SMART MEDICATION CONTAINER
Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for monitoring adherence to a medication regimen through the use of a smart medication container. The container can include an electronic display that presents relevant information, such as dosage and/or medication information, instructions, user information, messages, notifications, and device information (e.g., battery status, network connectivity status). A pair of conductive elements positioned on either side of the container's opening can be configured to continually measure capacitance in order to identify when contents (e.g., pills) leave the container. More than one pair of conductive elements may be used to improve accuracy and reduce the effects of noise. A processor is able to analyze the capacitance data and determine whether medication has been dispensed from the container and, if so, how much medication was dispensed. A computer system can then compare the results to a planned medication regimen to determine a state of compliance.
Medical gel warming systems and methods
A warming device and system for warming medical gel to a comfortable temperature prior to application to a patient. A warming chamber configured to receive one or more gel containers (e.g., packets or bottles) disposed in a horizontal orientation with a cover sealing the chamber. Multiple protrusions and/or depressions disposed on an inside surface of the chamber can be used to soften thermal conduction of heat to the gel containers and inhibit hot spots. A flexible heating element and an intermediate thermal conducting member can extend up one or more sides of the warming chamber. Multiple buttons can be used to set different gel temperature settings.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLUID DELIVERY MANIFOLDS
A fluid delivery manifold system assembled and configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient. The delivery assembly generally includes a modular manifold design consisting of separately constructed components cooperatively arranged and coupled to one another. The modular manifold construction allows for rapid manufacturing reconfigurations of one or more components with minimal costs to create new delivery manifold configurations that meet specific needs (i.e., different modes of delivery depending on agent to be delivered, such as subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous injection, spray, or droplet delivery).
DEVICE FOR CHILLING INSULIN IN A TRAVEL MUG
A device for use with a travel mug for storing and chilling at least one vial is disclosed. The device generally comprises at least a first cylindrical portion having a top end and a bottom end, wherein the top end comprises at least one recessed portion for storing the at least one vial and a second cylindrical portion having a top end and a bottom end. In one embodiment, the device comprises a rod having a first end connected to the bottom end of the first cylindrical portion, and a second end connected to the top end of the second cylindrical portion.
Methods for manufacturing capsules with ingestible event markers
Various methods and apparatuses are presented for an ingestible capsule that includes a digital, ingestible sensor component—or ingestible sensor—embedded into the capsule. The ingestible sensor component may be configured to activate upon coming into contact with conductive fluid, such as a body's stomach fluid. Once activated, the ingestible sensor component may be configured to perform various tasks, such as transmitting one or more signals and obtaining biometric data about the body that ingested the capsule.
Apparatus and method for continuous monitoring of gastric content volume
A method and apparatus for determining gastric content volume. The internal temperature of the contents of the stomach is measured at least one predetermined time t after the patient is fed, and the gastric volume determined from the temperature. In preferred embodiments, a known volume of water at a known temperature is injected into the stomach, and the temperature of the stomach contents is measured after the stomach temperature has stabilized. An apparatus for performing the method, in which continuous measurement is possible without disturbing the patient's feeding schedule, and a method for using the inventive method in the control of an automatic feeding apparatus, are also disclosed.
COMPLIANCE SYSTEM AND SMART PACKAGE SYSTEM FOR DYNAMICALLY DISPLAYING USE CONDITIONS
There is provided a system for monitoring a package. The system comprises a scanning device and a dynamic display connected to the package and comprising a display. The scanning device scans the dynamic display and sends the scanned results to a server, which processes the results and sends the scanning device an update for the dynamic display. The scanning device then sends the update to the dynamic display and the dynamic display changes the display to show the update. There is also provided a system for monitoring compliance of a user with health related activities, assisting a user with compliance, encouraging a user to comply and detecting compliance.
AUTOMATED SYRINGE FILLING AND MEASURING SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USING SAME
Methods and devices are provided precision filling of medical syringes. Generally, the methods and devices are designed to determine and measure dosages and fill a syringe with a precise amount from a medication vial and to store or transmit to a medical records storage system data associated with the process. In one embodiment, the fill apparatus weighs, photographs and stores information on a syringe and medicine vial, fills the syringe from the vial and confirms transfer of the medicine to the syringe from the vial.
