System and method for dynamic device discovery and address assignment

A pool or spa system includes networked pool or spa devices that can be dynamically configured with network address by a controller. The controller can transmit a device discovery request on a network and can receive a discovery response from pool or spa devices that require a network address. The system determines and assigns the network addresses for the pool or spa devices based on unique device identifiers associated with the responding pool or spa devices. The network addresses assigned to the pool or spa device are transmitted to the pool or spa device to be used by the pool or spa devices to communicate with the controller over the network. The system can be used to discover and assign addresses to various types of pool or spa devices, such as pumps, underwater lights, chlorinators, water feature controllers, remote controllers, and/or other types of devices.

The apparatuses and methods of making and using the same are directed to bathing apparatus to support an object while bathing the object with a fluid. The bathing apparatus may comprise a support assembly constituting a support structure of the apparatus; a support surface to support the object, the support surface supported by the support portion; and a fluid catch disposed on at least three sides of the support surface, the fluid catch serving as a basin for the fluid in such manner to contain the fluid separate from the support surface. The bathing apparatus may be used in combination with a support wall that includes a plurality of channels to hold household items.

Modular sauna heater and method for constructing a sauna

Modular infrared heater units for a sauna and methods for constructing a sauna. The infrared heater units include one or more heating elements disposed in a housing. The housing is configured for direct mounting on walls of a structure and includes a pigtail for coupling to a controller. The housing is dimensioned to accommodate a paneling or other cladding on the walls and includes a trim frame that obscures edges of the cladding adjacent to the heater unit. Construction of a sauna unit includes mounting of a plurality of the heater units on walls of the structure; electrically communicably coupling the heater units to a controller; and providing any desired cladding to the interior of the structure.

A housing for a spa-side controller is disclosed, including a base having a top side and a bottom side. An aperture is positioned on the bottom side to permit the access of a controller to an electrical circuitry in electrical communication with a spa. A lid is pivotally engaged with the top side of the base, the lid permitting selective access to the controller.

Modulating Pool or Spa Heater Systems and Associated Methods
20220390924 · 2022-12-08 · ·

A modulating heater system for a pool or spa includes a pool or spa heater capable of variably modulating energy output thereof and a controller communicatively coupled thereto. The controller determines a predicted load based on a previous load, ambient and water temperatures, and estimated pool/spa size, and determines an overshoot setpoint for an operational mode. The controller establishes a target temperature setpoint for the mode and receives a current water temperature. The controller determines whether the overshoot setpoint plus target temperature setpoint is greater than the current water temperature, and determines an error based thereon. The controller determines if the error is less than or greater than a target for the mode, and, based on this determination, determines a heater modulation rate for the mode taking into account the mode, maximum heater output, and available fuel supply. The controller controls the heater to operate at the determined modulation rate.
