INFANT WARMER MATTRESS SUPPORT EXTENSION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for providing safe and effective access for a newborn infant, i.e. a neonate, to a neonatal warming device while the umbilical cord is still intact. The apparatus comprises a stable support extension tray that enables movement of the mattress and the warmed surface of the warming device to allow for delayed cord clamping (DCC) of an umbilical cord attached to the infant and mother, while also providing full access to the life support features housed within the warming device, access for healthcare personnel to attend to the neonate, access for healthcare personnel to attend to the mother while maintaining sterile conditions for the mother in the case of a C-section (Caesarean section) delivery.
System and method for moving, turning, and positioning a patient
An apparatus includes a sheet having a top surface, a bottom surface, a first lateral side, and a second lateral side, a first flap coupled to the bottom surface proximate the first lateral side, a second flap coupled to the bottom surface proximate the second lateral side and longitudinally offset from the first flap, a first strap coupled to the first flap, and a second strap coupled to the second flap.
NURSING-CARE DEVICE
Provided is a nursing-care device capable of easily moving a care-requiring person from the nursing-care device to medical/nursing-care equipment arranged at the side of a bed. One embodiment of the present invention includes a bed body having a floor portion at an upper surface, one and the other support bases supporting both ends of the bed body, support rods extending upward of the floor portion, and a lifting/lowering unit configured to lift/lower the bed body and the support rods. A lifting member is attached to the support rods. The support rods are lowered in a case where the bed body is lifted by the lifting/lowering unit, and are lifted in a case where the bed body is lowered. In a case where the support rods are lowered, the lowermost portion of the lifting member is moved to below the floor portion of the bed body.
Wheelchair lift-transfer device
An improved wheelchair lift-transfer device provides capabilities for a patient or caregiver to independently control the wheelchair and lift functions to elevate and move about safely. The compact lift-transfer device is readily usable to assist in transporting and lifting patients from various locations including wheelchairs, beds and chairs. Further, the lift-transfer device is also collapsible for storage and transport.
Patient Turner-Puller & Attachments
The system uses a motor, and a rolling tube or rod of sufficient strength to apply a pull force on one side of a sheet on the bed with the patient lying on the sheet to help pull up the patient on his bed or turn patients on his side with little manual effort. The sheet used has an underside which is slidable to reduce the friction and having a plurality of loops on the sides to connect to the pull straps. The loops to which the pull straps are connected are chosen to apply equal force to pull or turn the patient on the sheet. Patients having mobility issues have to be routinely pulled up or turned on their sides to make them comfortable and avoid formation of bed sores. These operations have caused back problems for many caregivers. The system disclosed provides mechanized help for these operations.
Patient positioning system
A patient positioning system configured for positioning and supporting a patient against movement, the positioning system comprising: an arm positioner configured to be positionable about an arm of the patient. The arm positioner has a triangular wedge with a planar base and an angled leg, an end of the triangular wedge of the arm positioner is located to extend between the base of the arm positioner and the angled leg of the arm positioner and configured to abut the arm of the patient. An upper flexible flap extends away from the angled leg of the arm positioner adjacent the end of the triangular wedge; and a lower flexible flap extends away from the base of the arm positioner adjacent the end of the triangular wedge. The upper flexible flap and the lower flexible flap are configured to be oppositely wrapped around the arm of the patient to snugly envelope the arm and secure it relative to the triangular wedge.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOVING, TURNING, AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
An apparatus including a sheet having a top surface, a bottom surface, a first lateral side, and a second lateral side. The sheet further includes a first strap coupled to the sheet proximate the first lateral side, a second strap coupled to the sheet proximate the second lateral side, and longitudinally offset from the first strap, and an opening in the sheet providing a passage between the top surface and the bottom surface of the sheet.
Changing table
A changing table has a changing surface on which an individual can lie to be changed or washed. The changing surface is formed from a sheet of semi-rigid material having a longitudinal center axis and having also, parallel to the center axis, first and second edges occupying nominal rest positions with respect to each other when there is no load on the surface, the said edges being fixed to first and second longitudinal members, the sheet and longitudinal members forming together a support system having for the first 10 mm of extension between the said center line and the said nominal rest position of the said first edge and between the said center line and the said nominal rest position of the said second edge an average spring rate in extension of more than 300 N/mm and the said semi-rigid sheet having a torsion coefficient of more than 10 Nm/radian.
Lift and method for use of a lift for positioning a patient relative to a surgical frame
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
