Patient securement system for the surgical Trendelenburg position
A patient securing overlay is provided that includes a sheet of fabric for supporting a patient's torso on a surgical table. The sheet of fabric has an upper surface configured to face the patient and a lower surface configured to face a surgical table mattress or underbody support. The sheet of fabric includes friction enhancing elements applied to at least a portion of the upper surface thereof. The sheet of fabric can include an extension at a foot end of the sheet of fabric that provides material to be tucked under a foot end of the surgical table mattress or underbody support for securing the foot end of the sheet of fabric to the surgical table mattress or underbody support. The extension can include one or more friction enhancing elements.
PATIENT TRANSFER TRAINING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a patient transfer training system (200), comprising: a sheet (210); a processing unit (220); and a plurality of indicator devices (230). The sheet is configured to be carried by at least one person during transfer of a simulated patient from one area to another area of a medical establishment. The system is configured to generate information relating to support and position of the simulated patient during the transfer. The processing unit is configured to determine a required change in support and/or a required change in position of the simulated patient during the transfer. The determination comprises utilization of the information relating to support and position of the simulated patient during the transfer. The processing unit is configured to control one or more of the plurality of indicator devices to provide instructional information to one or more of the at least one person comprising utilization of the information relating to the required change in support and/or the required change in position of the simulated patient during the transfer.
A PATIENT TRANSFER MATTRESS
Described is a patient transfer mattress for lifting and transferring patients. The patient transfer mattress can be used in a gentle and pressure ulcer preventative approach. Also described is a method for lifting and/or transferring a patient using a patient transfer mattress.
Combined Patient Handling and Surgical Positioning System for Use with Mechanical LIfts in the Operating Room
The present invention provides a combined patient handling and surgical positioning system for use with a mechanical lift for positioning a patient on a surgical table. A pad assembly has a base with a top surface. The base has a plurality of handles attached thereto. The handles have openings defined therein. A foam top is fixedly mounted to the top surface of the base. At least one strap is attached to the pad assembly. The pad assembly is configured to prevent bunching when lifting or repositioning the patient during surgical table positioning changes required during surgery and the pad assembly is configured for movement in multiple directions during surgery. An elongate support member is configured to extend through the openings in the plurality of handles on the pad assembly. A plurality of lifting slings are configured to removably attach to the elongate support bar to the mechanical lift in a surgical theater.
Patient slider device
A patient slider device configured to move a patient from a first bed surface to a second bed surface positioned adjacent thereto. The patient slider device includes a frame, a bed engagement assembly and a patient pulling assembly. The bed engagement assembly includes a bumper with the bumper being adjustable relative to the frame. The patient pulling assembly includes a winch assembly, preferably positioned proximate a lower end of the frame, and a sheet engaging clamp assembly. The sheet engaging clamp assembly includes a base member and a locking member structurally configured to clamp a sheet therebetween.
APPARATUS FOR TURNING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT WITH SENSOR ELEMENTS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A patient positioning system comprising a wedge comprising a wedge body and a plurality of sensors coupled to the wedge body, wherein the wedge body is configured to deform in response to a pressure applied to the wedge body, the plurality of sensors coupled to the wedge body, wherein the plurality of sensors are configured to sense pressure applied to the wedge body.
Patient transfer system
Disclosed is a patient transfer system for transferring a user between a bed and a purposefully designed mobile sitting device that is aligned and berthed alongside the bed, wherein, the bed is adaptable to a seated arrangement and includes an interleaf structure of cushions and platforms, the platform including: a padding, a rail, restricted path, or track, and means for transferring the padding in a direction parallel to the ground away or towards the bed; the bed further includes means to raise or lower the top of the cushions or the padding; and the mobile sitting device includes a receiving rail, restricted path or track to receive the padding.
TRENDELENBURG PATIENT POSITIONING DEVICE
Embodiments of an inflatable transfer device including a top panel, a bottom panel coupled to the top panel to define an inflatable chamber therebetween, and a high-friction surface coupled to the top panel are disclosed. A top edge of each of the stringers is coupled to the top panel and a bottom edge of each of the stringers is coupled to the bottom panel. The high-friction surface is configured to maintain a patient in a fixed position when the inflatable transfer device and the patient are positioned at an angle with respect to a horizontal support surface.
Patient positioning and turning sheet
A patient turning sheet includes a flexible rectangular bottom sheet that has a surface area sized to support the majority of the body of a person lying on the patient turning sheet. A flexible rectangular top sheet is sewn to the bottom sheet and has a surface area less than the surface area of the bottom sheet. The top sheet is sewn to the bottom sheet, offset toward the head end of the turning sheet to be positioned at the area of maximum contact and load of the patient on the turning sheet. A foam pad is disposed between the bottom sheet and the top sheet that is relatively less flexible than the bottom or top sheets.
APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR TURNING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a sheet having a bottom surface placed above the supporting surface of the bed, a top surface, and a plurality of tether straps connected to and extending from the sheet. Each tether strap is configured for connection to the bed. The bottom surface is at least partially formed of a low friction material, and the top surface is at least partially formed of a high friction material, such that the top surface provides greater slipping resistance than the bottom surface. The tether straps include at least two pairs of tether straps, with one pair connected proximate a top edge of the sheet and another pair connected proximate a bottom edge of the sheet. The sheet may further include a sliding member on the bottom surface to assist in lateral sliding of the sheet.
