Hip traction device, system, and methods
A hip traction device, system, and associated methods are disclosed. Such a device may include a base having a proximal end and a distal end, a guide coupled to the base, a carrier configured to move along the guide upon receiving a force from a tensioner to move the carrier toward the distal end of the base, causing a leg to be put in tension, and a single body coupling mechanism either removably attachable or permanently attached to the carrier and configured to securely attach to a lower portion of a leg, such that the portion of the leg moves with the carrier during operation of the tensioner.
SPINAL TRACTION DEVICE
A platform for providing spinal traction. Separate planar members having a generally flat and horizontal surface provide a platform for a user, who positions himself or herself in a supine position on a first planar member and a second planar member that form the platform. The first planar member has spaced apart vertical members that engage the user's underarms. The second planar member comprises a restraining member that surrounds the user at approximately the waist of the user. A drive apparatus allows the user to selectively and progressively separate the first planar member from the second planar member so that the vertical members pull the upper torso away from the lower portion of the person's body that is held in position relative to the second planar member by the restraining member.
INVERSION TABLE WITH AN ANKLE LOCKING SYSTEM
An inversion table includes a supporting stand having a first interlocking member, and a tilt inversion mechanism. The tilt inversion mechanism includes an inversion unit pivoted on the supporting stand, a feet holding unit, and a locking unit having a second interlocking member disposed on the inversion unit. The tilt inversion mechanism is operable relative to the supporting stand such that the feet holding unit is disengaged from the locking unit in a non-reversible state, and that the feet holding unit is engaged with the locking unit in a reversible state.
Device Holder for Inversion Table
A device holder for an inversion table. The device holder has a front portion, bottom portion, back portion, and lateral portions to retain a device placed into the device holder. The device holder may be attached to the fixed, non-rotating part of the inversion table or it may be attached to the rotating part of the inversion table.
INVERSION TABLE
An inversion table includes a supporting stand, a tilt inversion mechanism and an operating unit. The tilt inversion mechanism includes an inversion unit including a support table assembly which is pivotally disposed on the supporting stand, and an extension assembly which is coupled with and extends from the support table assembly downwardly. A feet holding unit includes a front feet holding assembly securely and non-pivotably disposed on a lower portion of the inversion unit, and a rear feet holding assembly pivotably and movably connected to the inversion unit. The operating unit includes an operating assembly operably coupled with the front feet holding assembly, and is rotatable about a rotating axis at the front feet holding assembly to actuate the rear feet holding assembly to rotate and move toward the front feet holding assembly. In an inversion state, the users feet is firmly held on the front feet holding assembly.
Safety key that identifies improper insertion
A key with extending wings. The with at least one wing that open when the key is not properly installed and the at least one wing retract into the body of the key when the key has been properly inserted regardless of the viewing angle of the key. The key identifies improper insertion and include a spring-loaded pin and inner shaft that engages into aligned locating holes in an inversion bench. In addition to the visual appearance, a blind user can feel the sides to the key to determine if the key has been properly inserted into the inversion bench.
Hip traction device and methods
A hip traction device and associated methods is disclosed. Such a device may include a base having a proximal end and a distal end, a guide coupled to the base, a carrier configured to move along the guide, a tensioner coupled to the base and configured to provide a force to the carrier to move the carrier toward the distal end of the base, causing a leg to be put in tension, and a single body coupling mechanism being removably attached to the carrier and being configured to securely attach to a lower portion of a leg when the body coupling mechanism is detached from the carrier.
Spinal decompression belt for use with inversion table
A spinal decompression belt for reducing the pressure exerted on a user's ankles when using an inversion table. The spinal decompression belt includes an elongated pad to be disposed around a user's abdomen and that can be secured by overlapping the end portions thereof. A cushioning member is removably securable to the interior of the first end for providing additional support to the user's abdomen. The elongated pad further includes an elongated strap therearound that includes an adjustable fastener for securing the belt to the user. An extension strap having an adjustable fastener thereon extends from the front of the elongated pad to the rear thereof and can be positioned between the legs of the user. The extension strap further includes a fastener, such as a ring, having a pair of ankle bar straps thereon that can be wrapped around the ankle bars of an inversion table.
COVER FOR A CONTACT ZONE
A cover for a contact zone between a rotatable surface and a stop, the cover having a top portion and a front portion. The cover may also include a lateral portion and a back portion to further surround the contact zone. An example of a contact zone may be found on an inversion therapy table, such as inversion therapy tables having a pin and slot adjustment mechanism.
SUPPORT APPARATUS FOR A SUBJECT AND A METHOD FOR SUPPORTING A SUBJECT IN A SUBSTANTIALLY INVERTED STATE
Apparatus (60) for supporting a subject (2) in an inverted state comprises a ground engaging plinth (8) and a support platform (12) pivotally coupled to the plinth (8) about a first pivot axis (15) so that the support platform (12) is pivotal between a first state with a subject (2) in a supine state on the support platform (12) and a second state with the subject (2) inverted on the support platform (12). The subject is supported in the inverted state on the support platform (12) by shoulder engaging elements (24), and is secured to the support platform (12) by a torso strap (35). A foot engageable element (77) connected to a weight carrying bar (84) through connecting members (79,82) extending through an elongated slot (80) in the support platform (12) allows leg and abdominal muscles to be exercised by urging the foot engageable element (77) in the direction of the arrow A against weights (85) carried on the weight carrying bar (84). A carrier element (81) slideable on a guide bar (83) guides the foot engageable element (77). Handgrips (86) are connected by steel cables (87) around pulleys (88,89,90,91) to the weight carrying bar (84) for facilitating exercising of arm, shoulder, chest and back muscles.
