Tablets having discontinuous coated regions
A dosage form comprising a tablet core and one or more discontinuous coated regions in various configurations on the surface of the dosage form is disclosed. A method for making the dosage form is also disclosed.
Delayed release drug formulation
In a delayed release formulation comprising a core containing a drug and a delayed release coating for providing intestinal release, release of the drug in the colon is accelerated by including an isolation layer between the core and the delayed release coating. The delayed release coating comprises an inner layer and an outer layer. The outer layer comprises a pH dependently soluble polymeric material which has a pH threshold at about pH 5 or above. The inner layer comprises a soluble polymeric material which is soluble in intestinal fluid or gastrointestinal fluid, said soluble polymeric material being selected from the group consisting of a polycarboxylic acid polymer that is at least partially neutralised, and a non-ionic polymer, provided that, where said soluble polymeric material is a non-ionic polymer, said inner layer comprises at least one additive selected from a buffer agent and a base.
CONTROLLED RELEASE SOLID DOSE FORMS
The present invention is directed to a solid dose form comprising a film coating composition encapsulating a core, wherein: (i) the core comprises an active ingredient comprising at least one of a pharmaceutical, veterinary, or nutraceutical active ingredient; (ii) the film coating composition comprises ethylcellulose and guar gum, wherein the guar gum has an apparent viscosity ≥151.0 cps at a shear rate of 50 s.sup.−1 in a 1% aqueous guar gum solution measured rotationally at 20° C. after 1 minute equilibration using a 6 cm acrylic cone (1°) on a cone-plate viscometer wherein the shear is ramped up linearly from 1 to 50 s.sup.−1 in 25 steps over 29 seconds; (iii) the dose form provides controlled release of the active ingredient; (iv) the guar gum is present in an amount greater than 5 wt % based on the weight of the guar gum and ethylcellulose; and (v) the dose form is ethanol resistant.
DOSAGE FORM COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides dosage form coating compositions and suspensions, coatings, coated dosage forms, and methods of making and using the same. The dosage form coating compositions can include a hydroxypropyl cellulose and a carboxymethylcellulose. The hydroxypropyl cellulose can be present in an amount by weight of at least 18.0% and at most 25.0%. The hydroxypropyl cellulose can be present in a ration of at least 1:1.4 and at most 1.4:1 relative to the carboxymethyl cellulose. The coated dosage forms can have an improved slip force, an improve swallowability as represented by an incline transit distance, or an improved gloss.
NOVEL EXTENDED RELEASE COMPOSITION OF 2-(2- AMINOTHIAZOL-4-YL)-N-[4-(2{[(2R)-2-HYDROXY-2-PHENYLETHYL] AMINO} ETHYL) PHENYL] ACETAMIDE
The present invention relates to extended release composition of Mirabegron and process of manufacture thereof. The extended release composition of mirabegron comprising non-polymeric hydrophobic excipient as release controlling agent along with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipient is used in the treatment of symptoms associated with overactive bladder.
ENTERIC AEROBIZATION THERAPY
Agents, kits, and methods that utilize oxygenation to prevent and/or treat intestinal inflammation and/or infections caused by anaerobic microorganisms are provided. In several embodiments, the formulations are provided as a capsule within a capsule in order to separate an oxygen prodrug from a catalyst until the formulation is at a target site within the intestine. In several embodiments, the catalyst is provided in an excess of the oxygen prodrug. In several embodiments, the prodrug is within an inner capsule or coating and a biological material comprising a catalyst (e.g., yeast, spirulina, chlorella, etc.) surrounds the encapsulated prodrug and the biological material is within a capsule or coating. The agents, kits, and methods can be utilized to prevent and/or treat anaerobic bacterial infections of the intestinal lumen by enteric aerobization therapy.
Coated solid dosage forms
The invention is associated with ingestible film coated solid dosage forms comprising natural honey in the coating applied to such forms. The natural honey of the film coated solid dosage form is of sufficient level to be perceived by the user while avoiding sticking to each other or the packaging with which they are in contact and, or storage.
Composition
A press coated tablet for delayed release of an active ingredient comprising: (a) a core comprising one or more active ingredients, and; (b) an erodible delayed release barrier surrounding the core and comprising a wax and two or more grades of L-HPC, wherein the wax and L-HPC are provided in a weight ratio of wax to L-HPC of from 30%:70% to 70%:30%. The invention also relates to a method of making the press coated tablet.
Formulations and pharmacokinetics of deuterated benzoquinoline inhibitors of vesicular monoamine transporter 2
The present invention relates to new pharmaceutical compositions comprising benzoquinoline compounds, and methods to inhibit vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) activity in a subject for the treatment of chronic hyperkinetic movement disorders.
COMPOSITION FOR COATING TABLET
