Method of Filling A Medical Washer/Disinfector
20230087279 · 2023-03-23 · ·

The invention relates to method of filling a medical washer/disinfector. A desired pump speed of a circulation pump is determined. A predefined filling level associated with the desired pump speed is identified. Liquid is fed into a washing chamber while the circulation pump is running at less than said desired pump speed. While the liquid is continued to be fed so that the liquid level rises, the pump speed is increased based on the rising liquid level until said desired pump speed is reached. When the pump is running at said desired pump speed, it is detected when the liquid has been filled to the predefined filling level, and upon such detection the feeding of the liquid into the washing chamber is interrupted. Then invention also relates to a method of operating a medical washer/disinfector, a control unit and a medical washer/disinfector.

A method of forming metal nanoparticles includes applying a substance to an area of interest, applying cold plasma to the area of interest, and synthesizing nanoparticles from the substance using the cold plasma in the area of interest, wherein the substance is a solution that contains metal ions, and the nanoparticles synthesized are metallic in nature.

Protein purification and virus inactivation with alkyl glycosides

A process for purifying a recombinant protein comprising the steps of: i) providing a solution comprising the recombinant protein; ii) adding an alkyl glycoside to the solution; and iii) purifying the recombinant protein. The addition of the alkyl glycoside provides improved clearance of process-related impurities. The purified recombinant protein of the invention has low levels of host cell DNA, host cell protein and viral contamination.

Prophylactic bactericidal medical device

A medical implant system is described for inhibiting infection associated with a joint prosthesis implant. An inventive system includes an implant body made of a biocompatible material which has a metal component disposed on an external surface of the implant body. A current is allowed to flow to the metal component, stimulating release of metal ions toxic to microbes, such as bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and viruses. One detailed system is completely surgically implantable in the patient such that no part of the system is external to the patient while the system is in use. In addition, externally controlled devices are provided which allow for modulation of implanted components.

METHOD FOR PATHOGENS, MICROORGANISMS, AND PARASITES INACTIVATION

Described herein are methods for inactivation or reduction of pathogens, microorganisms or parasites in a sample, media, composition, utility, device, surface or organism by treatment with an alkylating compound of Structure I, followed by elimination or reduction of the residual compound of Structure I by treatment with a neutralizing agent, which eliminates or reduces the toxicity or other undesirable properties of the alkylating compound having Structure I. The neutralizing agent can be present in a treatment solution or be part of a solid-phase agent, and acts by eliminating the alkylating properties of the alkylating compound of Structure I.

Blood pathogen inactivation method

The present disclosure provides a pathogen inactivation method, which is low-frequency sonication together with illumination of a photosensitizer-containing blood sample; and the low-frequency sonication is conducted at a frequency of 15-500 KHz. Through the combination of sonication and photochemical pathogen inactivation technology that enhance and complement each other, the blood pathogen inactivation method provided by the present disclosure enhances a pathogen inactivation effect, reduces a dosage of the photosensitizer, photosensitizer-related blood quality damage, energy demand for the illumination, and pathogen inactivation treatment time, increases the blood illumination thickness for effective pathogen inactivation, saves illumination bag materials, shortens the size of illumination equipment, saves costs, and helps the pathogen inactivation technology go to the market.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR STERILIZATION, DISINFECTION, SANITIZATION AND DECONTAMINATION

A sterilization, disinfection, sanitization, or decontamination system having a chamber defining a region, and a generator for creating a free radical effluent with reactive oxygen, nitrogen, and other species and/or a vaporizer. A closed loop circulating system without a free-radical destroyer is provided for supplying the mixture of free radicals from the generator mixed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the form of the effluent to the chamber. The system is used in sterilizing, disinfecting, sanitizing, or decontaminating items in the chamber or room and, with a wound chamber, in treating wounds on a body. The wound chamber may be designed to maintain separation from wounds being treated. Various embodiments can control moisture to reduce or avoid unwanted condensation. Some embodiments can be incorporated into an appliance having a closed space, such as a washing machine. Some embodiments may include a residual coating device that deposits a bactericidal coating on sterilized items.

POLYMER SOLUTION FOR VISCO-SUPPLEMENTATION

The invention proposes a polymer solution for visco-supplementation. The polymer solution contains at least one at least partially water-soluble polysaccharide or polysaccharide derivative, one water-soluble alkali salt or alkaline earth salt of polystyrene sulfonic acid, and water, whereby the polymer solution is clear to the eye. Moreover, the invention describes a method for sterilisation of the polymer solution. This method is characterised in that a mixture of at least one at least partially water-soluble polysaccharide or polysaccharide derivative, one water-soluble alkali salt or alkaline earth salt of polystyrene sulfonic acid, and water is mixed with at least 0.5 wt. % propiolactone, and in that the polymer solution is stored at room temperature for at least 24 hours.
