Rotational support apparatus
Moving an individual with limited mobility from one seated position to another requires a significant effort from the caregiver and can expose the individual and the caregiver to several injuries. The rotational support apparatus is useful in safely assisting individuals with limited mobility to move from one seated position to another with minimal effort. The apparatus is lightweight and portable. The base of the apparatus rotates so the caregiver can easily move the position of the individual. The base can be coupled with a stabilizing device that the individual with limited mobility can hold on to while the caregiver rotates them to another position.
Patient Lifting System
Method and apparatus for a patient lifting system having an upright pole having a lower end attached to a base wherein the base is mounted on a supporting surface such as a floor proximate a bed of the patient. Extending laterally away from the pole is an angularly adjustable arm or extension which is user selectable to be either; e.g., at a 90-degree angle or a 45-degree angle, which arm is supported by a brace connected. between the extension arm and the upright pole. The pole is rotatable in a 360 degree arc and is hollow on the inside which allows a load line to travel through the interior of the gin pole from its lower end to its upper outlet end and includes a plurality of pulleys which allow the load line to travel through the inside of the hoisting system. Also included as a part of the hoisting system is a load line attached to the lower end of the pole using a wench or the like. The wench is electrically operated by a handheld electrical controller which can be held in the hand of a patient so that the patient can assist in maneuvering himself
Vehicle door mounted lift assist device
A lift assist device employs a striker mounting assembly having a case with a receiving chamber having a top channel and a lower channel. A striker housing is removably insertable in the receiving chamber and has a receiver adapted to be inserted over a striker on a door of a vehicle. The striker housing has a top flange with an upper alignment aperture and a bottom flange with a lower alignment aperture, the upper alignment aperture and lower alignment aperture aligned with the top channel and lower channel with the striker housing inserted in the receiving chamber. A striker pin assembly is adapted for removable insertion through the top channel, upper alignment aperture into a striker on a door of a vehicle and through the lower aperture into the lower channel. A pivot assembly is engaged to the case with a pivot pin. A lift assembly has a mounting structure engaged to the pivot assembly with a telescoping support arm depending from the mounting structure. A seat is attached to a terminal end of the telescoping support arm.
TOILET SEAT ASSIST SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING SAME
An apparatus is described herein that comprises a toilet seat assist system configured to be mounted to a toilet. The seat has a forward end portion and an aft end portion, an upper portion and a lower portion, a base having an upper portion connected to the lower portion of the seat, and a lower portion, at least one forward pivot mechanism connecting the seat to the base, at least one non-electric biasing energy storage mechanism connected to the upper portion of the base and the lower portion of the seat, the non-electric biasing energy storage mechanism being configured to move the aft end portion of the seat between a lowered position and a raised position. Corresponding methods also are disclosed.
ASSISTED ROTATION DEVICE
A portable rotation assist device is configured to reorient mobility impaired patients when they are moving from one location to another such as from a vehicle seat to a wheelchair. The rotation device is placed on the floor or ground between the two positions. The patient stands or can be assisted to stand on the platform on top of the device. The platform is then rotated to a second position to transfer the patient. Rotational movement and torque is provided by an onboard battery and compact motor acting through gears incorporated into the rotating platform. Choice of rotation direction and actuation of start and stop is provided by a wireless remote control. Remote control buttons are configured so they must be held down during rotation and rotation stops upon button release.
Rotatable bath seat with linear actuator
Disclosed is a movable bath seat device employing a linear actuator to assist an individual with decreased mobility in and out of a bathtub. The linear actuator employs a direct current motor with limit switches to move the seat between positions. The device permits an individual to take a position on the seat outside the bathtub and, by use of the actuator, move their torso to a position inside the bath tub side walls. The seat can then rotate, allowing an individual to lift their legs into the bathtub at their convenience. In a preferred embodiment, the cushion on the rotating seat assembly is constructed of a slip resistant padding comprised of medical grade, closed cell molded polyurethane padding that does not absorb water.
Multi-function adaptable lift system
A lift system has a back panel and a seat panel to provide a seat. The back panel is slidably mounted on a support column via slider so that the back panel can be moved up and down to adjust the seat height. The seat panel can be flipped back when the back panel is in an upright position. The back panel, together with the support column, can be oriented in a horizontal position and the seat panel can be adjusted similarly. With the support column, the lift system can be attached to a wheeled frame for mobility, but it can also be attached to a pole, a rotatable arm, a wall or a ceiling.
Patient raiser
The application relates to a device for, and method of transferring a patient on a bed between a lying position along a bed to a seated position facing the side of a bed. The device comprises an arm hold to allow the patient to clinch the arm hold to his or her chest, thereby enabling the device to transfer the patient between a lying position and a seated position. Preferably, the device further comprises a leg support to assist in transferring the lower portion of the patients body between a lying position and a seated position.
Rotating assembly for electrically coupling a lift unit to a power source
