A pacifier is provided with an enlarged guard to rest against a premature baby's lips, and a nipple with a base, a narrow neck, and a bulbous tip. A hole is provided in the guard, and communicates with an open channel or pathway formed on the exterior surface of the nipple base. Milk drops from a syringe or other source can be introduced through the hole to the channel, and then flow into the baby's mouth. This introduction of milk along the pacifier into the premature infant's mouth helps the premature infant to learn sucking and swallowing, even while being fed through a nasal tube.

One or more biting elements of a teething system are cooled to below ambient temperature, while a handle of the teething system is left at ambient temperature. One of the biting elements is selected by the caregiver and is inserted into a receptacle in the handle. As assembled, a cooled teething surface on the biting element is exposed so that a baby may bite it, but at the same time the baby's hands are insulated by the handle from contacting the cooled biting element.

The disclosure is the only product of its kind that takes the standard concept of a teething device and modifies it to adequately cater to the oral development and motor skills of all infants The disclosure is uniquely designed to adapt to the hands of infants and to feature colors attractive to young children to help promote long term use. The disclosed teething ring device for an oral development of a child therefore includes a hub comprising a weighted ring, some teething spokes fixed outwardly from the hub and some in a hinged relation to the hub and an attachment loop emanating from the hub for a pacifier clip.

A teat for a milk bottle is provided. The teat comprises an attachment portion for attaching the teat to a milk bottle. A breast portion of the teat extends from the attachment portion, the breast portion including a compressible material. A nipple portion of the teat extends from the breast portion. The nipple portion is narrower than the breast portion and includes an outlet. A milk-flow pathway extends through the breast portion, the compressible material and the nipple portion for the passage of milk from a milk bottle attached to the attachment portion to the outlet. The breast portion includes a flexible skin fully enclosing the compressible material, the flexible skin separating the compressible material from the milk-flow pathway.
