Quick release connection for enteral feeding tube

An enteral feeding tubing connector comprises a body, a bore extending through the body, and a collet slidably disposed in the bore at a first end of the body. The collet is dimensioned to receive and engage a portion of tubing inserted into the collet, and is configured to resist withdrawal of the tubing from the bore and body upon application of force to the tubing that moves the collet out of the bore. A lock is provided on the first end of the body, and is configured to selectively engage the collet and prevent movement of the collet outward relative to the body. A tubing connection is provided at a second, opposite end of the body, the tubing connection providing fluid communication between another portion of tubing, the bore extending through the body, and the portion of tubing inserted into the collet.

Connector for a Gastrostomy Device
20230000725 · 2023-01-05 ·

A connector for coupling an enteral feeding solution supply tube to a port of a gastrostomy device, comprising a fluid conduit having an upstream end and a downstream end; and a nozzle housing a first portion of the fluid conduit at the downstream end configured to be connectable to an orifice defined in the port of the gastrostomy device. The nozzle has a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween. An external diameter of the nozzle at or adjacent the distal end is substantially equal to an external diameter of the nozzle at or adjacent the proximal end. An external surface of the nozzle includes one or more indentations. The invention also relates to a feeding extension set including a connector and an enteral feeding solution supply tube.

Connector for a gastrostomy device

A connector for rotatably coupling an enteral feeding solution supply tube to a circular port of a gastrostomy device wherein the connector comprises a fluid conduit having a first end configured for connection with an orifice defined in the circular port to supply the enteral feeding solution to the gastrostomy device, and a second end configured for connection to the enteral feeding solution supply tube, a pair of arms circumferentially arranged around an outer wall of the first end of the fluid conduit, each arm including a first free end and a second free end, wherein the second free end includes a catch configured to releasably engage with a circumferential rim on the circular port, and a flexible bridge connecting each arm to the first end of the fluid conduit and about which the first and second ends of each arm can be pivoted, wherein the connector is couplable to and decouplable from the circular port by pivoting the first and second ends of each arm at the flexible bridge such that the catch on the second free end of each arm is radially displaced into engagement or out of engagement with the rim.

Feeding tube with electromagnetic sensor

There is provided feeding tubes including an electromagnetic sensor including a sensor body comprising a core positioned at a distal end of the sensor lumen, and a wire extending along the length of the feeding tube, wherein an RF induced heating of the feeding tube in an MRI environment is below 5 degrees.

Enteral Nutrition Gastronomy Access Device

The present invention is an enteral nutrition gastrostomy access device. A permanent or semi-permanent stoma liner is adjustably positioned within a stoma channel extending through a patient's abdominal and stomach walls. The stoma liner is characterized by an adjustable bladder capable of applying variable torsional force to one or more pinch points along the interface between the stoma liner and the stoma. The stoma liner is configured to receive a plug with a central threaded channel, into which a cap or enteral feeding device may be wholly or partially inserted. The central threaded channel is characterized by requiring application of a linear push force to apply but requiring application of both a linear pull force and a torsional force to remove.

Apparatus and method for continuous monitoring of gastric content volume
11523974 · 2022-12-13 ·

A method and apparatus for determining gastric content volume. The internal temperature of the contents of the stomach is measured at least one predetermined time t after the patient is fed, and the gastric volume determined from the temperature. In preferred embodiments, a known volume of water at a known temperature is injected into the stomach, and the temperature of the stomach contents is measured after the stomach temperature has stabilized. An apparatus for performing the method, in which continuous measurement is possible without disturbing the patient's feeding schedule, and a method for using the inventive method in the control of an automatic feeding apparatus, are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for biofilm inoculation

Devices, systems, and methods for inserting a medical device, such as a gastrostomy tube, are described. For example, a device includes a housing defining an outer surface, a first end, and a second end, the housing comprising an inner passage that extends from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the outer surface defines an aperture in fluid communication with a portion of the inner passage, and a sensing device configured to cover the aperture, the sensing device configured to detect a property of fluid within the inner passage.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COAPTIVE ULTRASOUND GASTROSTOMY
20230047272 · 2023-02-16 · ·

Disclosed is a system and method for the placement of elongate medical members within a patients body using coaptive ultrasound. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a flexible tube includes a first balloon at a distal end of the tube, and a second balloon at the distal end of the tube and positioned within the first balloon. The first and second balloons are inflatable to form one or more echogenic windows between them, which echogenic window may be detected from within a patient's body by an ultrasound probe that is external to the patient's body. Detection of such echogenic window is used to identify an acceptable location on the patient's body at which to insert a guidewire configured to receive an elongate medical member without damage to surrounding patient tissues or organs.
