Devices and methods for drug administration and mixing, and training of proper techniques therefor
A device for training users in a proper mixing of pharmaceutical components, or for aiding in the mixing, or for performing the mixing, and administration of pharmaceutical components is disclosed. The device comprises a housing for receiving a pharmaceutical delivery device containing the pharmaceutical components. There is also a microcontroller disposed in the housing and a motion/orientation detection device disposed within or on the housing and in communication with the microcontroller. A method for use of the device is also disclosed, along with a substance for use as one of the pharmaceutical components.
DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING AN ACTIVE PRINCIPLE BY THE ORAL MUCOSAL ROUTE
A device for administering an active principle via the oral mucous membrane, having an ampule (1) containing liquid, the ampule including an opening defining a peripheral axial edge (11) closed by a film (10); a syringe barrel (2) with a dispenser orifice; a piston (3) in the syringe barrel (2); a piston rod (4); and a connector (20) formed integrally with or fastened to the syringe barrel (2) and adapted to be connected in leaktight manner to the ampule. The connector includes a perforator (23) for perforating the film and connecting the inside of the ampule with the syringe barrel, the perforator forming the dispenser orifice while the active principle is dispensed. The connector includes an outer protective skirt (21) for creating a gum/cheek cavity while the liquid is deposited and includes an annular reception space (24) for receiving the peripheral axial edge of the ampule.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING EPILEPSY, SEIZURES AND OTHER CONDITIONS
Compositions are provided for the liquid oral administration of topiramate and its salts. The invention further provides methods for treating diseases and disorders using the compositions.
PACIFIER
A pacifier comprising a suction part and a housing part, wherein said suction part comprises a nipple and a shield connected to each other, wherein said suction part comprises a passageway through which a fluid can pass from outside a mouth of a user of the pacifier to inside the mouth of the user of the pacifier, and wherein said housing part comprises a housing, wherein said housing comprises a drug compartment which is prefilled with a drug which can pass through the passageway into the mouth of the user when the housing part is connected to said suction part, wherein said pacifier further comprises a drug collection cup which is positioned in the pacifier and configured for collecting drug released from the drug compartment before the drug is received by a user and wherein said drug collection cup comprises a valve which is configured to open up and let fluid pass when a user of the pacifier sucks on the nipple.
PACIFIER
A pacifier comprising a suction part and a housing part, wherein said suction part comprises a nipple and a shield connected to each other, wherein said suction part comprises a passageway through which a fluid can pass from outside a mouth of a user of the pacifier to inside the mouth of the user of the pacifier, and wherein said housing part comprises a housing, wherein said housing is prefilled with a drug which can pass through the passageway into the mouth of the user when the housing part is connected to said suction part and wherein said drug is a drug to be inhaled through the passageway of the suction part.
MEDICINE DISPENSING SYSTEM HAVING STAIR-STEP DOSING INDICATORS
A medicine dispensing device, configured to contain a liquid medicine to be dispensed by the medicine dispensing device and having a plurality of dosing indicia spaced apart from each other around and in relation to a circumference of a surface of the medicine dispensing device, each dosing indicia being of a different height relative to a reference level and corresponding to different dose of the liquid medicine.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING ACTIVE INGREDIENT-CONTAINING OR ACTIVE INGREDIENT-CARRYING STRIPS
A device for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying strips, including a housing in which a coil chamber for receiving an active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying band is arranged, in which a gear transmission with a driven roller for conveying the band is mounted, and in which a separating device for separating the strips from the band is arranged. A method for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient carrying strips using such a device is also disclosed. An active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying band is arranged between the driven roller and the pressure roller. A shift clutch transmission having a manually actuatable trigger element is arranged upstream of the gear transmission. The driven roller can be driven in incremental strips by the shift clutch transmission. A device and method is disclosed for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying strips with a largely equal dosage are developed.
Dosing syringe
A dosing syringe comprising a barrel and a piston is provided. The piston is slidably receivable in the barrel and can move within the barrel from a maximum inserted position to a withdrawn position to draw a dose of a product into the barrel. The syringe comprises means for pre-setting the withdrawn position, which defines a maximum dose which can be drawn into the barrel.
Break-open single-dose packages
A break-open single-dose package includes a panel defining a frangible region, one or more sheets coupled to the panel and defining a pocket therebetween for storing a spreadable consumable, and an applicator. The frangible region is adapted to form an opening through which the spreadable consumable can exit in response to folding of the panel. The applicator includes a backing and a vessel extending from the backing. The vessel defines a channel for receiving any spreadable consumable that exits the pocket. The applicator is positioned adjacent to the frangible region for permitting a user to spread on a surface any spreadable consumable that exits the pocket using the applicator without requiring the user's hand(s) to contact the spreadable consumable. The backing is configured to move with the panel and separate from the vessel in response to folding of the panel. Other example packages and/or applicators are also disclosed.
Prefilled Medicated Pacifier
The present invention relates to an improved pacifier to provide a pre-measured medication or supplement to an infant without requiring teaspoons, medical cups, and more. The improved pacifier features a substantially transparent nipple which is prefilled, or selectively filled, with a liquid medication or supplement that allows an infant to suck the nipple to dispense the medication or supplement in their mouth. The nipple is releasably attached to a shield device through a central opening of the shield. The shield also inhibits the pacifier from falling out of the mouth and dropping on the ground. The nipples are color coded in different colors for indicating different medications. Pre-measured dosage marks are indicated on the nipple for indicating the quantity of the medication stored in the nipple.
