Deck Extension Assembly
A patient support apparatus includes a support frame that carries a patient support deck comprising a plurality of sections and a deck extension assembly including a deck extension frame that supports a deck extension section. The assembly is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The support frame includes a deck rail defining a channel and a deck slot extending between a proximal and distal deck notch. The deck extension frame includes an extension rail that is moveably disposed in the channel and a frame slot. A latch link comprises a link slot and is moveably mounted to the deck extension frame. A latch pin is movably supported in each of the deck slot, frame slot, and link slot. The latch pin engages the distal deck notch when the assembly is in the extended position and the proximal deck notch when the assembly is in the retracted position.

SMART BED BODY STRUCTURE
A smart bed body structure includes: a bed body, a control unit, a speech recognition unit and an audio device. The control unit is electrically connected with the speech recognition unit; the speech recognition unit is electrically connected with the audio device. The bed body includes: a load-bearing mechanism, at least one turnover mechanism and a base. The control unit and the audio device are arranged on the bottom face of the load-bearing mechanism. The load-bearing mechanism is arranged on the top face of the base, the turnover mechanisms being arranged between the load-bearing mechanism and the base, the load-bearing mechanism can be upwards turned over relative to the base by means of the turnover mechanisms. The control unit is electrically connected with the turnover mechanisms.
Patient support apparatus with articulating fowler deck section traveling through arcuate path
A patient support apparatus includes a support frame and a patient support deck operatively attached to the support frame. The patient support deck includes an adjacent pair of deck sections. An actuator is coupled to a first one of the adjacent deck sections, and the actuator, in combination with a deck articulating assembly, moves the first one of the adjacent deck sections relative to the support frame and second one of the adjacent pair of deck sections between an initial configuration and a raised configuration. In the raised configuration, the inner adjacent end of the first deck section is spaced further from the corresponding inner adjacent end of the second deck section, and the outer end opposite the inner adjacent end of the first one of the adjacent deck sections is spaced further away from the support frame, than in the initial configuration.

Hospital bed having rounding checklist
A patient support apparatus, such as a hospital bed, communicates with an electronic medical record (EMR) system in healthcare facility. The hospital bed includes a patient support structure to support a patient, a graphical user interface coupled to the patient support structure, and control circuitry coupled to the graphical user interface. The graphical user interface displays at least one input that may be used by a caregiver to chart data into an electronic medical record (EMR) of a patient supported by the patient support structure.

Handset for controlling a support device or a movable surface
A handset for controlling a device having a plurality of movable parts defining a support, or a movable surface, the handset having a housing, a touchscreen display on a front face of the housing, the touchscreen display being adapted to display an image representative of a device or surface to be controlled, and a control system within the housing which is connected to the touchscreen display, wherein the control system has an input module which is adapted to receive an input command in the form of a gesture drawn on the touchscreen display, and an output module which is adapted to generate an output control signal, associated with the input command, for transmission to the device or surface.

Patient support apparatus for removably retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices
A patient support apparatus for removably retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices. The patient support apparatus comprises a base, a litter with a patient support deck for supporting the patient, and a side rail. The side rail is coupled to the litter and arranged for movement relative to the base. The side rail includes a caddy comprising a back, a first brace, and a second brace spaced from the first brace. The first brace extends laterally from the back and defines a first bottom support region. The second brace extends laterally from the back and defines a second bottom support region converging toward the first bottom support region to arrange the first and second bottom support regions to provide differing points of contact for retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices.
