Method of treating pain
Aspects of the cutaneous stimulation devices include a cutaneous stimulation module and a cutaneous association element configured to stably associate the module with a skin location. The cutaneous stimulation module may be an active or passive module. Also provided are methods of using the devices, e.g., in rehabilitation and/or pain mitigation applications.
ADULT TOY
Embodiments of the present disclosure an adult toy is disclosed. The adult toy includes a substantially hollow cylindrical body and a vagina-shaped element arranged inside the substantially hollow cylindrical body. The vagina-shaped element includes an opening at a first end of the substantially hollow cylindrical body to receive a male genital organ thereof. Further, the adult toy includes a chamber arranged between the substantially hollow cylindrical body and the vagina-shaped element, surrounding the vagina-shaped element. The adult toy includes an air pump arranged towards a second end of the substantially hollow cylindrical body. The air pump is disposed in fluid communication with an ambient atmosphere and the chamber and configured to provide an air pressure inside the chamber. The chamber is adapted to inflate and deflate based on the air pressure thereof to cause the vagina-shaped element to compress and decompress to stimulate the male genital organ received inside thereof.
Walking assist device
A walking assist device includes: a pair of right and left handles that are movable back and forth with respect to a frame in accordance with arm swing performed during walk of a user; rails on which the handles are provided and which limit movement of the handles in a movable range in accordance with arm swing performed during the walk of the user; a handle information acquisition unit that acquires information related to movement of the handles; and a control unit that controls a drive unit in accordance with the information from the handle information acquisition unit.
Brace system
The present disclosure provides a brace system including an upper portion and a lower portion. The brace system may also include a first pulley rotatably coupling the upper portion to a first intermediate link positioned between the upper portion and the lower portion. The brace system may also include a second pulley rotatably coupling the first intermediate link to a second intermediate link positioned between the upper portion and the lower portion. The brace system may also include a third pulley rotatably coupling the second intermediate link to the lower portion. Further, the brace system may include at least one tension-bearing element substantially encircling each of the first pulley, the second pulley, and the third pulley.
Hip traction device, system, and methods
A hip traction device, system, and associated methods are disclosed. Such a device may include a base having a proximal end and a distal end, a guide coupled to the base, a carrier configured to move along the guide upon receiving a force from a tensioner to move the carrier toward the distal end of the base, causing a leg to be put in tension, and a single body coupling mechanism either removably attachable or permanently attached to the carrier and configured to securely attach to a lower portion of a leg, such that the portion of the leg moves with the carrier during operation of the tensioner.
Flexible members for anchoring to the body
A flexible anchor member comprising a member for placement about a body part; at least one substantially inextensible textile element circumscribing the member and secured to itself or the member; and a force transfer coupler coupling a portion of the at least one substantially inextensible textile element to an actuator such that the substantially inextensible textile element constricts about the member for a duration of an applied force. Another flexible anchor member comprising an outer member including a substantially inextensible textile material configured for directing a force applied by an actuator to act upon all or a portion of the body part; an inner member for positioning between the body part and the outer member, a first surface of the inner member configured for frictionally engaging the body part or intervening clothing; and at least one coupler for coupling the outer member and the inner member.
Apparatus for stimulating synchronized body motions of a user
An apparatus and method are provided for imparting a repetitive motion to a user. The apparatus may include one or more seat platforms and one or more backrests. Repeated motion of the pelvis and shoulders of the user may be contra lateral. The motions of the user may mimic walking. The apparatus may include a chair. The apparatus may include a sensor. The sensor may be used to control the apparatus and/or the sensor may be used to adjust the movement regime according to the user. The apparatus may help for example, to mobilize limited mobility users and/or to train healthier habits.
External Ear Canal Pressure Regulation System
An external ear canal pressure regulation device including a fluid flow generator and an earpiece having a first axial earpiece conduit fluidicly coupled to the fluid flow generator, whereby the earpiece has a compliant earpiece external surface configured to sealably engage an external ear canal as a barrier between an external ear canal pressure and an ambient pressure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEAD UP CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.
Soft Exosuit for Assistance with Human Motion
Systems and methods for providing assistance with human motion, including hip and ankle motion, are disclosed. Sensor feedback is used to determine an appropriate profile for actuating a wearable robotic system to deliver desired joint motion assistance. Variations in user kinetics and kinematics, as well as construction, materials, and fit of the wearable robotic system, are considered in order to provide assistance tailored to the user and current activity.
