Patient support apparatus with articulating fowler deck section traveling through arcuate path
A patient support apparatus includes a support frame and a patient support deck operatively attached to the support frame. The patient support deck includes an adjacent pair of deck sections. An actuator is coupled to a first one of the adjacent deck sections, and the actuator, in combination with a deck articulating assembly, moves the first one of the adjacent deck sections relative to the support frame and second one of the adjacent pair of deck sections between an initial configuration and a raised configuration. In the raised configuration, the inner adjacent end of the first deck section is spaced further from the corresponding inner adjacent end of the second deck section, and the outer end opposite the inner adjacent end of the first one of the adjacent deck sections is spaced further away from the support frame, than in the initial configuration.
Hospital bed having rounding checklist
A patient support apparatus, such as a hospital bed, communicates with an electronic medical record (EMR) system in healthcare facility. The hospital bed includes a patient support structure to support a patient, a graphical user interface coupled to the patient support structure, and control circuitry coupled to the graphical user interface. The graphical user interface displays at least one input that may be used by a caregiver to chart data into an electronic medical record (EMR) of a patient supported by the patient support structure.
SIDERAIL POWER COMMUNICATION INTERFACE
A siderail assembly for a person support apparatus comprises a siderail body, a grip portion, and a power communication device. The siderail body includes a front surface, a back surface, and a side surface extending between the front surface and the back surface. The side surface defines a perimeter of the siderail body. The grip portion includes a siderail opening through a portion of the siderail body. The grip opening has an upper grip opening portion that cooperates with the side surface to define a grip. The power communication device is configured to communicate power to a device.
MULTI-ALERT LIGHTS FOR HOSPITAL BED
A patient support apparatus, such as a hospital bed, includes an alert light assembly or an alert light module having separate zones that are individually illuminated to convey information regarding respective alert conditions. The zones each have indicia related to a particular condition of the patient support apparatus. The illuminated zones are each sufficiently large so as to be seen from afar, such as on the order of ten feet or more. Alternatively or additionally, a GUI of the patient support apparatus displays alert indicia as part of a screen saver. Further alternatively or additionally, the patient support apparatus illuminates an alert light in a manner indicating an optimal time for taking a patient's vital signs.
PATIENT SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSISTING CAREGIVERS WITH PATIENT CARE
A patient support system for providing customized user menus. The system comprises a patient support apparatus, a user interface configured to receive input from a user, and a display configured to display user menus or information. The user menus may comprise indicia representative of the operational functions of the patient support apparatus. A controller determines the customized user menu based on usage characteristics, a position of the user interface in proximity to the patient support apparatus, a location of the user interface within a facility, an identification of the user, and/or a patient condition. A touchscreen and/or a mobile device may comprise the user interface and the display. The mobile device may be removably coupled to the patient support apparatus. Methods for improving patient care by providing the customized user menu are also disclosed.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL MEDICAL BED
A multifunctional medical bed that can be used to care for patients who are required to periodically change their body position. The claimed multifunctional medical bed solves the problem of creating a bed with the possibility of safe movement of the patient and his or her positioning into a prone position in combination with functions for the prevention of pulmonological and cardiovascular complications associated with immobility of the patient.
Electrically Active Hospital Bed Caddy with Adjustable Mobile Device Mount and Cable Harness
A representative embodiment of a hospital bed caddy is disclosed, comprising: a housing having a base panel with a first opening and one or more side panels coupled to the base panel to form a plurality of compartments, including first and second compartments; a bed rail attachment; a plurality of electrical interfaces arranged in the second compartment; a plurality of electrical cables arranged in the first opening, with each electrical cable coupled within the second compartment to a corresponding electrical interface; and a cable harness or sheath coupled around the plurality of electrical cables. A cover panel may be included, with the cover panel separating the second compartment from the first compartment, and with the electrical interfaces being user-accessible from within the first compartment. Various embodiments may also include one or more slots in the various panels and a moveable extension arm with a mobile device mount.
Patient Transport Apparatus Having An Extender for a Head Deck Section
A patient transport apparatus including a base, an intermediate frame, a support deck with a fowler section, and a deck extension assembly with a head deck section, a brace extending between a mount end and a coupling end, and a pivot coupling attached to the coupling end and supporting the head deck section. A mount operatively attached to the fowler section defines a receiver slidably supporting the brace adjacent to the mount end for movement along a brace axis. A retainer interposed between the mount and the brace selectively retains the brace in one of a plurality of extension positions and is operable between: a retained configuration to prevent movement, and a released configuration to permit movement of the brace between the extension positions. Operation changes from the retained configuration to the released configuration in response to force applied to the head deck section along the brace axis.
Patient support apparatus with automatic exit detection modes of operation
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, etc., for supporting a patient includes an exit detection system with multiple user-selectable modes of operation that each have different sensitivity levels for triggering an exit alert. The exit detection system also includes one or more non-user selectable modes of operation that are automatically implemented in response to a triggering action. For example, a transition mode may be automatically implemented when the user attempts to switch from a first user-selectable mode to a different user selectable mode, or a motion mode may be automatically implemented when movement of one or more components of the patient support apparatus occurs. In the transition mode, the exit detection system may use a least restrictive sensitivity level. In the motion mode, the exit detection system may inhibit exit alerts and/or change the criteria for issuing the exit alert.
Person support apparatuses with motion monitoring
A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes an exit detection system that utilizes an occupant motion parameter to determine whether to issue an alert or not. The motion parameter may be based on the weight and motion of the occupant. Successive positions of the occupant are determined in order to calculate a velocity of the occupant. In some embodiments, the kinetic energy of the occupant is used to determine if an alert should be issued. Objects positioned on the person support apparatus may also be detected and tracked. Auto-zeroing of a built-in scale, as well as automatic recognition of the removal, movement, and/or addition of objects is also provided.
