A retractable clip that includes a clip portion for releasably attaching a pacifier to the clip portion, and a plurality of flexible arms extending from the clip portion, with the flexible arms being configured to non-releasably attach to a toy, wherein each of the plurality of flexible arms is configured to retain the clip portion in a retracted position relative to the toy and is further configured to flex so as to extend the clip portion relative to the toy upon application of a force.

A feeding assistance device and method for making same is disclosed. The feeding assistance device comprises a band and an amusement device secured to the band. The band comprises an external portion, an internal portion, and a securing platform. The amusement device comprises an upper end, a lower end, and a lowermost part located on the lower end of the amusement device. The band secures the feeding assistance device to a feeding device, such as a bottle, sippy cup, variation thereof, or combination thereof. The amusement device can be a plush toy, head of an animal, or other toy.

A pacifying personal protective device for a child includes a panel, which is attachable to a head of a child so that the panel is positioned over at least a mouth and a nose of the child. The panel reduces transmission of pathogens between the child and persons proximate to the child. A pacifying element is engaged to the panel and is positioned proximate to the mouth of the child. The pacifying element facilitates pacification of the child, thus increasing a likelihood that the panel will remain in position on the head of the child.

A pacifier retention device comprising a tether having a proximal end and a distal end, a housing, a spool with channeled surface, spiral spring, and fasteners attached to the ends of the tether. The proximal and distal ends of the tether are connected to a clothing clip and a loop, respectively. The clip is attached to a piece of clothing while the loop is intertwined with a pacifier, the tether being under constant or configurable tension to prevent unwanted travel of the pacifier when not in use.

A pacifier-securing device includes a spring clamp to hold a pacifier and a gooseneck arm connected to the spring clamp. The spring clamp includes a first arm and a second arm separated by a gap in a longitudinal direction between the first arm and the second arm, such that a mouth shield of the pacifier is held in place by a force exerted by the spring clamp in a transverse direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. A handle of the pacifier protrudes from the spring clamp along the transverse direction, and an elongated teat of the pacifier protrudes from the spring clamp in the transverse direction opposite the handle. The gooseneck arm holds the spring clamp in a substantially fixed configuration under a weight of the pacifier.

A method for occupying a toddler may include providing a flexible mat; affixing the flexible mat to a vertical surface; providing an elongated tether; affixing the elongated tether to at least one of the vertical surface and the flexible mat; coupling an object to the elongated tether. In some embodiments, the elongated tether has an anchor end and a retention end. The retention end may have one or more retention apertures, each characterized by a retention-aperture diameter, and a retention terminus characterized by a retention diameter being greater than the retention-aperture diameter. Coupling an object to the elongated tether may include disposing the retention end around or through the object and disposing the retention terminus through one of the one or more retention apertures to form a compression fit.

An infant's headgear having a tether is provided for retaining a pacifier. The present invention prevents the pacifier from dropping to the ground and becoming dirty or lost when it falls out of the infant's mouth. The headgear is attached to a keeper which anchors a fastening member that releasably connects to a first end of the tether. An opposite second end of the tether is adapted to releasably connect to the pacifier. The positioning of the tether makes it easy for an infant to find a pacifier hanging from the headgear so that the infant can readily reach out and grasp the it on their own and place it back in his or her mouth without relying on the help of a caregiver.

A new and alternative way to use a baby pacifier clip without using a metal or plastic at the base. Often, the metal or plastic clips distract the child from the intended use of the clip, the pacifier or teething toy at the other end. The soft band doesn't distract from the main use of the invention. The band is a constructed of elastic and soft fabric with a reinforced hole in the center. A means to attach a pacifier or teething toy to any sort of carrier to stay with the baby.
