A sterilization challenge device for verifying the efficacy of a gas sterilization process includes an outer container, an inner container, a chemical indicator, and a cap. The outer container includes an open end, a closed end, a chamber configured to contain the inner container containing the chemical indicator, and at least one hole arranged proximate the open end. The cap is configured to engage with the outer container to close the open end, and the at least one hole is configured to provide a flow path for the gaseous sterilant into the chamber.

Method for controlling unpleasant odors

In a method for controlling unpleasant odors in discharge air from containers, rooms or plants in which strong smelling substances such as feces, waste or highly odorous foods are stored or processed, a fluid is introduced into the discharge air in a finely distributed form, which physically and/or chemically neutralizes the odor of the substances contained in the discharge air. The fluid is a 0.1% to 8% aqueous solution of an active substance concentrate which is 55-65 wt.-% triethylcitrate, 17.5 to 22.5 wt.-% 1,2 propanediol and 17.5 to 22 wt.- % di-propylene glycol-methylether. Alternatively, the fluid can also be a mixture of a suitable propellant gas mixture and the active substance concentrate specified above.

Aerial Disinfection
20230034357 · 2023-02-02 ·

This disclosure relates to a method for disinfecting a space. The method includes spraying a composition containing triethylene glycol into a space containing severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in an amount effective to inactivate SARS-CoV-2.

ON-DEMAND AGENT DISPENSING DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
20230123500 · 2023-04-20 · ·

The present disclosure provides on-demand agent dispensing patches, kits and related methods. A flexible patch is configured to provide on-demand dispensing of the agent via compression of the patch. The patch comprises: an adhesive layer to removably couple the patch to a surface; at least one reservoir layer overlying the adhesive layer configured to absorb and retain the agent therein; at least one dispenser layer overlying the at least one reservoir layer comprising a plurality of solid portions and an array of a plurality of openings configured to inhibit evaporation of the agent and control a flow of the agent therefrom upon the compression of the patch; and at least one backer layer between the adhesive layer and the at least one reservoir layer being substantially impervious to the agent. The at least one reservoir layer may be void of the agent, which may be provided in a container.

METHOD OF STERILIZATION OF BIOLOGICS
20220323621 · 2022-10-13 · ·

Methods of sterilizing biologics or biological components are disclosed wherein the biologic or biological component in solution or suspension form are formed using an annealing step during freeze drying so that a porous solid matrix which allows penetration of a sterilizing gas such as EtO to pass through. The annealing process decreases the particle size of lyophilized material as compared to other methods and provides a more uniform cake that is easy to reconstitute. In addition, the resulting lyophilized material made with the annealing step allows better penetration of the sterilizing gas for more effective and uniform sterilization of the material.

MICROBIOLOGICAL TRANSPORT MEDIUM AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

The present disclosure relates to the field of media for use in microbiological applications, and particularly in relation sample collection, transport, preparation, and storage. The disclosed media inactivate pathogenic (e.g., viral or bacterial) samples to allow for safe handling and storage, while simultaneously preserving nucleic acids for assessment.

A Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfectant Composition
20220183297 · 2022-06-16 ·

The present invention herein provides a disinfectant composition containing a) an effective amount of a hydrogen peroxide source, b) a blend of at least one aromatic alcohol and at least one glycol or glycol ether, c) at least one nonionic and/or anionic surfactant and d) at least one acid. Furthermore a method of using the disinfectant composition is also provided, whereby the composition can be applied to any surface and effectively kill a majority of tuberculosis and/or M. terrae microbes; resulting in a >5 log reduction at a contact time of 5 minutes or less.

ANTIVIRAL METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS

A method of inactivating an enveloped ssRNA virus, such as SARS-CoV-2. The method involves contacting the enveloped ssRNA virus with an antiviral polyelectrolyte compound and/or a conjugated aromatic compound effective to inactivate the virus. The disclosure also provides a method of reducing the period of viability of enveloped ssRNA virus, such as SARS-CoV-2, on personal protective equipment, in filtered air, and on surfaces that have come into contact with the virus.
