Treatment of Ascites
A method for treating ascites patients by administering the peptide drug terlipressin by continuous infusion. The patients include those whose ascites condition has not progressed to hepatorenal syndrome (HRS). Administration may be accomplished with a continuous infusion pump.
VASOPRESSIN FORMULATIONS FOR USE IN TREATMENT OF HYPOTENSION
Provided herein are peptide formulations comprising polymers as stabilizing agents. The peptide formulations can be more stable for prolonged periods of time at temperatures higher than room temperature when formulated with the polymers. The polymers used in the present invention can decrease the degradation of the constituent peptides of the peptide formulations.
ORALLY DISINTEGRATING SOLID PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE UNIT CONTAINING A PARTUS CONTROL SUBSTANCE
An orally disintegrating solid pharmaceutical dosage unit having a weight between 50 and 1,000 mg is disclosed. The dosage unit consists of: (a) 5-100 wt. % of coated particles comprising 50-99 wt. % of a core particle and 1-50 wt. % of a coating that envelops the core particle, said coating consisting of: 0.01-10 wt. % of a partus control substance selected from oxytocin, carbetocin, atosiban and combinations thereof; 5-50 wt. % of buffering agent; 15-80 wt. % of branched glucan; 0-78 wt. % of other pharmaceutically acceptable ingredients; and (b) 0-95 wt. % of one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients; the solid dosage unit comprising at least 20 μg of the partus control substance and having a pH buffer range of 3.5-5.7.
ORALLY DISINTEGRATING SOLID PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE UNIT CONTAINING A PARTUS CONTROL SUBSTANCE
The present invention provides an orally disintegrating solid pharmaceutical dosage unit having a weight between 50 and 1,000 mg, said dosage unit consisting of: 1-100 wt. % of particles consisting of: 0.01-10 wt. % of a partus control substance selected from oxytocin, carbetocin, atosiban and combinations thereof; 5-70 wt. % of buffering agent; 20-94 wt. % of branched glucan; 0-70 wt. % of other pharmaceutically acceptable ingredients; 0-95 wt. % of one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients; the solid dosage unit comprising at least 5 μg of the partus control substance and having a pH buffer range of 3.5-5.7. The solid dosage unit of the present invention is easy to manufacture and perfectly suited for sublingual, buccal or sublabial administration. Furthermore, the dosage unit does not need to be stored and distributed under temperature controlled conditions.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS FOR THE ORAL DELIVERY OF PEPTIDE OR PROTEIN DRUGS
The present invention relates to improved pharmaceutical formulations, uses and methods for the oral delivery of peptide or protein drugs with advantageously high bioavailability, safety and cost-effectiveness. In particular, the invention provides a peptide or protein drug having a molecular weight of equal to or less than about 50 kDa for use as a medicament, wherein said peptide or protein drug is to be administered orally in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable copper salt/complex and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable zinc salt/complex, and with a pharmaceutically acceptable reducing agent. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising: a peptide or protein drug having a molecular weight of equal to or less than about 50 kDa; a pharmaceutically acceptable copper salt/complex and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable zinc salt/complex; and a pharmaceutically acceptable reducing agent.

Method of Treating Prader-Willi Syndrome
This disclosure relates to a method of treating Prader-Willi Syndrome. The method includes administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a composition containing a selective oxytocin receptor agonist or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
Systems and Methods for Compounding Injectable Therapeutic Agents
Methods for compounding a therapeutic agent for intravenous administration. The method comprise providing a syringe or vial comprising the agent dissolved or pre-dissolved in a carrier at a dose or concentration that is therapeutically effective for a particular patient but is not commercially available at the therapeutically effective dose or concentration or is on the U.S. FDA drug shortage list, and adding the therapeutic agent dissolved in the carrier to an intravenous solution (diluent). The methods exclude reconstituting multiple solid forms of the commercially available agent and combining the reconstituted preparations together, for example, according to traditional compounding procedures at point-of-care pharmacies.
