GRAPHENE BIOSCAFFOLDS AND THEIR USE IN CELLULAR THERAPY
A bioscaffold comprising a graphene matrix for use in cellular therapy is disclosed. In particular, a bioscaffold having a coating of dexamethasone on a three-dimensional graphene matrix is provided, wherein the bioscaffold elutes dexamethasone to reduce inflammatory responses following implantation of the bioscaffold in a subject. Having the dexamethasone released locally in the vicinity of the bioscaffold avoids the systemic side effects from conventional intravenous delivery while allowing the dexamethasone to modulate the inflammatory milieu within the transplantation microenvironment.
Method of Treating Scoliosis Using a Biological Implant
The present invention is a bone growth stimulating and promoting cytokine type biological implant preferably comprising PTH coated with a controlled release biodegradable coating that is implanted preferably in the concave side of a scoliotically curved spine in combination with a bone growth inhibiting type biological implant preferably comprising methotrexate or like anti-metabolite coated with a controlled release biodegradable coating that is implanted preferably in the convex side of a scoliotically curved spine. The insertion of the biological implant is highly non-invasion, especially as compared to more conventional spine surgical methods, and the biological implant does not decrease spinal mobility or spinal range of motion.
Collagen gel formulations
The present inventors have developed printable collagen bioinks using unmodified type I collagen with mechanical and structural properties that facilitate application to tissue in a structured form. In particular, the compositions of the present invention may be used to apply collagen gels to tissue (e.g. eye) using two- or three-dimensional (extrusion) bioprinting techniques.
TISSUE REGENERATIVE MULTI-DRUG COCKTAIL AND APPARATUS FOR DELIVERY THEREOF
Disclosed are apparatus, compositions, and methods for promoting regeneration of tissue on a subject such as a wounded, damaged, or injured appendage, or within a subject such as a wounded, damaged, or injured organ. The disclosed apparatus, composition, and methods include or utilize wearable sleeves and regenerative compositions.
Cartilage mimetic gels
A cartilage mimetic gel includes double network hydrogels. The double network hydrogels comprise a first crosslinked network and a second crosslinked network. The first crosslinked network can be formed from poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid). The second crosslinked network can be formed from poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-acrylamide).
Delivery systems
Disclosed herein are delivery systems including coated and uncoated yarns, yarn precursors, threads, fibers, and other substrates for the constant or near-constant release of active compounds, as well as methods for manufacturing such delivery systems. The yarns, yarn precursors, threads, fibers, and other substrates can include a cross-linked hydrophobic elastomer and an active compound. One or more coatings that are impermeable or substantially impermeable to the active compound may partially or fully occlude the yarn or substrate to control release rates of the active compound. The delivery systems may be used in a variety of applications, including the making of articles of clothing, textiles, and fabrics, and may be used in methods of treating various conditions and diseases.
Coacervate composition containing protein drug and wound healing agent comprising same
The present disclosure provides a coacervate composition containing a protein drug, gelatin A, sodium alginate and an acid and a wound-healing agent including the same. The coacervate composition according to the present disclosure can be useful as a wound-healing material delivery system for effectively delivering a protein drug, particularly epidermal growth factor, to a wound site in the wound-healing field.
DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR RELEASE OF ACTIVE COMPOUNDS
Drug delivery systems and wearable articles including the drug delivery systems are provided. The drug delivery systems may include a substrate coated with at least one polymer and at least one active compound. The substrate is operable to include yarns, yarn precursors, threads, filaments, fibers, and/or other suitable substrates. Methods for manufacturing drug delivery systems are also provided. The methods are operable to include disposing a solution including a monomer and an active compound on the substrate. The methods are also operable to include exposing the solution and the substrate to UV light to initiate polymerization of the solution.
Bioresorbable metal alloy and implants
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for structures including an alloy of calcium, strontium, and magnesium.
OCULAR DEVICE DELIVERY METHODS AND SYSTEMS
The present disclosure provides an ophthalmic article. The ophthalmic article may comprise a biocompatible matrix comprising a copolymer derived from a caprolactone monomer and at least one other monomer. The ophthalmic article may also comprise an active agent or a diagnostic agent. The ophthalmic article may be configured to associate to a haptic of an intraocular lens (IOL).
