A cosmetic composition for make-up removal that provides aesthetically pleasing gliding application and is smudge resistant, the composition being provided in the form of a water-based micellar make-up removal composition that includes a blend of surfactants that includes one surfactant that has an HLB that is in the range from about 8 to about 16 and at least one surfactant that has an HLB that is greater than 16, and one or more powdered polysaccharides provided as essentially water-insoluble particles. In some embodiments the surfactant with an HLB greater than 16 is amphoteric. The composition can also include one or more of each or a combination of inorganic mineral powders, humectants, silicone-based defoaming agents, preservatives, and other cosmetically acceptable additives.

Nano-complexes for enamel remineralization

The invention relates to nano-sized complexes formed by associating amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) and/or amorphous calcium fluoride phosphate (ACFP) with an amphiphilic polymer surfactant. The amphiphilic polymer surfactants can form nano-sized assemblies in aqueous solution, serving as a nano dispersant preventing ACP and/or ACFP from aggregation, and as a nano carrier associating or attaching ACP and/or ACFP, stabilizing ACP and/or ACFP against the conversion to a crystalline form as well, thus maintaining calcium and phosphate/and fluoride ions in a bioavailable state for dental re-mineralization and prevention of dental caries, dental calculus and dental hyper-sensitivity. A method for the nano-sized complex preparation and compositions comprising the nano-sized complexes are also provided.

Biomedical composition for skin care and/or maintenance and delaying and/or inhibiting skin aging and the use thereof

A method for skin care and/or maintenance including applying or administering a preparation to a subject is provided. The preparation includes a biomedical composition, and the biomedical composition includes an effective amount of micelle, wherein the micelle includes a hyaluronic acid and/or a derivative thereof and a modified histidine. The modified histidine is grafted to at least one primary hydroxyl group of the hyaluronic acid and/or the derivative thereof, and a graft ratio of the modified histidine is 1-100%. Moreover, the hyaluronic acid and/or the derivative thereof and the modified histidine form the micelle on a weight percentage of 0.2-300:1.

TRANSDERMAL CARRIER

Improved formulations for topical treatment that ensure at least localized transdermal or systemic delivery of an active agent through skin, nails or hair follicles are disclosed.

METAL SEQUESTERING COSMETIC COMPOSITION

A cosmetic composition including a metal chelation system includes a combination of ascorbic acid, ferulic acid and phytic acid in a carrier system that includes water, and further includes one or more other ingredients for providing one of a variety of forms of cosmetic products. The cosmetic composition demonstrates removal of free metal ions in material contacted with the cosmetic composition, the removal of free metal ions in a range from at least about 40% and up to about 99%.

Antimicrobial personal cleansing compositions

An antimicrobial personal cleansing composition comprises: (i) an aqueous continuous phase including cleansing surfactant, (ii) a dispersed phase including dispersed particles of zinc-containing antimicrobial agents; and (iii) a solubilised oily liquid conditioning agent for skin and/or hair; which is light mineral oil having a kinematic viscosity of 3 to 5 cS (mm.sup.2.Math.s.sup.−1) at 40° C. and is solubilised in wormlike micelles in the aqueous continuous phase via the incorporation of an inorganic electrolyte and a linker molecule of formula R(X).sub.n, wherein R is a C.sub.6-C.sub.10 aryl ring or a C.sub.3-C.sub.14 mono-, di- or trivalent alkyl or hydroxyalkyl chain; n is 1 to 3 and each X is independently selected from —OH, —COOH and —COO.sup.−M.sup.+ groups, where M is an alkali metal, ammonium or alkanolammonium cation; and in which the level of solubilised oily liquid conditioning agent is 0.45 to 3% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
