The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical formulation suitable for use in a straw suitable for oral administration of said pharmaceutical formulation, wherein the pharmaceutical formulation is a granular solid comprising a core, an optional first coating layer, and a second coating layer. The present invention also relates to a straw suitable for oral administration of such a pharmaceutical formulation, the use of said pharmaceutical formulation in the treatment of a condition in a subject in need thereof, and a method for preparing said pharmaceutical composition.

Improved Drinking Straws and Manufacturing Process

Provided are improved drinking straws comprising an integrated device providing an anti-outflow capability, methods for their use, and processes for their manufacture. Specifically, the drinking straw is formed substantially of a cellulosic material and wherein the drinking straw and the device providing the anti-outflow capability comprising a flexible flap having a fixed end affixed to an interior surface of a sidewall of the drinking straw, and a part of the flexible flap obscuring an inlet orifice passing through the sidewall adjacent to the flexible flap and forming a liquid tight seal when a reduced pressure condition exists within the interior flow passage of the drinking straw.

Drinking straw with piercing end

A drinking straw includes a generally elongate tube having a sidewall defining an internal bore, wherein one end of the straw is provided with a piercing projection formed from a portion of the sidewall and reinforced by a folded portion of the sidewall. The straw is manufactured from an elongate tube on which a piercing projection is formed at one end by folding a portion of the sidewall at that end to reinforce the projection.

Enhanced medicine cup with a sipping straw for use with a medicine bottle
09801790 · 2017-10-31 ·

An enhanced medicine cup for use with a medicine bottle is disclosed, the medicine cup having a sipping straw running along a sidewall of the cup, the straw enabling a person to easily sip medicine from the bottom of the cup. The sipping straw extends upward beyond the sidewall, having a first opening at it's top end, and extends downward along the sidewall, being sealed at it's bottom end, and having instead a second opening near its bottom end in its sidewall that is in fluid communication with the inside of the cup via a corresponding opening near the bottom of the cup. Retaining protrusions are provided around the inner surface of the sidewall of the cup that engage with a cooperative ridge on the outer surface of a cap or a neck of a medicine bottle so as to removably retain the enhanced medicine cup on the medicine bottle.

11160729 · 2021-11-02 ·

The dual spout pill storage and swallowing assist bottle device disclosed herein is intended to be carried by a user and provide a mobile source of fluids, as in the case of a fluid bottle. The device provides two distinct drinking spouts and is configured to allow a user to both drink from the bottle as normal and drink from the bottle in a way to assist the user with swallowing pills. To perform these dual functions the dual spout pill storage and swallowing assist bottle device comprises a standard drinking spout and a pill straw with a reversibly deployable spout incorporated into the lid of the device. By this design the device may be used to drink fluids without hindrance as desired, and to also facilitate a straw-assisted vacuum swallowing of a pill when needed. The device may further comprise a storage compartment for carrying pills and other items, and may further comprise a pill retaining insert for the standard spout.

DRUG ACCOMMODATING DEVICE OF SOLID ORAL FORMULATION, AND ORAL ADMINISTRATION AND DELIVERY APPARATUS COMPRISING SAME

A drug accommodating device of a solid oral formulation and an oral administration and delivery apparatus comprising same. The drug accommodating device comprises a filtering component and a supporting component; the filtering component and the supporting component cooperate with each other to form a space used for bearing drug particles or multiple pills; the filtering component has one or more pore channels allowing a liquid to pass; the pore channels are distributed in the filtering component in an up-down intricate intersection mode; alternatively, a water-soluble polymer material layer is provided on the filtering component. Alternatively, the drug accommodating device is a cylindrical structure with a top end being an opening and a bottom part being a screen mesh; the inner surface of the screen mesh is provided with the water-soluble polymer material layer; an inner cavity having the cylindrical structure above water-soluble polymer material layer is used for accommodating the drug particles or multiple pills. The drug accommodating device can overcome the problem that fluid resistance is large when the drug particles or multiple pills are leaked and sipped.

ORAL DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

Disclosed is an oral drug delivery device, comprising a tubular member, a drug holding part, a device cap and a turbulence-creating means. The tubular member has openings at both ends and an inner cavity; the opening at one end is a first opening and the opening at the other end is a second opening; the inner cavity communicates the first opening and the second opening. The turbulence-creating means comprises a step structure or a fold structure, and is disposed in the inner cavity and positioned between the second opening and the drug holding part. By using the oral drug delivery device of the present invention, turbulence can be generated during a normal sipping process, thereby providing ample mixing of drug-containing granules or multi-particulates with drinkable liquids. Moreover, the device is telescopic, which reduces the size and is convenient to carry.

Device for the dosed filling of a container with a filling material

A device for the dosed filling of a container with a filling material has a holding unit for holding the container and a filling unit by which a defined amount of filling material is withdrawn from a material store and transferred into the container. The filling unit has a dosing chamber. The dosing chamber is mounted displaceably alternately between a first position and in a second position. In its first position, the dosing chamber is in contact with the material store so that filling material can be transferred out of the material store into the dosing chamber. In its second position, the dosing chamber is situated above the container so that the filling material in the dosing chamber can be emptied into the container. The material store is in the form of a separate container and can be fastened detachably to the device by a fastening unit.
