The present invention relates to improved complexes of amorphous calcium phosphate and/or amorphous calcium fluoride phosphate stabilised by phosphopeptides/phosphoproteins by addition of stannous ions. These complexes have anticariogenic properties useful to protect tooth structures as they remineralize (repair) early stages of dental caries and have other dental/medical applications (including anti-calculus, anti-erosion/corrosion and anti-dentinal hypersensitivity). Methods of making the complexes of the invention and of treatment or prevention of various dental conditions including dental caries, dental calculus, dental erosion/corrosion and dental hypersensitivity are also provided.

DENTAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING A PARTICULATE CARRIER SUPPORTING A COINITIATOR

The present invention relates to a dental composition comprising a photoinitiator system comprising a particulate carrier supporting a coinitiator covalently bonded to the surface of the carrier. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a use of the particulate carrier in a dental composition.

The particulate carrier displays multiple covalently bonded tertiary amino groups and/or tertiary phosphine groups on the surface, for crosslinking monomers, oligomers and/or polymers having one or more polymerizable double bonds.

Bioactive dental temporary filling material

A dental filling material comprising bioactive borate glass particles, wherein the particles are at a concentration of 40-60 wt %, a co-monomer resin blend, a photoinitiator, and a co-initiator is provided. Method for applying the dental filling material to a tooth structure are also provided. The temporary filling material re-mineralizes the tooth structure and is removed after 1-7 days for the placement of a permanent filling material.

Zinc Phosphate Complex

A soluble zinc polyphosphate complex made by combining ingredients which include an inorganic zinc salt and a plurality of long chain polyphosphates having 6 or more phosphate polymer units, the relative amount of inorganic zinc salt and long chain polyphosphates providing a phosphorus to zinc mole ratio of at least 6:1. Further provided is a method of making this soluble zinc polyphosphate.

Zinc Phosphate Complex for Oral Care

An oral care composition having a soluble zinc polyphosphate complex made by combining ingredients including an inorganic zinc salt, and a plurality of long chain polyphosphates having 6 or more phosphate polymer units, the relative amount of inorganic zinc salt and long chain polyphosphates providing a phosphorus to zinc mole ratio of at least 6:1. Further provided is a method of treating a subject suffering from dentinal sensitivity applying the oral care composition to the teeth and gums of the subject.

HIGHLY LOADED METAL OXIDE MATERIALS BY SELF-ASSEMBLY FOR EXTENDED BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE MOLECULE RELEASE IN MEDICAL AND DENTAL APPLICATIONS

A biocompatible composite material for controlled release is disclosed, comprising a biocompatible metal oxide structure with a loaded network of pores. The pore network of the biocompatible composite material is filled with a uniformly distributed biologically active micellizing amphiphilic molecule, the size of these pores ranging from about 0.5 to about 100 nanometers. The material is characterized in that when exposed to phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), the controlled release of the active amphiphilic molecule is predominantly diffusion-driven over time.
