A method for monitoring an environment for a patient on a patient support device can include: receiving a temperature reading from a wireless sensor coupled to a body of the patient; comparing the temperature reading to air flowing through an airflow system associated with the patient support device; and modifying the air flowing through the airflow system.
BEDSORE RELIEVING BED
The present invention is a bed for relieving bed sores and other contact related discomfort while lying in bed, which provides a solution to the problem of contact or pressure related discomfort or injury while lying in bed especially if bedridden for a significant amount of time. The core components of the invention are a first support layer and a second support layer with a first opening defined vertically in the first support layer and the second support layer and at least one second opening defined horizontally through the first support layer. Generally speaking, the components are configured as follows: The second support layer is above and fixed to the first support layer, first opening, and the at least one second opening allow air flow to the back or other exposed body part of a person laying on the bed.

A patient support apparatus may include a support surface configured to conduct air along a top face of the support surface so that heat and moisture from a patient lying on the support surface are drawn away from the top face of the support surface. An opening may be formed in a side of the support surface. A cavity may extend from the opening into the support surface. An inlet port may be positioned within the cavity and fluidly coupled to the top face. A blower assembly may be configured to position within the cavity. The blower assembly may have an outlet port that couples to the inlet port when the blower assembly is positioned within the cavity. The blower assembly may conduct air through the inlet port to the top face of the support surface.

A patient support apparatus includes a support surface including a topper. An opening is formed in a side of the support surface. A cavity extends from the opening into the support surface. An inlet port is positioned within the cavity and fluidly coupled to the topper. A pneumatic blower is configured to removably position within the cavity and has an outlet port that couples to the inlet port.
Pressure Injury Relief System
The present invention is a pressure injury relief system for patient recovery and transport comprising a plurality of regions of open-cell foam support material each being separately tuned for the portion of the patient body that it is supporting. At least one cut-out region occurs between opposing padded regions to correspond to a patient's bony prominence when said patient lies on said cushioning support.
MICROCLIMATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING SURFACE PERFORMANCE
A microclimate management system including a person support surface including one or more sensors, a fluid supply device coupled to an inlet of the person support surface and configured to supply fluid to an outlet the person support surface, and a controller configured to detect an inlet condition value at the inlet of the person support surface, detect an outlet condition value at the outlet of the person support surface, determine a difference between the inlet condition value and the outlet condition value, and transmit a first alert in response to determining that a rate of change of the difference between the inlet condition value and the outlet condition value is below a lower condition threshold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING COMFORT INDIVIDUALS IN CONTACT WITH SURFACES
Described herein are devices, systems, and methods relating to making individuals comfortable when in contact with surfaces (e.g., seats and beds) including preventing pressure injuries on subjects. In embodiments, disclosed herein are pressure injury prevention systems comprising actuator assemblies that can simultaneously provide immersion and offloading of pressure while allowing a subject to retain balance. In other embodiments, moisture control devices and/or sensing networks can be used in conjunction with said actuator assemblies to prevent pressure injuries in a subject in need thereof. In embodiments, also described herein are computing devices and applications that alert a manual intervention or trigger an automated intervention between the individual and the intervention surface based on a risk determination. Such interventions can send instructions to the system to relieve pressure and/or moisture at one or more interface locations on the interface surface between the system and a subject according to a set of rules based on a predetermined profile, data collected continuously in real time, or both.
Air-conditioned mattress
An air-conditioned mattress includes a mat device, a cover device, and an air-conditioning device. The mat device includes a first mat configured as a three-dimensional structure made from a plurality of elastic thermoplastic filaments that are randomly tangled with each other. The thermoplastic filaments are fixedly connected at contact portions of the thermoplastic filaments in a way that through holes are formed at non-contact portions of the thermoplastic filaments. The cover device covers the mat device and contacts the top surface of the first mat, and the first mat is more air-permeable than the cover device. The air-conditioning device is disposed inside or outside the mat device and provides heated air flow or cooled air flow into the first mat.
Dry immersion bed
The dry-immersion bed of the present invention is suitable for intensive care units (ICUs) and fulfills the function of providing treatment for diseases such as capillary leak syndrome. The dry immersion bed fulfills the function of recovering cardiovascular physiology by normalizing the systemic distribution of water, albumin and electrolytes, and improving lymphatic drainage, venous return, cardiac output, cell metabolism and immunity.
DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR TRANSPORTING INFANTS
The present invention provides devices and system useful for transporting infants, minimizing vibrations, noise, and associated with transport. Devices of the invention include a head gear assembly, one or more body support rolls for elevating portions of the infant's body, and a mattress system with a removable insert. The invention further provides methods of use associated with such devices, including methods of stabilizing a position of an infant, reducing shock or vibration to an infant during transportation, reducing shock, vibration, or noise exposure to an infant during transportation, reducing shock or vibration while providing elevation to specific portions of an infant during transportation, and reducing the risk of intraventricular hemorrhage and/or persistent pulmonary hypertension to an infant during transportation.
