SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING A NITRIC OXIDE BATH AND METHODS OF USE
Systems, products, compounds, and methods can be applied and/or used by a person to facilitate and promote the production of nitric oxide to be used by a person for health benefits. The systems, products, and devices include a nitric oxide bath system. The systems and methods can comprise one or more compounds that when mixed are adapted to produce nitric oxide gas, with at least one nitrite compound and at least one acid compound. The nitric oxide gas may then be delivered to a user transdermally via one or more bath applications.
PROCEDURE AND DEVICE TO PRODUCE A REFLEX TEAR SECRETION AND A KIT FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF THE MAGNITUDE OF THE EVOKED TEAR FLOW
Procedure for the generation of a reflex tear secretion, which comprises the chemical stimulation of the cornea of the eye of a subject by applying a controlled jet of a gas with a high CO.sub.2 content, of at least 80% of CO.sub.2. Compact device (1,1′) for the generation of a reflex tear secretion, comprising a gas source (7) in the form of a disposable type cartridge containing a pressurized gas with a composition of at least 80% of CO.sub.2; and a pneumatic circuit connecting an outlet mouth of said gas source (7) with a gas outlet nozzle (3) of the device (1,1′), the circuit comprising pressure regulation means (8) and flow rate (17) regulation means suitable for ejecting puffs of gas through the outlet nozzle (3) at a predetermined pressure and flow rates.
Method and apparatus for therapeutic gas treatment
A handheld therapeutic apparatus and method of treatment are disclosed. In one example, the apparatus includes a valve system, a detachable gas cartridge housing unit that houses a gas cartridge or gas delivery from an outside gas cylinder in fluid communication with said valve system, a detachable treatment receptacle for the delivery of gas therapies is in fluid communication with said valve system, and a detachable nozzle in fluid communication with said valve system.
METHODS FOR TREATING RHINITIS AND CONJUNCTIVITIS
Apparatus, methods, and kits for treating symptoms associated with common ailments, such as headaches, rhinitis, asthma, epilepsy, nervous disorders and the like, are provided. The apparatus comprises dispensers for carbon dioxide other therapeutic gases. The methods comprise delivering small volumes of these gases to patients in a manner where the gas infuses into a body region in order to bathe the mucous membranes therein. It has been found that even very short exposure of patients to small volumes and high concentrations of such gases can provide significant relief from symptoms.
Monitoring or ventilation apparatus for cardiopulmonary resuscitation with determination of an airway opening index
The invention relates to a monitoring and/or respiratory assistance apparatus that can be used during a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with successive chest compressions of duration (dt) performed on the patient and with relaxations, said apparatus comprising a CO.sub.2 content measurement sensor (10) a graphical user interface (14), and signal-processing system (11) configured to process the CO.sub.2 content measurement signals in such a way as to determine at least one maximum CO.sub.2 content value (Vmax) and at least one minimum CO.sub.2 content value (Vmin), during at least one duration (dt) of at least one chest contraction, and then to calculate at least one airway opening index AOI or mean index AOI.sub.mean on the basis of the CO.sub.2 content values. Said one or more indices are displayed on the GUI in the form of numerical values or graphical representations, especially curves or pictograms.
Therapeutic eye treatment with gases
An apparatus to maintain an environment over an anterior surface of a patient eye can include an enclosure sized and shaped to be seated about the patient eye to form a cavity within the enclosure. The enclosure can be configured to contain a fluid other than ambient air in contact with the patient eye. The apparatus can include a fluid regulator in communication with the enclosure, where the fluid regulator can be configured to regulate the composition of the fluid contained within the enclosure.
Apparatus and process for producing CO.SUB.2 .enriched medical foam
The present invention provides an apparatus for producing medical foam for wound care or hair stimulation. The apparatus includes a foam generation unit having a fluid reservoir, a fluid delivery line and a foam generation tip. The apparatus also includes a compressed gas unit having at least one container of compressed gas, a source of electric power, and a gas regulator valve. A supply of wound care or hair stimulating solution is communicably connected to the foam generation tip such that when the apparatus is operated medical foam is produced by the foam generator tip.
Multimodal Device for Transdermal Treatments
The present invention includes an apparatus for transdermal treatments comprising: an openable enclosure for a subject in communication with three or more sources of treatment modalities selected from: a source of ozone; a source of steam, a source of CO.sub.2/Carbonic Acid; a source of Far Infrared; and a source of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), wherein each of the three or more sources is in communication with an interior of the openable enclosure to treat the subject transdermally.
