Pharmacy assembly machine and packaging for customised polypills, and customised antipsychotic combinations for improved compliance
Customised polypills may be produced in the pharmacy from two or more drug packages using an assembly machine. Each drug package may comprise an array of cells containing individual doses of a single drug. The individual doses may be combined within the cells of the packages to produce an end user package with an array of cells containing the combined drugs in the form of individual polypills, which may be formed as capsules or pastilles. Label indicia of the drug packages may be combined together to form a composite label of the end user package. Serialization data may be read from the packages during assembly and sent to a remote server for authentication and supply chain management. In another aspect, patients who have a history of poor compliance with a prescribed oral antipsychotic while periodically seeking symptomatic relief from another prescribed psychoactive, are provided with both medicaments in the form of polypills to be taken in place of the solo antipsychotic when the patient is in crisis. Providing the preferred psychoactive as a combination motivates the patient to resume their antipsychotic therapy when symptoms return, which may result in better compliance and more effective management of psychosis in the community.
VISCOUS LIQUID SUPPLY APPARATUS
A viscous liquid supply apparatus includes a storage tank (10) that stores viscous liquid, and a pump (14) that supplies the viscous liquid stored in the storage tank to a use point, wherein the viscous liquid supply apparatus is configured with a viscometer (20) that measures a viscosity of the viscous liquid stored in the storage tank, and a replenishment device (30) that supplies replenishment liquid to the storage tank based on the viscosity measured with the viscometer. The viscometer (20) is a rotary type viscometer that has a rotor (23) in a cylindrical shape wherein the rotor is immersed in the viscous liquid and rotates therein, and the rotor is configured with a stirring blade that agitates the viscous liquid inside the storage tank (10).

Ingestible devices can directly deliver therapeutic agents to desired tissue(s) of the GI tract of a subject, such as the submucosa, the mucosa, and/or the mucus layer of the GI tract, and methods of using the same. The ingestible devices can deliver therapeutic agents in a safe, effective, and reliable manner. The disclosure also provides pharmaceutical compositions for use in methods of treating a disease or condition in a subject in need thereof.
Modular System and Method for Producing Dosage-Form Bulk Material
A modular system for producing dosage-form bulk material in the form of dosage-form base materials or dosage forms. The system includes at least one processing unit (2) which includes a plurality of process stations, at least one container for receiving dosage-form bulk material, and at least one handling system, the at least one handling system transferring the containers between process stations. Also described is a method for producing dosage-form bulk material.
FILLING MACHINE FOR FILLING CAPSULES
A filling machine for filling capsules with at least one product includes operating stations for operating on the capsules, and a moving system for transferring the capsules through the operating stations that include first and second dosing stations that are configured to fill the capsules with respective products. The moving system includes a linear electric motor, a guide rail, which includes a stator of the motor, and transfer carriages associated with the guide rail and provided with respective seats to house bodies and caps of the capsules. The transfer carriages have respective rotors of the motor interacting independently with respective magnetic fields generated by the stator to move the respective transfer carriages along the guide rail with an intermittent motion at the first dosing station when the first dosing station is activated and/or with a continuous motion at the second dosing station when the second dosing station is activate.
CAPSULE WITH REDUCED POWDER LEAKAGE
The present invention relates to a capsule shell with two parts, a cap and a body, the two parts engage telescopically with each other, the capsule shell is used for storing solid substances in powder or granular form and shows a minimized leakage rate of powder when the capsule shell is filled with the solid substances in powder form and is closed.
SELF-RIGHTING SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND RELATED COMPONENTS
Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent. In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component may comprise and/or be associated with the pharmaceutical agent.
TRANSFER DEVICE FOR A CAPSULE AND CAPSULE FILLING MACHINE HAVING A TRANSFER DEVICE
The disclosure relates to a transfer device of a capsule filling machine for transferring at least one capsule from a capsule receptacle of a capsule segment to a downstream process station, and to a capsule filling machine having such a transfer device. The transfer device includes a transport segment having at least one transport receptacle, which extends along a vertical longitudinal axis, wherein the transport receptacle is configured as a clamping receptacle having a clamping element, acting radially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the transport receptacle, for the capsule.
Long acting gastric residence system
The present disclosure is in the field of gastroretentive dosage forms. A gastroretentive dosage form for extended retention in a stomach is provided.
Multiple-fill/chamber softgel die
The invention provides a die suitable for producing a multi-chamber softgel capsule. The die comprises a die pocket defined by a die pocket wall and a bottom surface. The die comprises one or more partitioning walls dividing the die pocket into two or more chambers The top of the land of the partitioning walls have a lowest point that is lower than the plane formed by the top of the land along the perimeter of the die pocket wall by a gap. A die roll comprising a plurality of the dies is also provided, as well as rotary-die encapsulation machine comprising the die roll.
