DEVICES AND METHODS FOR A VIAL ADAPTER ASSEMBLY

A vial adapter assembly that includes a housing, a first receptacle formed within the housing and configured to receive a first vial within the housing, and a second receptacle formed within the housing and configured to receive a second vial within the housing. An opening of the first receptacle and an opening of the second receptacle is in fluid communication with the upper surface of the housing. The vial adapter assembly includes a cap that is coupled and movable relative to the housing from a closed configuration to an open configuration. In the closed configuration, the cap is configured to cover the opening of the first receptacle and the opening of the second receptacle on the upper surface. In the open configuration, the cap is configured to uncover the opening of the first receptacle and the opening of the second receptacle, and expose the upper surface.

Devices for accessing medicinal fluid from a container

In certain embodiments, a vial adaptor for removing liquid contents from a vial comprises a piercing member and a bag. The bag can be contained within the piercing member such that the bag is introduced to the vial when the vial adaptor is coupled with the vial. In some embodiments, the bag expands within the vial as liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, thereby regulating pressure within the vial. In other embodiments, a vial comprises a bag for regulating pressure within the vial as liquid is removed therefrom. In some embodiments, a vial adaptor is coupled with the vial in order to remove the liquid. In some embodiments, as the liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, the bag expands within the vial, and in other embodiments, the bag contracts within the vial.

System for closed transfer of fluids

A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.

Adapter for vial access device

A system includes a vial access device including a spike, with the vial access device attachable to a first vial defining a first vial size, and an adapter transitionable between a shield position in which the adapter is attachable to the vial access device such that the adapter shields the spike of the vial access device and a vial position in which the adapter is attachable to a second vial defining a second vial size, the second vial size different than the first vial size.

A septum holder having a body. The body has a disk shaped annular upper body part and a lower body part, at least one resilient elongated arm terminating with a distal enlarged element attached to the side of the body, and a septum fitted into the lower body part so that it extends downward parallel to the at least one arm. The septum is made of a single piece of cylindrically shaped resilient material. The upper part of the septum has a diameter larger than the middle part of the septum in order to form a flange that rests on an annular ledge created around the inside of the bottom section of the body when the middle part of septum slides through the open center at the bottom of the bottom section. The lowest part of the septum has a diameter that matches that of a septum in a fluid transfer component. The septum has a cavity created in its middle part into which an insert having at least one bore that functions as the seat of a needle valve is inserted.

Drug transfer adapter

A drug transfer adapter includes a body having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, a transfer spike extending from the body and defining an opening, with the transfer spike configured to pierce a closure of a container, a connector extending from the body, and a securing member extending from the body. The securing member has a first side and a second side positioned opposite the first side, with the first side of the securing member including an adhesive surface configured to secure the body to a container.

Vial adapter for drawing drugs from a vial

A vial adapter for reconstituting a drug and drawing a drug from a vial. The vial adapter includes a passageway for passage of a diluent into the vial to mix with and reconstitute the drug and a chamber containing the reconstituted drug drawn from the vial. A vacuum is applied through the adapter to draw the reconstituted drug from the vial. The reconstituted drug can be accessed in one or two ways, either via a luer locked syringe or via a needled syringe.

TRAY FOR POSITIONING A MEDICAL VIAL TOGETHER WITH A VIAL ADAPTER IN A FIXED POSITIONAL RELATIONSHIP RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER AND PACKAGING UNIT COMPRISING THE SAME

A tray for positioning, in a fixed positional relationship, a medical vial 7 together with a vial adapter 4 is disclosed. A tray member 10 includes a vial accommodation cavity 11 and a vial adapter accommodation cavity 12, each comprises retaining members 19, 37a, 37b, 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b configured to position the vial adapter 4 and the vial 7 spaced apart from each other and in axial alignment in an intermediate position. The retaining members 19, 37a, 37b, 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b are further configured to guide a relative axial movement of the vial 7 and vial adapter 4 from the intermediate position to a transfer position while maintaining the axial alignment of the vial 7 with the vial adapter 4. In the transfer position the vial adapter 4 is locked to the vial 7 and a piercing mandrel 57 pierces a vial stopper 76 for liquid transfer.

Integrated cap and seal system

A cap and seal system for a liquid medicament container. The system comprises a cap formed from a substantially rigid material, and has a retention component integrally formed therewith. A seal is formed from a material which is less hard than the cap and positioned within the cap such that, when the retaining component retains the cap on a container in use the seal is positioned such that it forms a fluid tight seal between the cap and the container. A recess is formed in the seal through which a liquid outlet channel can pass in use to access the contents of the container via the cap and the seal.
