Techniques For Managing Patient Therapy Protocols

A system and a method for managing patient therapy protocols are disclosed. The system includes a patient support apparatus for supporting a patient, a first input device for use by a first caregiver, a location system for determining a location of the first caregiver, and a therapy management system. The therapy management system receives a location of the first caregiver and a selection of a patient therapy protocol, which includes a location requirement. The therapy management system then determines whether the first caregiver location input signal satisfies the location requirement before initiating the selected patient therapy protocol or notifying the second caregiver if the location of the first caregiver does not satisfy the location requirement.

Patient transport apparatus with movable head section

A patient transport apparatus comprises support structure. The support structure comprises a base, a support frame, and a patient support deck. A headboard and a footboard are coupled to the support structure. The support frame comprises a head section and a body section, the body section coupled to the patient support deck. The patient support deck comprises a patient support surface capable of articulating relative to the support frame. The head section is movable relative to the body section to define first and second configurations of the support frame, the support frame having a first footprint in the first configuration and a second footprint, smaller than the first footprint, in the second configuration.

Rotational support apparatus

Moving an individual with limited mobility from one seated position to another requires a significant effort from the caregiver and can expose the individual and the caregiver to several injuries. The rotational support apparatus is useful in safely assisting individuals with limited mobility to move from one seated position to another with minimal effort. The apparatus is lightweight and portable. The base of the apparatus rotates so the caregiver can easily move the position of the individual. The base can be coupled with a stabilizing device that the individual with limited mobility can hold on to while the caregiver rotates them to another position.

SMART SLING FOR PATIENT TRANSFER ASSISTANCE

A smart sling for patient transfer assistance includes a first driving unit, a second driving unit, a wire part and a sling unit. The first driving unit is configured to provide a rotational driving force. The second driving unit is spaced apart from the first driving unit by a predetermined distance. The wire part extends between the first driving unit and the second driving unit. The sling unit is configured to unfold toward the second driving unit from a folded state into the first driving unit along the wire part, to position a patient on the sling unit.

Patient slider device

A patient slider device configured to move a patient from a first bed surface to a second bed surface positioned adjacent thereto. The patient slider device includes a frame, a bed engagement assembly and a patient pulling assembly. The bed engagement assembly includes a bumper with the bumper being adjustable relative to the frame. The patient pulling assembly includes a winch assembly, preferably positioned proximate a lower end of the frame, and a sheet engaging clamp assembly. The sheet engaging clamp assembly includes a base member and a locking member structurally configured to clamp a sheet therebetween.

A patient transport apparatus transports a patient over a floor surface. The patient transport apparatus comprises a support structure and support wheels coupled to the support structure. An auxiliary wheel is coupled to the support frame to influence motion of the patient transport apparatus over a floor surface. The auxiliary wheel is movable to a deployed position with the auxiliary wheel engaging the floor surface and a stowed position with the auxiliary wheel spaced a distance from the floor surface. An actuator assembly including a lift actuator a biasing device, and a biasing load adjustment assembly. The lift actuator is operable to move the auxiliary wheel to the deployed position and to the stowed position. The biasing device configured to bias the auxiliary wheel towards the deployed position. The biasing load adjustment assembly configured to adjust a biasing force being applied by the biasing device to the auxiliary wheel.

Lifting devices for positioning a lift actuator in a high range position and a low range position are disclosed. The lifting devices may include a lift mast, a lift arm pivotally coupled to the lift mast, a lift actuator having a first end and a second end, and a linkage member having a first end and a second end. The first end of the lift actuator is pivotally coupled to the lift mast. The first end of the linkage member is pivotally coupled to the lift arm and the second end of the linkage member is pivotally coupled to the second end of the lift actuator such that the lift actuator includes a high range position relative to the lift arm and a low range position relative to the lift arm.

Patient Support Apparatus With Load Cell Assemblies

A patient support apparatus comprises a patient support deck and a base frame assembly. The base frame assembly comprises a first frame assembly supporting a plurality of wheels, and a second frame assembly supporting one or more lift arms that are coupled to the patient support deck to the second frame assembly. A load cell assembly is interposed between the first and second frame assemblies to sense force acting on the first frame assembly associated with weight applied to the second frame assembly. The load cell assembly comprises: a load cell element coupled to one of the first frame assembly and the second frame assembly; a first pivot mount operatively attached to the load cell element; a second pivot mount operatively attached to the other of the first frame assembly and the second frame assembly; and a swing link arranged for pivoting movement.

Flexible leg supporting membrane, leg support frame and mobile patient standing and raising aid

A flexible supporting membrane is made from a stretchable material formed into a sheet that adjusts itself based on the pressure applied by a patient's knees. The membrane includes: a top edge adapted to be located in a vicinity of the knees of the patient when in use; a bottom edge adapted to be located in a vicinity of the patient's ankles when in use; and a first and second lateral edge extending between the bottom edge and the top edge. The flexible supporting membrane further includes a central section and two peripheral sections extending along the direction defined by the lateral edges between the top edge and the bottom edge of the sheet. The peripheral sections are adapted for each supporting one of the two knees of a patient by yielding to the pressure exerted by the knees and thus forming a knee cradling depression.

Control Unit

Control unit (7), especially for a patient lift (1) comprising a base (10) and a power supply (8), said power supply (8) is releasably mounted on the base (10), and comprising locking means for retaining the power supply (8) on the base (10). The locking means comprises a set of slots and protrusions (17,18;20,22) on the base (10) and the power supply (8) and where the protrusions and slots engage each other, when the base (10) and the power supply (8) is displaced sideways in relation to each other. A tab (27) is arranged on an arm (24) of the locking handle (23). The tab (27) goes into the gap (28) between the base (10) and the power supply (8), when the locking handle (23) is locked. Thus, the protrusions (17,20) and slots (18,22) are in engagement with each other and at the same time functioning as a locking mechanism.
