ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH ODOR CONTROL COMPOSITION
20230042590 · 2023-02-09 ·

A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet is described. The disposable absorbent article includes an odor control composition having a preservative, a surfactant, methylated beta-cyclodextrin (m-BCD), and perfume.

Absorbent articles comprising encapsulating agents

An absorbent article comprising an absorbent gelling material (AGM) having an encapsulated compound of one or more odor controlling organic compounds disposed upon a surface thereof is described. Alternatively, an AGM particle comprising an encapsulated reactive compound of one or more odor controlling organic compounds disposed as a surface coating thereon is described. Additionally, a method to manufacture an absorbent article is described. The method provides for the steps of: a) providing a solution in a solvent system, the solution has an encapsulating agent and one or more odor controlling organic compounds as a surface coating; b) applying an amount of the solution to a surface of an AGM particle; and, c) incorporating the AGM particle having the solution applied thereto into the absorbent article.

Topical antimicrobial formulations containing monovalent copper ions and systems for generating monovalent copper ions

The present invention relates to antimicrobial formulations. More particularly, the invention relates to monovalent copper-containing and/or monovalent copper-generating products for healing wounds and burns, and particularly for chronic wounds, prevention of wound infections and infections in various implants as well as medical/surgical devices.

COMPOSITION AND DRESSING WITH NITRIC OXIDE

A dressing composition for use as a skin dressing comprises an elastomeric-adhesive composition, and a zeolite comprising releasably adsorbed nitric oxide. The zeolite may comprise a transition metal cation such as Co, Fe, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag or a mixture thereof as an extra-framework metal cation, preferably Zn. The elastomeric adhesive composition may be a hydro-colloid-adhesive composition comprising, hydrocolloid and elastomer. The dressing composition releases nitric oxide, which may have beneficial effects, when used on wounds or moist skin, with a substantially constant release rate over a long period of time. A dressing including a layer of the dressing composition has a backing layer and may have a release liner removably attached to the skin-contacting surface of the dressing layer.

Various aspects of the present disclosure provide compositions including a water-insoluble therapeutic agent and a gallate-containing compound. Other aspects provide methods of using such compositions.

Drug eluting balloon

The present invention is an inflatable balloon which is enclosed by an expandable cover which becomes increasingly porous/permeable during expansion. The balloon is coated or enclosed with a matrix which contains a pharmaceutically active agent. During expansion of the balloon, the pharmaceutically active agent is released or extruded through the expandable cover into a body cavity such as an artery or vein. The present invention also provides for a method of treating a disease or condition by delivering the inflatable balloon to a particular body cavity.

Use of self-assembled alkylsilane coatings for drug delivery applications

The invention relates to self-assembled organosilane- and small molecule drug-containing coatings for resorbable medical implant devices. The coatings can be prepared from precursor compositions containing an organosilane and a small molecule drug, and can be applied to substrates. Prior to applying the coatings, the surfaces of the substrates can be pretreated. The coatings can be functionalized with a binding compound that is coupled with an active component. The coatings can be applied using various techniques and apparatus, more particularly, by a deep-coating process conducted at ambient conditions.

DEVICE AND METHOD OF CREATING A FLUID CONTAINMENT FIELD FOR ADMINISTERING THERAPEUTICS TO A NERVE
20230225733 · 2023-07-20 ·

A severed nerve may be surgically rejoined and severed axons fused via sequential administrations of solutions. The solutions may include a priming solution comprising methylene blue in a Ca.sup.2+-free saline solution, a fusion solution comprising about 50% (w/w) PEG, and a sealing solution comprising Ca.sup.2+-containing saline. The PEG fusion solution may be applied in a nerve treatment device configured to isolate the injured segment of the nerve. The device may include a containment chamber for creating a fluid containment field around the anastomosis. The device may have slits, slots, and/or apertures in opposing endwalls of the device designed to receive the nerve. The device may have an open bath configuration or may include separable lower and upper bodies to create a closed bath configuration. The device may include one or more fluid ports in fluid communication with the containment chamber for introducing and/or removing fluid.
