APPARATUS, METHOD AND SET FOR THE REGENERATION OF KNEE JOINT CARTILAGES
An apparatus for the regeneration of knee joint cartilages has a support housing on which a slide part is displaceably held. The slide part has a holding and/or supporting apparatus for a leg region below a knee joint of a leg. Furthermore, a controllable movement drive moves the slide part to and fro relative to the support housing along a predefinable adjustment path. The adjustment path is predefined such that a defined compressive/tensile loading can be applied to the knee joint. The holding and/or supporting apparatus is suitable for fixing a foot in a manner free from rotation on the slide part, and/or the support housing forms a leg support which is suitable for forming a continuous supporting surface from the foot as far as a thigh region.
Noninvasive, Regional Brain Thermal Stimulation for Inducing Relaxation
Methods, systems and devices for reducing anxiety, including increasing relaxation and/or calm. In some variations these methods may include reducing anxiety, increase relaxation and/or calm by non-invasive temperature regulation of the frontal cortex prior to and/or during sleep. The subject may have an anxiety disorder, or may not have a diagnosed anxiety disorder.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEAD UP CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.
MASSAGE CELL ARRANGEMENT AND MASSAGE CELL SYSTEM
A massage cell arrangement comprising a plurality of inflatable/deflatable cells arranged in a first series of successive cells, a plurality of inflatable/deflatable cells arranged in a second series of successive cells, the cells of a series of successive cells being substantially aligned along the main direction of extension of the series of successive cells, the first and second series being aligned such that the main direction of extension of the first series coincides with the main direction of extension of the second series, the first and second series being arranged such that two successive cells of the first series together cover 10-100% of a major surface area of a cell of the second series and wherein each of said two successive cells of the first series cover 5-95% of the major surface area of said cell of the second series.
TREATMENT OF HEADACHE DISORDERS
A method for treatment of a headache disorder in a human subject, including selecting at least one treatment area in the nasal cavity of the human subject, said treatment area being selected from a posterior part of the nasal cavity or an anterior part of the nasal cavity, providing a device including a stimulation member arranged for vibration stimulation of the selected treatment area, and at least one expansion member provided with a channel having a plurality of openings arranged for fluid communication with the stimulation member, introducing the stimulation member into a nasal cavity of the human subject, expanding the stimulation member to a volume such that the stimulation member abuts against the tissue to exert a pressure on tissue of the selected treatment area and bringing the stimulation member to vibrate in the nasal cavity to impart vibrations to the selected treatment area, wherein the vibrations are imparted to a posterior part of the nasal cavity, to an anterior part of the nasal cavity, sequentially to a posterior and an anterior part of the nasal cavity; or simultaneously to a posterior and an anterior part of the nasal cavity.
Shorts-type air pressure massager
A shorts-type pneumatic massage apparatus includes a shorts-pressurizing portion including a left shorts portion, which includes a plurality of air chambers extending in a longitudinal direction of the wearer's legs and which has a right side open from a top of a crotch, and a right shorts portion, which includes a plurality of longitudinal air chambers extending in the longitudinal direction of the wearer's legs and has a left side open from the top of the crotch, wherein the open right side of the left shorts portion and the open left side of the right shorts portion are coupled along an end; and an air injection adjustment portion configured to inject air to or discharge air from each of the longitudinal air chambers to allow the longitudinal air chambers to expand or contract.
NON-HUMAN ANIMAL COMPRESSION THERAPY DEVICES AND METHODS
Non-human animal compression therapy devices and methods. In some embodiments, the compression therapy devices includes one or more sleeves, each of the one or more sleeves being configured to fit a limb of a non-human animal, and each of the one or more sleeves comprising one or more inflatable chambers; and a controllable air source operably connected with the one or more inflatable chambers and configured to controllably inflate and deflate the one or more inflatable chambers. In some embodiments, at least one cycle of inflating and deflating of the one or more chambers starts by inflating the most distal chamber. In some embodiments, the compression therapy is given to eliminate or ease suffering from a disease or disorder or a sporting or work-related injury.
LUNG AIRWAY CLEARANCE
A system for providing treatment adapted to clear lung airways, the system including at least one pressure applicator adapted, when activated, to apply pressure at at least one specific location on a torso of a patient, and, when deactivated, to release the pressure, a sensor for sensing a signal associated with the patient, and, a controller, in communication with the sensor, adapted to analyze the signal and to control activation and deactivation of the at least one pressure applicator based, at least in part, on analyzing the signal. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
Differential air pressure exercise and therapeutic device
An exercise and therapeutic device includes a treadmill comprising a running belt coupled to a treadmill frame and an offloading system coupled to the treadmill. The offloading system includes an air chamber surrounding the running belt adapted to be selectively inflated between a deflated condition and an inflated, operating condition, a user seal coupled to the air chamber, adapted to receive a user so that, in an operating condition, at least a portion of a user is received in the user seal and positioned within the air chamber and to seal the air chamber around the user, a pump operable to inflate the air chamber, at least one strap coupled to the treadmill frame and adapted to restrict the expansion of the air chamber and adjust a spacing of the user seal relative to a running surface of the running belt when the air chamber is inflated.
Compression device
A compression device has a main body and a wrap. The main body has an air pump and a valve assembly. The valve assembly has a manifold, multiple first valves, and multiple air connectors. The manifold connects the air pump and the first valves. The air connectors are connected to the first valves respectively. The wrap is used for wrapping a human limb and has an air bag. The air bag has multiple pockets. The pockets are isolated from each other and connected to the air connectors respectively. Thus, each pocket can compress a part of the human limb independently. With the independent pockets, the compression device may compress a specified part of the human limb rather than the whole wrapped human limb. Moreover, with the pockets independently compressing and relaxing, the wrapped human limb may experience a massage, which helps the wrapped human limb to relax and recover.
