direction when the locking system is set from the extended operation state to the retracted operation state. The actuator is configured to move the locking member in a downward direction when the locking system is set from the retracted operation state to the extended operation state, and the locking member is naturally biased in the extended operation state.

A safety restraint adapted for securing a personal mobility vehicle in a transport vehicle, against movement in a direction opposite to the direction of normal motion of the transport vehicle, the safety restraint comprising: a retractor comprising a spool on which an elongate piece of material is wound; the elongate material being configured to be attached at one end to the personal mobility vehicle; a slider bar adapted to be fixed to the transport vehicle; and wherein the retractor is mounted on the slider bar, in a manner which allows the retractor to slide in the direction of normal motion of the transport vehicle, and prevents the retractor moving in the opposite direction on the slider bar.

Patient support apparatus with frame guard

A patient support apparatus for traversing objects supported on ground surfaces. The patient support apparatus comprises a patient support deck, and a base to support the patient support deck from the ground surface. At pair of caster wheel assemblies spaced from each other are coupled to the base for pivoting movement about respective pivot axes cooperating to define a reference plane. A frame guard coupled to the base defines first and second ramp surfaces each disposed at an angle relative to the reference plane. The first ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in a first direction. The second ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in an opposite, second direction.
