WALKING DEVICE WITH PICK UP MECHANISM
An improved walking device is disclosed wherein the device comprises an elongated body, a movable arm coupled to the elongated body, a power source connector, a first sensor, a releaser, a first spring, wherein the first sensor is capable of detecting an orientation of the device and producing an electronic signal based on the orientation, wherein the electronic signal is capable of at least partially causing a movement of the releaser, wherein the releaser is capable of nudging the movable arm away from a resting position, and wherein the first spring is capable of causing the movable arm to rotate to a deployed position.
Walker attachment for wheelchairs
A walker adapted for attachment to a wheelchair may be used to assist a user with walking while retaining the wheelchair in close proximity behind the user for use when the user needs to sit. The walker may be removably attached to the frame of the wheelchair for easy exchange of use from one wheelchair to another. A pivotable, removably attachable gate between two lateral frame members may allow for the walker to be manipulated from a walking position to a stored position. The gate may include an extendable width to allow for use with wheelchairs of different widths. A frame of the walker may be extendably attached to the wheelchair, thereby allowing the user to extend and retract the walker between the walking position and the stored position.
Crutch Container
A crutch container includes a container housing having a rear wall opposite a front wall and a pair of lateral sidewalls extending therebetween. The container housing includes an open upper end opposite a closed lower end defining an interior volume. A height of the rear wall is greater than a height of the front wall and the pair of lateral sidewalls defining an upper panel. A strap is affixed to a rear surface of the rear wall along the upper panel, wherein each of a first end and a second end of the strap are removably securable to a front surface of the rear wall along the upper panel. A wedge extends from the rear surface of the rear wall adjacent to the closed lower end, wherein the wedge frictionally engages between a pair of inwardly tapering posts of a crutch.
Convertible wheelchair
A convertible wheelchair is provided. The convertible wheelchair can have a wheelchair configuration and a walker configuration to allow a user to alternately sit and stand, and can include a frame supporting a chair. The chair can be foldable and can include a chair back and a chair seat. The convertible wheelchair can include support and stability mechanisms accessible in the wheelchair configuration and the walker configuration including one or more torso supports, a fall seat, and stability bars.
Mobility system including an exoskeleton assembly releasably supported on a wheeled base
A mobility system includes a wheeled base, an exoskeleton assembly, and a docking assembly arranged to support the exoskeleton assembly on the wheeled base. The exoskeleton assembly has an upper torso portion, upper leg portions pivotal relative to the torso portion and lower leg portions pivotal relative to respective ones of the upper leg portions. The docking assembly is operable to couple the exoskeleton assembly to the wheeled base in a sitting position. The seating surface in the sitting position and the position control motors for operating the exoskeleton from sitting to standing are all separable from the wheeled base together with the exoskeleton assembly. Alternatively, extensible links may dock the standing exoskeleton to the wheeled base so that the base can trail the exoskeleton through a walking motion.
Multi-functional foot crutch
A crutch (102) for supporting a leg of a user is described. The crutch comprises a handle (112), a base portion (116) having plurality of legs (114) that define a footprint when contacting the ground, and a main rod (123) connecting the handle and the base portion. The base portion (116) is moveable to alter the length of the crutch (102) from a first configuration to a second configuration, and wherein in the first configuration the handle (112) is positioned at a first distance from the base portion (116) for gripping by an ambulatory user and in the second configuration the handle (112) is positioned at a second, shorter, distance from the base portion (116) for resting a foot of a sitting user; and wherein the base portion (116) provides a smaller footprint in the first configuration than in the second configuration.
Self-righting cane
A self-righting cane is provided that includes a handle portion having a grip and a collar. A shaft extends from the handle portion and is joined to the handle portion at the collar. A base supporting portion includes a weight disposed within the base supporting portion. The weight has an aperture such that the shaft connecting to the base supporting portion through the aperture. The weight disposed within the base supporting portion self-rights the cane and prevents the cane from falling over.
Crutches and Sitting Device
The New Design for Crutches and Sitting Device is an improvement of the basic crutch to provide needed support to ameliorate potential injuries and improve ambulation for persons suffering from injured lower limbs, lumbar region or other injuries and who frequently required using crutches for mobility. However, crutches require more energy from the user than merely walking, and frequently, a crutch user may require rest. Prior crutch systems have not provided a convenient way to provide the user with such rest. The current invention fulfills two functions: (i) providing improved walking aid for those recovering from orthopedic surgery of the spine and lower extremities—as well as those who suffer from permanent disability from the spine and lower limbs; and (ii) improved sitting aid for those recovering from orthopedic surgery of the spine and lower extremities—as well as those who suffer from permanent disability of the spine and lower limbs.
CRUTCH AUXILIARY CARRYING DEVICE AND KIT
An auxiliary carrying device for crutches comprises: a clip including a base having a surface shaped to conform to a crutch rail, (i) an aperture through the base for receiving a connector to connect to the crutch via a hole in the rail of the crutch or (ii) a stud extending from the base for insertion through the hole in the rail of the crutch, and two arms extending outward from the base, the arms configured to secure a holder; and wherein the holder includes a bottom, at least one side and an interior cavity, the holder including an inflatable body such that the at least one side is compressible and expandable to conform to objects inserted into the interior cavity.
WALKING AID WITH FOLD-OUT SUPPORT LEGS FOR SITTING DOWN
A walking aid for taking up a deployment supported force for supporting a person using the walking aid, comprising a support upper part for engaging around the person, a shaft and a support foot arranged at a lower end of the shaft and having multiple swivelable support legs which can be moved between a storage position in which they are folded out from one another at a predefined angle and the walking aid can be set down on the ground, and a use position in which the support legs are folded together and arranged next to one another and the walking aid can be used, characterized in that the support legs are swivelably retained at a lower end of the shaft, and in that they are designed for taking up the deployment supported force in the use position.
