Intravenous “Y” shaped (yaseen) adapter
11547630 · 2023-01-10 ·

An IV adapter to allow for the mixing of multiple compatible medications with one another using a single bag of intravenous fluid. The IV adapter has multiple arms extending which gives rise to the ability to mix multiple medications. There is a spike within each arm to puncture the medication. The plurality of arms have built in mechanisms to control the flow of the medication and stop it from flowing in a certain direction. There are connections at the end of each arm allowing for a tight seal to be made to prevent any medication from leaking out of the IV line.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING CLOGGING OF A DELIVERY SYSTEM

A system suitable for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site may include a container for holding a therapeutic agent, a pressure source having pressurized fluid, where the pressure source is in selective fluid communication with at least a portion of the container, a catheter in selective fluid communication with the container and configured for delivery of the therapeutic agent to a target site, a first valve connected between the container and the catheter, a second valve connected between the pressure source and the container, a button configured to selectively actuate the second valve, and a brake assembly coupled to the first valve and configured to selectively permit actuation of the second valve, such that when the first valve is in a first state, the brake assembly blocks the button such that the button does not actuate the second valve.

Vial adapter for drawing drugs from a vial

A vial adapter for reconstituting a drug and drawing a drug from a vial. The vial adapter includes a passageway for passage of a diluent into the vial to mix with and reconstitute the drug and a chamber containing the reconstituted drug drawn from the vial. A vacuum is applied through the adapter to draw the reconstituted drug from the vial. The reconstituted drug can be accessed in one or two ways, either via a luer locked syringe or via a needled syringe.

ALTERNATIVE FLUIDIC PATHING FOR SERIALLY CONNECTABLE DRUG MODULES

Various embodiments are disclosed herein related to fluidic connections for modules useable in combinatorial drug delivery devices. The fluidic connections allow for variable flow paths to be defined for serially-connected, and base-tray mounted, modules.

DEVICE FOR THE PRIMING OF AN EXTRACORPOREAL CIRCUIT

A device comprising a bag made of flexible material and defining a containment volume of a liquid; at least a first duct associated with the bag and provided with a first transit port placed inside the containment volume for the introduction of an operating liquid inside it; at least a second duct associated with the bag and provided with a second transit port placed inside the containment volume for the outflow of the operating liquid to the outside; at least a third duct associated with the bag and provided with a third transit port placed inside the containment volume for the reintroduction of the operating liquid inside it; and at least a fourth duct associated with the bag and provided with a fourth transit port placed inside the containment volume for the outflow to the outside of the air present in the containment volume itself and in the operating liquid.

PISTON VALVING FOR SERIALLY CONNECTABLE DRUG MODULES OF A COMBINATORIAL DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

A valving arrangement is provided herein for regulating fluidics of modules usable in a combinatorial drug delivery device. The valving includes a slidable piston valve, adjustable to selectively seal an outlet path from a drug vial and a sealing port, in parallel to a vent, for selectively sealing an inlet path to the drug vial. Advantageously, the subject invention allows for applied negative pressure to adjust the valving to allow flow between serially-connected modules forming a drug delivery device.

LIQUID TRANSFER DEVICE WITH DUAL LUMEN IV SPIKE
20230052165 · 2023-02-16 ·

A liquid transfer device includes a vial adapter that receives a vial. The vial adapter includes a vial spike that punctures a vial stopper of the vial and defines a vial spike lumen. The liquid transfer device also includes an intravenous (IV) port that receives a port spike of an infusion set. The liquid transfer device also includes a connector body including a vial adapter lumen in fluid communication with the vial spike lumen, a barrel connected to the IV port, and an IV spike including a central wall. The central wall defines a first IV spike lumen in fluid communication with the vial adapter lumen and a second IV spike lumen in fluid communication with the IV port. The first IV spike lumen and the second IV spike lumen are separated by the central wall.

Reconstitution vial mixing apparatus

A medicinal vial reconstitution and IV dispensing device includes a bifurcated receptacle adapted to engage a medicinal vial, and a valve or barrier for selectively opening and closing the medicinal vial from fluidic communication with the patient IV line. The reconstitution device mixes medication with saline solution from an IV bag through a dedicated channel. The reconstitution device receives a medication vial containing the powdered medication. The reconstituted medication is then passed back into the IV bag for uniform mixing. A flow control element ensures fluid flow only from the vial to the bag. Once mixed, the reconstituted medication achieves a desired concentration in the IV bag. The (now medicated) saline solution in the IV bag is dispensed back through the reconstitution device via an IV line to the patient, and the flow control element redirects fluid only to the IV line and prevents any backflow with the vial.

COMBINATORIAL DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

In one aspect, a combinatorial drug delivery device is provided for delivering a predetermined selection of drug components. The device includes a plurality of modules, each including: a body having an interior volume; a spike plate movably disposed in the interior volume, the spike plate having a protruding cannula and first and second ports. The device also includes a base tray which includes: a framework defining a plurality of wells, each of the wells formed to insertingly receive one of the modules; for each of the wells, first and second inlet ports formed to interface with the first and second ports of the module being received in the respective well; passageways to connect certain wells with adjacent wells to permit fluid flow therebetween. For each of the wells, the spike plate of the respective module being maintained in a stationary position with the module being inserted into the well.
